New Clark City Athletics Stadium

I visited with the engineer who headed the design team responsible for all the structures at New Clark City, including this athletics stadium. He explained to me the design process behind this structure and really interesting details of its construction. For example the span of this stadium which is 120m is so large, that the counterweight needed to balance the crane used here had to be broken up into parts, which then took one week to transport by installment to the building site. Otherwise the counterweight would have destroyed the roads it travelled on from the factory, because the total weight is too much for roads and bridges to carry. A counterweight is the mass needed to stabilise and prevent the crane from tipping, and here it was used to lift into place the gigantic precast structural supports of the stadium. The company behind this project is MTD Group, a building developer and construction company with headquarters in Kuala Lumpur. However the team responsible for New Clark City including this stadium is all Filipino. I'm so amazed and proud, knowing Filipinos are capable of designing and executing a project as complex and exciting as this stadium, even if the corporation itself had foreign ownership.

The stadium was absolutely stunning! We went to the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers, and the Philippines won. It was such a thrilling experience! The atmosphere was incredible, and the stadium itself was truly world class.

The stadium was magnificent and world-class. From the seats to the pitch to the concourse, everything was so modern. The only obvious con is its distance from Metro Manila and that there's literally nothing around it.

Came here for an event, and the free ride via the Clark Loop Bus (it wasn’t called that at the time I think) was a convenient bonus. The place is clean, and the chairs are still in good condition. There are plenty of restrooms. But navigation can be a bit confusing. It would be helpful to have more maps with “You Are Here” markers since the hanging signages aren’t enough, especially for first-timers. If you’re attending a day event during summer, expect it to be really hot. The food stalls invited for the event had issues with ice, making it hard to find a cold drink. Also, there were no tables and chairs outside for those who wanted to sit and eat. As for the grass field, it doesn’t seem like there have been any improvements, despite football fans previously calling it out for being subpar during the last UCFC match. Overall, the experience was okay, but there’s definitely room for improvement.

Proud of this facility hosting the Asian Football Cuo against Tajikistan. Nice world-class open-air stadium.

Almost but not all restrooms are accessible.... Seats are not clean and the pkaygrass is not well-maintained but overall the facility itself is good

Great stadium. I just hope that they'll improve the environment since di pa siya concert friendly. Maalikabok, Mainit and Walang Hangin. Really hope that they'll work on this before conducting a new Concert/Tour that will happen here.
