Popped in here while in Snowmass on vacation with my brother's family.
This was my first time here, but my brother and his wife had eaten here before. We sat at one of the high top tables and there was plenty of room when we got there- but I can see this place being extremely busy once ski season gets going...we were there on the day before Thanksgiving so it wasn't really that crowded on the mountain or in the Village around lunchtime.
We started with The Pretzel Rolls appetizer- which comes with your choice of 3 dips- you can get savory and sweet options. We went with the beer mustard, the whole grain mustard, and the cheese fondue. The fondue is to die for. It is literally something that I would put on just about anything (this is where Guy Fieri would say "I'd put that on a flip flop" and he wouldn't be wrong). We had a 6 year old and a 4 year old who basically dominated the dish- even though their meals were right in front of them.
One child got the pizza, the other ate the grilled cheese. I think that many of their entrees utilize a panini press to get things finished- The grilled cheese looked like it was made in the press, and I saw hot dogs served in buns that have the familiar vertical "press marks". Both kids finished their entrees in addition to the pretzels, so that tells you the food was pretty good. I would say from my perspective that both dishes looked pretty standard, nothing too flashy.
My brother had the Caesar Salad, which is also pretty standard here but there was a surprise- the salad is somewhat spicy, and we spent a few minutes debating how they achieved that, and I think we landed on the dressing and croutons being seasoned with some kind of warming spice and hot sauce.
His wife got the nachos and added a side of cheese fondue. These nachos gave me food envy something fierce. Lots of toppings, and just dripping with fondue. I was regretting trying to behave...
I opted for the Grilled Chicken Entree. This basically came as a chicken breast with two sides- brussels sprouts and a healthy sized side of Caesar salad. The chicken was cooked perfectly, and I was very happy with eating mostly the chicken for lunch, using some of the mustard from our appetizer to add some extra flavor. I picked a little at the sides, but basically took them home to eat at another time (When reheated the BS were still really tasty, seasoned well with a balsamic drizzle).
I think if you wanted to drink with your meal, this is a good place to get some quality beers for sure. Looked like both my brother enjoyed his Seasonal Draft and SIL enjoyed her Voodoo Ranger IPA.
Our service was great. With the restaurant filling up quickly I saw they were potentially going to be overwhelmed but they handled it like champions.
Just as a note, you should expect to pay higher prices because this is Aspen/Snowmass. But if you time your lunch right (on the later side)...there's a trailer that serves free S'Mores from 3:30-4:30 daily if you take the mini-gondola back down to the base area. So the kids ended their meal with a sweet treat and we headed to our vacation home to enjoy the rest of our day.
No photos of the meal, which kind of surprised me but everyone was pretty hungry so we dug right in. Apologies for that- but each item was plated well and everything looked enticing which is why they were devoured. Worth a trip, if not for the food and drinks but also for the atmosphere and views.
