The reps were very friendly. They have good new collections. I came before the close the store but they waited until I make a decision on which shoe I like, I bought 4 shoes and they closed the door but made sure I am happy with my selection. They even gave me some discount which saved me some money.

Customer service is horrible. I’m pretty sure the boss/manager was helping me and every time he was asking me a question it was with an attitude or he was trying to make it seem like I was stupid. I have been working in retail for 4 years and I would never treat my customers the way he did. If you don’t like your job you should just find another one.

The price of the shoes seemed comfortable to me in relation to the already proven quality of those shoes that although they do not have much availability of sizes one has to adapt to another, there was no offer from the staff in more similar options other styles but from there everything was fine. everything accessible if you walk a lot at work you have to wear good shoes. Larry and his staff at this New Balance store are just amazing. After years of Saucony, Brooks and other “high end” products, I came back to New Balance, because these folks took the time to let me check out a LOT of sneaker options. And they have stock, in store, and I’m not an easy size. When something didn’t work out, they didn’t hassle me, they took them back, knowing that’s good customer service and another potential sale down the road. And when I couldn’t find a pair of hard to find sneakers anywhere in the world, Larry got on the phone with the warehouse and found me a pair. I mean, I’m reading through some of these reviews, most of which are very positive like mine, but some others need to get their heads examined. This is a small business, competing with the likes of the Amazons and Zappos of the world, they’re price competitive, they always have stock, free shipping and returns, AND they offer BETTER, PERSONALIZED service. Throwback to a world of small businesses that thrived, differentiated themselves, and survived based on service. I highly recommend Larry and the entire staff at New Balance in Hasbrouck Heights, well worth the visit.

I went there today and every staffs are very nice but especially Ms Winnie impressed me so much! She is so nice and she enjoys what she does! I see a lot of passion of her. Customer service is great but they’re advertising shoes that are on sale online, when you walk in there’s no shoes on sale.

I was impressed by the kindness of the New Balance store staff, even when I arrived last minute to return an item before closing. They handled my return swiftly and with a smile, making me feel valued as a customer. Highly recommend their exceptional service.

Wow! My lucky day. Looked forward to stopping in New Balance on Rt.17South to replace my worn shoes. I'm very particular in simple basic black running shoe, which I learned has been discontinued. The salesman, Demir could not have been more patient in taking the extra time to check on the computer (no luck there). He then searched stock downstairs and was lucky to find what I wanted. Thank you Demir for the extra effort!

Stopped in too purchase another pair of 990's, once again was met with great customer service, and outstanding patience, and knowledge from the sales representative Matthew, this store never disappoints!

These people know what they're doing. They fit athletes and non-athletes alike. I've always had good service from them.

Well stocked store with good staff but impossible to find. Odd location. This is a privately owned store and I was unable to exchange shoes that I had purchased that didn't fit from a different new balance store.

Never knew this store existed until I had to return an online order. It is easy to pass as it's nestled in a tiny shopping plaza by route 17, but not hard to find. I was surprised by the full selection of men's and women's sneakers, and they also sell apparel. Customer service was great in answering questions and assisting me with my online return. If you're in need of running shoes, definitely come here. New Balance has stepped their game up tremendously.

Confused as to why I couldn't exchange a pair of new balance I got as a gift that didn't fit for a different size. I didn't have a receipt but I just wanted to exchange and would have paid the difference. They had the same model number shoe in a different color way in the store. Would have even been happy with ordering but that wasn't even suggested. Not everyone gives gift receipts. Oh well, guess I'll shop elsewhere.

I had a wonderful experience with Salesman, Dashawn Nelson today. I had surgery on the back of my ankle and I am finally ready for sneakers but every sneaker so far has been painful. He was so patient and kind while he took time to help me find the right type of sneakers for my feet. This excellent type of customer service in today's environment is hard to find so I'm thankful to have met this gentleman.

I have been buying my sneakers here for many years. The drive is worth the service and selection, which is always excellent. However, after spending $129 on a pair of sneakers offer me a bag! Don't alienate people, free bags for clothing and shoes have not been banned in NJ. Maybe next time I'll just order a bunch online and get free shipping and return what I don't want. It takes years to get a customer and seconds to loose one! Penny wise and pound foolish. At least have a stash of bags for customers who request one. There are many older, walking challenged people who shop here. How can they maneuver carrying a box or 2 to their car?

