Finally came to this restaurant for lunch. I was looking forward to the pasta. The crab meat lasagna was really delicious😋. It is better to make an appointment before coming here. Otherwise, you have to wait for about 30 minutes. The service of the staff is very good. After eating, you can also go to the store next door to buy ham and cheese. Because the cheese is so delicious, I asked the staff to tell me the name of the cheese. Thank you for giving me such a wonderful day. I will come again. Thank you🫶🫶🫶

So many people had recommended The Deli New Farm to me that I was truly excited to finally try it. Overall, it was a nice experience, especially considering how busy the place always is. Definitely make a booking in advance – it’s clearly a popular spot! Most of the food was quite good, but I was disappointed by the lemon meringue tart. It was small, lacked flavour, and tasted more like something frozen than freshly made. The service was friendly, though not particularly outstanding. That said, the real highlight for me was the range of products they sell – the cheeses and charcuterie are absolutely top-notch. You can tell a lot of care goes into sourcing them. All in all, a pleasant visit, but I did find it a bit overpriced for what you get.

Loved it. Went with friends for a quick lunch. It was packed as always and we waited for about 20-30 minutes before getting a table. It is the Truffles special season this week. The food is absolutely beautiful except not many vegetarian dishes that could accommodate my request. But my friends enjoyed their lunch which was wonderful. 😊

Wow wow wow. Jumps straight to my favourite list. Great selection of meats, cheeses, gifts and everything else in between. Had panini and marinara pasta. Both perfect. Exactly as described. Fresh, top quality ingredients. No complaints, completely satisfied. Happy for the first time in a long time. Impressed. Note to self. Extra chilli and olive oil on my pasta next time.

Something sweet and something savoury! Everything was delicious. It is definitely not just a deli! Fabulous atmosphere, great food. It was a bit of a wait so we decided to opt for a takeaway. That too took time.. I will definitely be back to dine-in.

The busiest spot in New Farm—and for good reason! This place ticked all the boxes. 1) Calamari Salad✅✅✅ The calamari here is far superior to the one I had at another fine dining restaurant earlier this week—twice the size and cooked to perfection. No wonder all the Italians are here for Monday lunch! 2) Marinara Rossa con Spaghetti✅✅✅ The seafood is incredibly fresh, and the spaghetti is just right—not too oily, with a well-balanced amount of sauce. 3) Octopus Salad✅✅✅ I only had a small bite, but I wish I had ordered it for myself! Generous portion and absolutely delicious. 4) Pear Ricotta✅✅✅ Not too sweet, which I really liked! Creamy but not overly heavy—a perfect balance. 5) Torta Italiana✅✅ A great combination of flavors!

Such an iconic Deli. It’s a must see ! I recently bought some amazing products from New Farm Deli for a surprise picnic. We had a very specific list of requirements. The entire staff bent over backwards to accommodate our requests and came up with a truly unique menu of wines, cheeses, meats , crackers and sweets. It made the surprise even more special for the recipient. All of the departments worked seamlessly together to make it a success. Well done NFD. You are truly exceptional.

While the food is good, the service needs to improve. Recently having been a few times the service needs to be better. When you are only allowed 1.5 hours for your booked table and it takes 40 minutes for the waiter to come and serve you to then be told you only have less than an hour on the table it’s really unfair. By the time our food and drinks arrived and then receiving the bill stating we needed to leave I couldn’t even finish my coffee. If you are only given 1.5 hours for a table you need to be serving tables straightaway. It shouldn’t be on the paying customer to be disadvantaged. The food might be good but there are many other places in Brisbane with good food. The service needs to be a lot better, new farm is filled with so many other good places to eat. It is not a place if you want to have a good catch up with people especially those who travel to then be limited by time with a table. Good for a quick in and out with. Also the avocado on toast (breakfast) dish needs big improvement not worth the $$$. Can be made better at home by anyone.

