New California Hotel

Overall, it is a good hotel, especially the location of the MRT and the bus terminal to the airport, which is quite convenient. The room is clean, the breakfast is rich, the counter staff is competent, and the price is reasonable. I will come back to stay again.

I stayed here with my family for a week at the end of March. I picked this hotel because it was conveniently located next to my relatives. MRT is just across the street and buses take you to and from airport, Bus 1968 and cost 155 TWD. ||I arrived to the hotel pretty late and was exhausted from our flight, I was greeted with a grumpy mid-age man wearing glasses that didn’t even look up once or make any eye contact while he was talking to me. He just gave me my room key. I had to ask him about breakfast hours and he seemed very annoyed when he answered. Once I got to the room I realized he did not give me any information on how to log on for WiFi, so I had to call the hotel. The room itself looks a bit rundown and does not look like the pictures. There is mold around the tub/shower. Breakfast buffet is pretty limited to bread, congee with toppings, Chinese dishes and eggs and sausage. Overall, if you are looking for convenience and price I think this is a good place to stay. I wouldn’t expect much customer service and cleanliness. I think this place is family owned and run. I will not be coming back again after my experience.

We initially booked for two nights; ended up staying four. The front desk staff were friendly, the room was clean, the shower was fantastic, and the free breakfast was above and beyond. Beyond the hotel, the river was next door with pleasant walking trails, the Xindian MRT station was a 2 min walk away, and on Sundays there is a market in front of the station with good food and varied items for sale.

Stayed here four times, and experienced several different rooms. There is something uniquely charming about this place that keeps bringing me back! Is it the river views or the birds chirping in the morning or the excellent nearby hiking? ||PROS: Walk to Mt Hemeishan, just across the charming old pedestrian suspension bridge over the river. Nice dining options on the river, or eat local food nearby or over the bridge in Bitan. It's convenient if flying to/from USA, as the hotel is 60-75 minutes on #1968 bus ($135) or Uber (circa 900-1300, depends on traffic and time of day) to/from Taoyuan international airport. Bus stop is 50m from the hotel.||Some rooms have great river views; advance booking of those rooms is essential, especially on weekends. The breakfast room is nice with good river views and there is enough variety at the modest buffet. It feels like you're in the countryside when you stay here -- yet you can walk across the street and hop on the MRT anytime to head into central Taipei. Weekday rates are cheaper and the atmosphere more relaxed when less crowded. I've met an older Taiwanese couple living in Europe who keep returning here as well. Bathrooms have nice showers and all rooms have good amenities for making tea and coffee. Management is extremely kind and friendly, and eager to ensure you have a pleasant stay. Views are best on seventh floor. ||CONS: The housekeeping is not top-notch, but it's typical of a hotel that serves a lot of guests transiting to/from an airport. Occasional mainland Chinese tour groups do the usual annoying forbidden things like smoke in the rooms or burn cigarette stains in the carpets or talk loudly in the hallways; occasionally you'll also note some peeling wallpaper and small rips in the otherwise very clean bedsheets.

one of my best stays in TW!! really love the staffs and of course, its location. just beside the Xindian MRT that takes less than 1min to walk. great bundle as they serve delicious breakfast on 3 different timings to suit your preference. however only thing that is lacking would be the cleanliness of the room as there are dusts on the walls and floor isnt as clean 😅

My daughter and I had a pleasant stay for our 3 days visit in the city. The hotel is situated right next to the MRT and bus station. We took the bus 1968 from the airport and got off at the last stop, which is directly across from the hotel. Stayed for 2 nights. Enjoyed the views, clean room and the buffet breakfasts. Will definitely stay again when we visit Taiwan next time.

It's a non-smoking hotel but the moment you step into the hotel lobby, lift, storey corridor and the room itself, cigarette smell is in the air. I opened the window for a couple of hours to try getting rid the smell.||||Very close to the Xindian MRT station (a 5 min walk) and the Bitan scenic area. I got a room on the 7th floor facing the river, view is decent (not that the view is bad but Bitan itself is not really great as an attraction.) There are also rooms without riverside view so beware. It's a double room, a little small but the bathroom is ok. Flat screen TV by Panasonic and free wifi too. Noise insulation from outside traffic seemed pretty good to me, given the fact that a highway bridge is just beside the hotel. The room air con was the noisy one. Lots of things to eat and convenience stores nearby. There's a night market but if you come during the weekdays, there are bound to be less stalls.

I stayed here a few times when visiting my mom. THis is a small clean hotel with great breakfast! I think for the price and convenience ( right by the MRT station and bus terminals) this is a great value hotel.

Decent place, great location. Some front desk people need hospitality training, but others are very nice. Breakfast is bad, but rooms are clean and they take care of the place. Recommend.