My sister had purchased new sneakers for my mother which didn't fit. we showed up with our box and receipt, and the salesperson was so kind and patient with my 86 year old mother. He measured her foot, kept going back to find a slightly different size, and kept helping her until she finally got a pair that seemed right to her. They ended costing less than the original pair, so we got a refund for the difference. I highly recommend New Balance in Hasbrouck Heights, especially Oscar our sales guy.

I have a wide foot, and that means it is next to impossible to buy sneakers or shoes in a store as many no longer carry wide shoes. After receiving a mailing from New Balance I saw there was a store about 45 minutes away. I called and asked they had a large selection of women walking sneakers in 8.5 Wide. I was told yes. I went into the store and there is a large selection of sneakers and a lot of help-that ignore you. I guess its to hard to say something like 'someone will be with you in a little bit' I picked out 2 sneakers and waited. A person came over to help me and insisted on measuring my foot. I explained to her that I have been wearing New Balance for over 20 years and my size has not changed. I wanted the 2 sneakers I picked out in 8.5 W even though she insisted that is not my foot size... sighhhhhh Needless to say, the sneakers I wanted were not available in my size, they were out of stock, but they had them in different colors and different sizes. Really?? Really??? I call to make sure you have what I want, I drive 45 freaking minutes to your store to be ignored, told my foot was a different size from what I have been wearing comfortably and using and then have what I asked for out of stock.. #Foregetaboutit

In May I bought a pair of golf shoes ($119.00) from the NB store in Hasbrouck Hghts. In October after maybe 8-10 uses the sole separated from one of the shoes. Keep in mind these are golf shoes worn only for golf. I returned to the store with my receipt. The store refused to replace the shoes or even give me a discount on another pair. They did give me an 800 number for New Balance. Liking the shoes otherwise, I bought another pair figuring the company would back their product. Well......... The company requested a copy of the receipt and photos of both shoes to be sent online. I did that. Two weeks later I get an email they didn't receive the pics. I call the company. They told me to re-send it. I did. Two weeks later, same thing. I call again. I ask the rep if I can send receipt and pics via regular mail. Nope, it's not their policy. Now a little miffed, I told the rep the fact that they were only 5 months old and worn less than 10 times they should reimburse me regardless of the photos. The rep gets his supervisor who says it's not their procedure. Now I'm a disgruntled customer. The rep says I'll speak again with my supervisor. I'm on hold for 10 minutes and then disconnected. No callback. New Balance is a slipshod company for not backing their product and the Heights store lost a customer in particular. Too bad. I wore their shoes for work, the gym and golf. Hello Asics! I'm going to echo the sentiment of Mike H's review and also raise concerns about sales associates in running shoe stores that obviously don't run. I'm an underpronator, have a medium arch, and forefoot strike with each stride. I'm also 6'0" tall. Any sales associate worth their salt would immediately recognize that I'd need a pair of shoes that offer cushion and support. I currently own a pair of NB 880's, and was in the market for the exact model or something comparable. They did have the 1080 and 1064, but both shoes were a little high in price for my liking. I visit my parents in Jersey several times a year and was planning on leaving a pair of running shoes at their place so that I don't have to worry about packing a pair every time I travel. Out of luck, the associate suggested that I try Sports Authority for less expensive options. I took him up on his suggestion and found a pair of NB 790's for $50. Nice. What's odd is that Sports Authority had just as good a selection as the actual New Balance store. So this begs the question, "Why don't people just shop at Sports Authority instead?" I know I will...

Purchased my first pair of New Balance shoes, per doctors orders. Great selection, staff was easy to work with, Mike took care of me, measured my feet, helped me find the right shoe. If you are looking for service, an American Made product, stop in, you won't be disappointed.

Never will I ever buy new balance online. I will only go to this store!! First of all, I enter and I was surprised at how many employees there were for such a small store. All of them were doing more than just getting a size for the customers, they were having consultations with them. I was waiting for someone to help me so I overheard the different convos. Many customers were getting very personal with the employees regarding their foot concerns. The employees were so attentive to the customers and made recommendations and sat next to them, helped them with fitting the shoe, etc. The person that helped me out was CHRIS... I went in to get a specific shoe for my son that was recommended by his doctor. Chris educated me on the shoe and shoes overall. He showed me how to spot a quality shoe. He educated me soooo well and spent so much time with me. I have never had such amazing customer service from a sneaker store! I will continue spending my money here!