Yelp
We had a dreadful experience yesterday upon picking up a $75 Crab Lasagna for a special family event that night. We had specifically requested the lasagna be UNCOOKED as we were picking it up at around 1:00pm to eat for dinner at around 6:00pm that night. Upon advising we were there to collect an order, the friendly staff member behind the counter presented us with a COOKED lasagna. Upon questioning this and stating that we had ordered it UNCOOKED, the staff manager said "sorry let me get my manager". This is where it all went downhill very quickly. The "manager", an arrogant, rude man with a French accent came over and abruptly stated "WHAT'S THE PROBLEM". A little dumbfounded, we explained that the lasagna was supposed to be uncooked as we were eating it 5 hours later for dinner. The "manager" then said words to the effect of "DEAL WITH IT, it will be fine, I've saved you time, just stick it back in the oven or the fridge". Again, absolutely baffled that a manager would speak to a paying customer like this we enquired that it might make us sick given it was seafood, He abruptly stated, "IT WILL BE FINE". After a heated argument he stormed off and left us with our salmonella riddled lukewarm lasagna to eat at 6:00pm that night. The original staff member, also a little rattled at how this pig of a man spoke to us, apologized profusely on his behalf however not so much of an apology from the manager for his disgusting behavior, not so much as an acknowledgment that he had cocked up the order, no offer of how can we make this right for you mr and mrs customer, nothing. To make matters worse, we followed his instructions on how to keep the lasagna edible until dinner time and every single person that ate it went to bed and woke up with a queezy stomach and violent diarrhea. I hate to say I told you so mate, but we told you so. What an arrogant pig, this is the second instance we have had the same behavior from this "manager" who clearly hasn't got a clue of how to deal with paying customers. I feel sorry for the staff members, and the owners of this wonderful restaurant having this man as the face of their business. How appalling, shame on you.

Yelp
Back and busier than ever! Fire and COVID have not slowed this place - it's refurbished, shiny and new. Parking is shared with other shops in the site but usually can find a spot. There are queues at peak times but it's worth the wait - in door or outdoor. Coffee is excellent. A large menu - checkout the counters for pre-made panini or baguettes, desserts to water your mouth. Do yourself a favour and try it - as good as ever!

Yelp
TOP SPOT ! My wife and I had lunch here a few times when we lived in Norman Park. The food was always superb and we thoroughly loved our cappuccinos. There was always something worth buying to take home for later. Definitely one of the best cafes in my hometown Brisbane !

Yelp
Deli Review! This deli was recommended and endorsed by our French friends for their delicious selection of cheeses. And it is true!! Amazing selection or gourmet cheese, meat, breads olives and more. Perfect spot to stock up the pantry, purchase for a picnic or prep for a party. The helpful staff will help you make a selection of you tell them what you like and everything can be tasted before you make a decision- my kinda place!

Yelp
This place has history, or so it goes. We frequently walk by the place and occasionally stop for a bite to eat or for some specialty products from the deli. This always happens in the weekend, and we are not the only ones! The café can get quite busy and the feeling you get inside can be a bit hectic; I highly recommend picking a table outside, even if that means you sit sort of in the car park. The breakfast usually does not blow us away although they have some interesting / different options on the menu. The smoked salmon is great. The deli portion of the business is excellent. Not big, but with a good range of products, including cheeses, meats and product with longer shelf-life items. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly.

Yelp
The New Farm Deli & Cafe is a Brisbane institution and our oldest deli, serving customers since 1977. I usually visit for breakfast, and there are plenty of delights on offer. Breakfast highlights include the hash browns (with anything - a home made hash brown is a beautiful thing) and the big breakfasts, which are excellent value for money. They also do a napoli style french toast, which is savoury with an outstanding napoli sauce and is something you won't find at any other cafe in Brisbane. The deli cafe has extensive breakfast, lunch and pasta menu's, if possible you should scout the board from the back of the queue as the ordering pressure can be intense on a busy Sunday morning. The deli section has a fantastic array of cheeses, meats and anti pasti, as well as a great gourmet frozen section and some very interesting dry goods. You pay a premium, however the quality is great and some of their products are very hard to find. Be warned this tiny little space gets PACKED on weekends, so you should try visit outside of peak times. My only real gripe with this business is that kitchen closes at 4pm, something I've never understood. I am rarely hungry enough at lunch times to do their menu justice and Brisbane is still lacking an excellent Italian dinner spot.

