Did this trolley tour earlier today and had the best time! It is a completely one-of-a-kind experience and I learned so much. Our driver was super hospitable and professional, and had major skills on this busy Saturday. Our guide, who used to be an English teacher, was an outstanding orator. I could have listened to her story telling all day long. She was so pleasant and I have no idea how she memorized all those dates and names with no notes; very impressive. Highly recommend this tour and loved the convenient hotel pickup!

Glad we did the Trolley Tour of New Bern. The Trolley was air conditioned and clean. The tour guide and driver were both friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. Very good way to learn about the history of New Bern. Definitely recommend this for anyone visiting that’s wants to see and learn about the history of New Bern.

Google
We took the trolley tour, which is an absolute must while in town. You learn so much about the town, and it's handicap friendly for those who can't do a self guided walking tour. I highly recommend this, and if you book online, you save a few bucks per ticket. Restrooms are in the building across from the parked trolley, and it is online ticket reservations or credit cards at the trolley only. No cash. During the busy season, I'd recommend booking in advance online to save a seat.

The New Bern Tour Trolley is a must for anyone who would like to know some of the history of New Bern. It is a very enjoyable and comfortable 90 minutes ride around the city. Dave and Marie the driver and guide are outstanding.

Google
A lot of information about New Bern’s history was shared on this tour. I would suggest visiting some sites like Tryon Palace and the history center first. That way when the overview that is presented will bring some points together. Otherwise it can be overwhelming. The trolley is comfortably air conditioned. We booked our tickets ahead of time and saved a few dollars. There is only one tour at 2:00 on Sundays and ours was not at all crowded. But, being Sunday we couldn’t enter Christ’s Episcopal Church which was supposed to be to be one of three stops. All in all a good experience.

We enjoyed the New Bern Trolley tour! The tour guide and driver were both very kind and personable to accommodate us if we ever needed it, as we were traveling with a baby. The tour was full of great stories about the history of the people in, and the homes of, New Bern. The tour consists of a few stops where you get off of the trolley and walk to the site to hear the story, which was fun and a great change of pace.

Google
Great overview tour of a quaint historic town. Tour guide and driver were both personable and welcoming. Air-conditioned trolley bus was comfortable and clean. We drove around the downtown area for 90 minutes gaining an understanding of the 300 year history of New Bern in an interesting presentation with two short walks through a graveyard and a historic park.

Google
Outstanding customer service. Booked at tour at Tryon Palace and got lost on the way. Showed up 15 minutes after the tour had left. Sarah and Mike made it happen. Mike found our tour group and told Sarah to send us over. It was a really hot day and Sarah provided us with cold water bottles to cool us down while we waited to see if we were going to be allowed on the tour late. Very personable and kind people. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
My parents and I had a wonderful time on this tour! It's worth the money! Just don't be like some of the people on our tour and go off by yourself, because they were nearly left . We had (Mary I think her name was) she was hilarious, super informative, and just a great tour guide!

Yelp
We had the BEST time! We were celebrating a 64th Birthday! The tour was super interesting even for our Birthday Boy from Askins, NC that has lived near New Bern all of his life. The tour was the perfect amount of time and what a beautiful day for a trolly ride. Gail and David were incredible! David's driving was smooth and not jerky at all ( I normally get super car sick unless I am driving) and Gail was Awesome! We enjoyed how she was detailed about the history of New Bern, threw a funny story in the mix, and even included info about something going on presently. All around energetic and really enjoyable. We would highly recommend to anyone visiting New Bern, NC as well as even getting to learn a bit of history about your own hometown!

Yelp
While visiting New Bern, I had the opportunity to go on a history trolly tour of the city. This was one of the most informative tours I have been on in quite some time. Our guide ( Crystal ) was great, as she was well versed in the city's history and also a great storyteller. You could really tell she loved what she was doing. She recommended books and documentaries to follow up on. I would highly recommend people visiting and even locals to take this tour. The trolley was airconditioned, which was also great on this hot summer day.

Yelp
This was a great tour to introduce us to New Bern history. None of us realized just how much has happened in this small town. Our guides, Wayne and Paul, were awesome! So personable, and provided a lot of interesting facts. We did the 11a tour, which was a necessity for the summer heat. The trolley was air conditioned, but it did struggle to keep up with the extreme heat and humidity. We didn't consider it much of an issue though. The tour itself is only 90 minutes (I totally would've enjoyed longer!) but it gives you a great introduction to historical sites around town so you can stop by independently later. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
If I could give 0 stars I would. You would expect more grace from the tour company but as a few kids in the back of our trolley were getting restless from the constant stop and go every 25 ft. We were chastised with continual comments about our children. We felt very unwelcomed. My friend and I both brought our 18 months olds and 4-year olds, the trolley tour is not conducive to this age range as the slight comments or discomfort from our children created a thick air of annoyance from the docent, Marie, and the other passengers. With a trolley full of older women who I assume have raised their children and help with their grandchildren would have appreciated trying to do something outside of the house with our kids after being stuck indoors over the 3-day weekend due to rain. Next time you see a parent by themselves with kids how about instead of shame you, give them encouragement.

Yelp
The "Trolley Tour" meets just outside the front gates of the Tryon Palace. The tour travels throughout New Bern. The guide shared his deep knowledge of the unique homes, former residents and Civil War facts. There are many engaging stories that help you to a fuller understanding of this historic town.

Yelp
We thoroughly enjoyed the trolley tour of downtown New Bern. The driver, Wayne, did a great job & the guide had so much knowledge. This was recommended to us & we recommend it to others. They no longer require face masks

Yelp
Ok, we love taking trolley tours of cities we visit. This one (10/11/2021 @ 11am) was a little deficient. The trolley itself sounded like it needed maintenance, the A/C didn't work and the microphone didn't work. So the guide had to stand up for 90 minutes and basically shout at us. The tour itself was nice, a lot of information about New Bern and why it's historically significant to NC. The guide also pointed out several old houses and buildings that have been fixed up to their original state. So it was a nice tour but the equipment failures made it a little uncomfortable. Note, was in the area later and saw the 2pm tour leave. They had a nicer, newer bus for that tour, wonder why they didn't use the better one for the morning tour also. Anyway, it was worth the effort but...

Yelp
Really enjoyed the tour yesterday! Great job! Loved the Civil War and the local history!

Pamela B.

Yelp
Docent was very informative and personable. Hour and a half tour gave a good overview of the history of the town pre-revolutionary war forward. The area seems to be so historically rich I would gladly have signed up for a longer tour.