This was my first visit to a New Balance Store. After walking in I was greeted by Maria and asked if she could help. This took me by surprise. I've seen people walk into other stores and get ignored. Maria actually took several minutes discussing my needs as per doctors orders before measuring my feet. Then came out with 3 different pairs of shoes. Again she spent time with me explaining the differences between all of them. Normally I would have gotten them online , but I would have missed out on the excellent customer service. Great job , and thanks again, Maria.

I've been to this store several times and each time I'm impressed with the sales staff. They are knowledgeable and helpful. Most importantly, they always seem to have my size in stock. This makes for in and out shoe shopping.

This is the worst shoe store I have ever been to. The employees are nice, but they wear a mixture of plain clothes and NB shirts so you don't know who does or doesn't work there and they take at least 10 mins to get any shoe you would need. I've never been in there where I haven't heard someone complain about how long it's taking to get their shoes after asking someone for what they needed. They always seem too busy to give the attention needed. This store is consistently chaotic. I needed a size they didn't have so they went to order it for me. After one week they called me that the shoe came in, I went to go pick it up and it was the wrong shoe. They ordered me a new pair, after another week I go to pick it up and it was the wrong shoe AGAIN. The Owner(?) goes to try and order it again and says that the company won't ship it to him and that he doesn't have access to it after TWO WEEKS of trying to get this done. The owner does not say, "let's find you a new shoe I'll take care of you for the trouble you've experienced". Just tells me I need to go to a different store. So I went to a different store in NYC got the shoe I needed but ultimately didn't care for the shoe quality so I went to return the shoe from NYC to this Hasbrouck Heights store and they refused my return even though both are New Balance stores. They said this store is a franchise whereas the NYC one was not so they won't take it. Nothing but frustrations at this store. STAY AWAY!!

Quality of in-person service varies, but the huge attraction of the store is SELECTION. Just about every model of every New Balance sneaker is available in every size, which is a rare and awesome thing to find. The store also runs a great online business.

Once or twice a year, when I need new sneakers (a.k.a. cross-trainers), I buy them online from New Balance North Jersey (aperfectdealer.com). I wear New Balance because I have narrow feet ... and I shop here because their service has been uniformly outstanding. I've comparison-shopped a few New Balance online stores, plus my local brick-and-mortar NB outlet. NBNJ's prices are consistently at least as low as anyone else's, and they ship FAST. More than once, I've ordered online - with the shipping free - and received the shoes the very next day! (I'm not in NJ, but in a nearby state.) So: these guys carry my unusual size (13B); they have good prices; and they get the shoes into my hands (and onto my feet) quickly. What more can I want from a shoe store?

The saleswoman who assisted me today was incredibly patient and courteous. I use an orthotic and she helped me remove the insoles, and fetched shoes in every size (4E, 2E, 10, 10.5) and color. When I couldn't find a winter boot from New Balance, we went next door to their sister store and I tried on a bunch of Dunham boots. Great store.

I love this store. The prices maybe a little higher but the service you get makes up for it. Mark the manager is great goes way out of his way to help. Rashan another employee was also very knowledgeable and extremely helpful.

Unorganized mad house with multiple dogs walking around. Yes I am describing New Balance shoe store. Upon entering this confusing madhouse of people I realized unless I had a bull horn, I was not going to be served. I decided to look for the sneakers I wanted and make the best of it. Watching the dogs walk all over was a problem. Not bc the were dogs but I am so afraid of falling and having to watch for low moving dogs in this unorganized mess was not a pleasurable experience. The final straw was the mop in the corner with the cleansing cloth on it. It was confidently placed so when the dogs did what dogs do they could mop it up continuously. No thank you. I will pay extra and get the exact sneakers on amazon. Good job New Balance. Do not publicly condemn Amazon for taking ur business. U did that all on ur own.

This store has literally the BEST staff. They're always super nice, help you very well, and know their stuff. I come here every year to buy the newest version of 990s as a casual cross country runner. I'm also not the type to really write reviews, but I always love coming to this store.

My husband and I went to the NB Running Shoe North Jersey store yesterday August 21, 2018 as referred by our Podiatrist. We were very happy with the service (our salesperson was Marco) and the wide variety of products. My husband is having problems with heel spurs and has a wide foot and we felt that Marco totally addressed his needs, was personable, and efficient. We will take the trip to return again for our next purchase.

Visited this store 2 times in 7 months...poorly stocked each time. Womens size 8.5 or 9....only walking shoes or shoes with velcro!!! Both times staff offered to order the shoe I "wanted". Since I couldn't try it on, said no both times. NYC store is always stocked-worth the extra $ to have options. Not going back to this location again!