Yelp
New Farm Deli has always been a favourite of mine. It's the best place to get coffee in Merthyr Village - their brews have always been of a high standard and the milk is rarely too hot. It's almost impossible to get a table in peak times, particularly weekends. The Deli has become somewhat of a hot spot, well loved by locals and by visitors to the area. It's the deli section of the Deli which really sets it apart (surprise surprise). They have an absolutely impeccable range of cured meats, cheeses, antipasto ingredients especially amazing olives, imported organic pastas and jars of sun dried tomatoes and pesto and practically everything else you can think of. I'm now dying to try the napoli style French toast after the recommendations of another Yelper and I agree - having old Italian women serve you brings an air legitimacy to the whole experience.

Yelp
New Farm Deli is a little cafe and delicatessen located in a prime location in New Farm. I came here on during a busy Friday lunch time session and although I found the food pretty good, not everything about this place tickled my fancy. Now, onto my busy Friday lunch time story... I came here with a friend for coffee and a sandwich. Everything went swimmingly from placing my order and receiving our coffees. I was impressed by the 'latte art' on my coffee as it had 'soy' written in cursive writing. The one thing we found odd was how it too 15 minutes after I had received my sandwich for my friend to receive his. This was frustrating as I had almost finish my meal by the time he received his. Thankfully, we were in no rush but I can imagine this would annoy a few people. How was the food? It was pretty darn good to be honest. Sandwiches are not usually very impressive things but you could tell this place uses fresh produce and good quality meat. I like to think my friend and I were unlucky that time we went there because this place does seem very busy and must have a lot of loyal clients. Because of this experience I can not rate this place higher than 3 stars.

Yelp
If you love olives, cheese and any sort of Italian goodies of the food kind, this place is a must because there is stacks of choice and everything looks fab. I was particularly impressed with the large selection of vegetarian ravioli in the fridge. I don't have much of a sweet tooth, but I could have sworn the tiramisu was also making eyes at me. It looked pretty tempting, and if I ate meat, I'm sure the cured meats available would have made me drool (rather than gag and avert my eyes). I didn't get a chance to sit down and eat here as the café was not open, just the deli, which had hordes of customers. That being the case I can only comment on the deli. My one complaint is that the deli section is actually quite pokey, and this is awkward given how popular it is.

Yelp
For anyone in the New Farm area, New Farm Deli & Cafe is a great place to meet and catch up over a coffee and a meal. The popular joint has been serving the area for years and there's a sense of family when you're there. When I went along recently I managed to snag a seat in the outdoor area with a friend for lunch, and from what I gather from my walks past this can sometimes be hard as it has a lot of loyal regulars. The coffee wasn't the best I have ever had but I was thoroughly impressed with the food! We both had a pasta dish each and some bread to share and it was delicious! And very reasonably priced. To say it is a deli first and a restaurant second would downplay the excellent menu. The deli itself is lovely but very small, which makes it difficult not to head butt people when it's busy. It offers the usual cheeses and cold meats, olives and antipastos. All of those things that make delicatessens such mouth-watering places to shop. Overall it was a pleasant dining experience but given it's popularity I think my next visit will depend on opportunity when I walk past.

Yelp
There's a very good reason it can be difficult to get a table here on the weekend. Sold by the original owners a few years back, run into the ground, then bought back by the original owners, this place is well and truly back to its prime. As a deli, there's far too much amazing food to choose from. So many meats, cheeses, olives, breads etc... Even countless different types of Balsamic Vinegar, from $10 a bottle to $200 for a tiny bottle! The staff are extremely knowledgeable about all of their products, very friendly no matter how busy it is. The cafe part of the deli is a perfect little Italy. Beautiful but simple Italian meals, just the right price for the quality. No you don't get table service, but they're all about the food, and that's why everyone comes here!!

Yelp
My partner ordered a picnic hamper from New Farm Deli for my birthday picnic last weekend, and I must say I was really impressed! Delicious breads, cheeses, deli meats, a selection of antipasto vegetables (including some of the most delicious marinated mushrooms I've ever had), and 2 pieces of delicious cheesecake. After reading other reviews - will definitely have to go back for a coffee.