Poor, unfriendly attitude of female salesperson .... totally inexperienced, not helpful and had a major attitude! I will definitely share my disappointing and frustrating experience with my podiatrist and others!

Extremely disappointed in my most recent visit to New Balance in Hasbrouck Heights! I told the salesperson (Guy with a Tasmanian Devil tattoo on his right bicep) I was looking for a particular athletic shoe. I gave him the model, color, width and size. He disappeared into the back room and emerged several minutes later with 3 pairs of shoes. One was a completely different model than what I asked for and the other 2 were the correct model in different widths and sizes. Do I really need to say, "WTH"? What is wrong with people? These were to be a gift for Christmas. Would it have been so hard to simply say they were out of stock rather than go through the gyrations of trying to sell me the wrong item? Then, I made the mistake of asking him to measure me. First he told me one size and when I asked to confirm, he told me something different. He also incorrectly measured me as a woman's 10B width. I have NEVER been a B width in all of my 48 years. I told him I wear a men's 10 in the 993 and then he changed his story...probably because that overpriced shoe is $175. As I turned to leave, he shouted after me that NB is the only brand that comes in widths. LIES! Brooks, Asics, Mizuno and others ALL have wide widths in certain shoes and some Brooks go to 4E. It is clear these people think they are the only game in town. Please prove them wrong and go elsewhere!

I had a great experience finding the perfect sneaker for my feet in both support and fit, thanks to the sales associate who was terrific and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, my experience was marred by an apparent managerial staff person, who chose to come over, interrupt my buying experience, in order to berate my sales associate over an unrelated clerical paperwork issue. I thought it most unprofessional to do this in front of a customer, and it only served to undermine confidence and respect. It left an unpleasant impression, after an otherwise great experience.

My Podiatrist recommend this EXACT store by location (459 State Hwy 17 South across the street from the Bendix Diner). He said the people here are fantastic, when it comes to listening to what you need... especially if you are going in on a Doctors recommendation (10% extra discount). I can not say enough GOOD things about Larry (Owner) who with his brother are very involved with every customer and the representative helping that customer in the store. Larry sort of oversees and supervises every customer service representative, one-on-one which I thought was great. This is a BUSY place, it was 2:00 in the afternoon on a Tuesday and there must have been at least 10 people in the store and they all were being cared for by TRAINED employees. Larry would step in if he heard something that was not right and correct the customer service representative in a POSITIVE manner as to not embarrass anyone and to ensure a better long term employee. Larry personally put me on a machine to analysis my foot imprint. He described to me what he saw, mind you, I just came from a FIRST TIME visit to my wife's Podiatrist. He said EXACTLY what the Podiatrist said almost word-for-word. This is a man that knows what he is talking about! Larry told me, I have been buying the WRONG New Balance sneaker all of this time. WOW!!! This shocked me, but after hearing his explanation and trying on the New Balance sneaker he recommended, he was absolutely right!!! How could I have gotten it so wrong all of these years... I had been buying the top-of-the-line New Balance sneaker since I can remember... the model number is 990 v-4 which is the latest and the greatest. UNBEKNOWNST to me, these sneaker are RUNNING SNEAKERS, I am 64 years young and I do NOT require running sneakers... When Larry's representative slipped on a pair of the model that Larry said was right for me... Oh, it felt so good and fit just right... Then Larry suggested Memory foam inserts and WOW I could not believe shoes could feel this good... Trust me, Larry is a professional of the highest order, this is the man you want helping you with your footwear (via a customer representative). Larry talks to everybody and you can easily see he loves helping people... I was very impressed. Please note: I went to the big box stores to buy my New Balance sneakers ONLY when they were on sale, but Larry's everyday price is a discounted price from the asking retail price. My husband and I have been there a few times. The service could not have been better! Glenn, Larry, Donna, Blair and newbie Deborah have the patience of saints and just about as much knowledge of footwear. The selection of styles and sizes is amazing. Next door is the sister store Vera, for women and men - boy does that have great shoes! Well worth the trip!

OK, there's no other way to put this - I have problem feet. I have always had terrible difficulty finding comfortable shoes - even when I was young (which I am not any more). Now I have arthritis in my toe joints to compound things. Well, I have been advised to improve my health by walking - at least an hour a day, more if I can. So I have been briskly walking 1 - 1 1/2 hours a day. And I needed new sneakers. I did not look forward to this since buying shoes has always been a traumatic experience. I spent an hour yesterday with Larry at New Balance in Hasbrouck Heights. It was a revelation. He was infinitely patient, first listening to my needs and then trying at least 30 pairs of sneakers on me, honing in on the exactly right sneaker for my feet and use. I have never had a shopping experience like this, never imagined it. The store was crowded since it was a Saturday afternoon, but there were hoards of sales associates and no one seemed to have to wait. I especially appreciated that Larry (who is the owner) realized that I had a special need and waited on me himself. That seemed to be the attitude of everyone working in the store. I spoke to several sales associates while I was walking around and then while I was paying and they all seemed to be knowledgeable and concerned that the customers wind up with the right shoe.

The best thing about this place is that they let you wear the shoes for up to 30 days, then return them if you don't like them.

Larry was helpful on the phone and told me the sneakers I wanted were in stock. So I drove thirty minutes to his store and when I got there he tried the ol' bait and switch. He wanted me to try on a different pair so he could order the other pair I wanted and ship it to me. I could've done that myself online for less money and saved myself the hour round trip. I won't buy from Larry and I won't go there again.

Hi , on 9/22/18 I visited this new balance store . I young man came over to us .his name was simon. Very professional , nice and respectful. And of course very helpful. I gave him my size for sneakers. He went in the back came out with the size I ask for. And they didn't fit. So He suggested we measure my foot. He said my foot size had changed. So He went in the back again. Came back with the right size for me. And they fit great. It may not seem like a big deal , but it was nice how he treated me with so much courtesy. Great place to go and pick up a new pair of shoes. You can find them cheaper at discount stores but you will not get the expertise knowledge that you will at the "New Balance" retail stores

Went there with my elderly parents to buy my father sneakers. He can be a bit of a curmudgeon at times so I expected this to be an ordeal. My fears we're immediately dispelled by a gentleman named Patrick who took professionalism to a new level. Definitely a wonderful experience

I would highly recommend Larry and his team of associates. I bought a pair of expensive New Balance running shoes in April this year and they began to hurt my feet in July. I called the store, Larry asked me to come in and he had me try on several other pairs, and recommended others to be on the safe side. I finally chose a pair I liked and when I asked what did I owe? he said "what do you think is fair"? we came to a very amicable agreement and I left very happy. terrifc service! That's how business should run. Huge Selection is a plus... As Sheldon Cooper says, " I can buy all these things on line, I come here for the personal service"

Inexperienced sales staff today. Advised them I have Morton's neuroma but he didn't know what it was..second most common ailment of the foot..he asked sales people behind the counter..they didn't know what it was either..I've shopped in there when the sales force knew what type of shoe my condition requires. Very disappointed

This New Balance store is the one my husband and I go to each time we need new running and walking shoes. They have a large selection and the help is knowledgeable, helpful and patient. They aim to please.

My son is almost two years old and I bought his second pair of New Balance sneakers at the New Balance Store at 350 Tarrytown Road in White Plains. He wears an extra extra wide so I knew New Balance was the place to go. I bought him the 993's in a charcoal grey color and not only do they fit great on him but I love the way they look too! The store staff and manager were amazing. They were extremely knowledgeable and so friendly. The store also had toys to occupy and keep my son happy while he tried on sneakers while I spoke with the staff. I highly reccommend the New Balance White Plains store as the place to go to fo buying infant/toddler sneakers! I will see you again NB! Jennifer

I went to this store when my sister visited me in December from California. This was on her "What I must do when I'm back in NJ" list. One visit there with her and I know why - it's one thing to order shoes/sneakers online at a discount but it's a totally different experience when you go to this store and the owners are there checking every shoe my sister thought would work to make absolutely sure the fit was right. They also have a new line of regular shoes, not sneakers, that offer people who need truly comfortable shoes a good looking option. My sister hadn't been back to the store for 1 year and when she walked in the door the owner recognized her and asked her how things were on the west coast. That's impressive. She purchased 2 pairs of sneakers and 1 pair of dress shoes with every pair a perfect fit. Their return policy is also impressive - if you don't like what you've bought, you can return it 30 days later for a full refund. This small store (with a huge inventory) has a large and loyal following due to this simply outstanding customer service that's focused on making sure what you purchase is right for you and not just another sale. And, of course, New Balance is an excellent product so there's no way you can lose.