Yelp
For slightly more exotic fare than you can pick up at the average supermarket, New Farm deli is the place to visit. Fresh pastas, all manner of beans and legumes, cheeses, meats, and preserves and pastes of every description are just some of the products you'll find in the shop section, while delicious breakfasts and lunch are served next door in the café. As one of the trendy hotspots in New Farm, the Deli is always quite busy, so be prepared for a bit of a wait. Coles is right next door, so it's a great place to stop for a coffee before your grocery shop.

Yelp
Pretty lovely for what you get. Remembering you're in the expensive side of town, this is a great deli with an awesome arrange of produce. They also have great pasta, coffee and cakes. My friends and I often take our Mum's here on a Sunday, for something a little special. Not blow-your-mind-amazing kind of food, but it's a great location, good atmosphere and has amazing foot traffic so you can people watch to your heart's content. The staff also aren't too precious, so they're happy to let you sit and chat the afternoon away.

Yelp
Overpriced, but pretty good. I ordered a risotto with prawns and it cost 25 dollars and had 3 prawns. It also was a bit overly seasoned as I have come to know Brisbane food. The wine selection looks nice as does the cheese selection. I suggest getting take away and heading to the park, as the inside is crowded and their is not much of an ambiance. More diner feel than upscale Italian eatery feel

Yelp
The deli section of New Farm deli is excellent, and if I were reviewing it by itself I'd give it five stars. The selection of cheeses, olives, deli meats, and other gourmet treats is unsurpassed in Brisbane. I love the cramped, bustling feel of the place and the old Italian women who serve you. The cafe part of the New Farm Deli has slipped in recent years (change of owner, I believe) and although they still do delicious paninis, focaccias, and custom sandwiches, some of the other menu items leave me a bit disappointed. The pasta is often cooked past the point of al dente, and some of the sauces are a bit meh. The salads are often dripping in way too much olive oil (which is a shame because the tomatoes and fetta are so tasty). The main thing that I find to have gone downhill at the cafe is the breakfasts. These days the breakfasts come out with thick, tip-top style bread covered in too much butter, and the mushrooms and eggs are kind of sloppy. If you want a delicious panini or to stock up on some deli items to take home, the New Farm Deli lives up to its reputation. Unfortunately it seems to have dropped the ball on breakfasts and main meals somewhat.

Yelp
I agree with a few of the posts here that New Farm Deli lost its way in recent years with the new owners. But, if you're not aware of it, the original owners (Vince & Maria) have bought the deli back! They are in the process of bringing it up to speed again & already I have noticed an improvement in service, coffee and the food. Mind you I usually go there for breakfast early on weekdays so it's not very busy then. But great to have Vince & Maria back. They are passionate about the Deli & giving people the best experience.

Yelp
New Farm Deli really ticks all the boxes. Need to pick up some good olives, cheeses and meats for an antipasto platter? Head to their deli counter. Want a fresh pasta and pasta sauce for dinner but don't want to cook? Go to their freezer section. Need to get a last minute gift for someone or for yourself? Get one of their many beautiful oils, vinegars and condiments. Feel like meeting a friend for breakfast or just grab a great sandwhich and coffee to go? Hit up the cafe. Need to dump a body and establish a rock solid alibi? Might want to give it a miss. But you get the idea, New Farm Deli is a veritable one stop shop. For a place that is always busy, the service is fast and friendly and the food always hits the spot. whether it is their big, juicy Italian meatball burger or one of their many salad options. My only advice would be not to move the table numbers, they really don't like it when you do that.

Yelp
Fabulous brekky spot but so popular if you have more than 4 definitely book ahead. But you can always get takeaway and picnic in new farm park! It also has a fabulous delicatessen where you can buy amazing cheeses and cured meats.

Yelp
Delicious home made pasta and fantastic sandwiches and salads. Great spot with friendly staff. They run a tight ship here to contend with a high volume of customers!

Yelp
Any cafe that has a no hot water refill policy for tea is one tragic eatery. I left immediately as I figured they would probably charge me for the sugar too.

Lisa W.

Yelp
A no-nonsense gourmet eatery with seriously good coffee AND... with a combined (fantastic) deli is an absolute discovery! Loved the scnitzel panini and the frittata. So glad we've moved close by so we can eat our way through the menu!
