New Helvetia Hotel

It's not just a hotel it's an experience. Me and my family loved everything about this place the sound, the view, the smile of the wooden interiors. It's a family run hotel and the staff and owners are helpful and amazing. The view is stunning, and you feel you are nesting between the trees. Breakfast is limited but the quality is high which is perfect for this type of experience. I would like to thank Mr. George for the great welcome and would definitely come back again.

A hotel with lots of character and history nestled amongst mature pine trees on the outskirts of Platres. The staff are polite, very helpful and accommodating. My wife and I stayed in a maisonette suite with recently refitted modern bathroom with shower. Air conditioning was also available. A small balcony overlooked the external terrace area. The continental style self service breakfast was good with a selection cereals, breads, cheese, yogurt, fried and hard boiled eggs. This is not a modern glitzy hotel but one with a heritage and old world charm. We made use of the bar facilities which is comprehensively stocked with a good knowledge of cocktails! My stay at this mountain hotel in Platres was absolutely unforgettable. Nestled among the pine trees and fresh mountain air, it was the perfect escape from the noise of the city. From the warm welcome at check-in to the attentive service throughout, the staff went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable and relaxing experience. The room had a cozy, rustic charm with modern touches, a balcony overlooking the forest, and the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in in ages.

It was an incredible pleasure to stay at the New Helvetia Hotel! The location and the view from the windows are stunning with all the pine trees right next to the balconies and the mountain views all around. The birds (nightingales, as we learned) were singing all the time adding to the atmosphere of the place. The hotel is very close to the hiking trails. The hotel itself is a historical building with the hall, dining room, drawing room and the stairs styled accordingly. My husband and I felt like we had stepped straight into an Agatha Christie novel. There is a couple of fireplaces in the common areas, one of which was lit when we asked about it. There are board games as well, and we spent a lovely evening by the fireplace playing chess. The room we had was small, but functional, with two balconies with amazing views. The bathroom was modernized and very clean. It was also very quiet (we could hear only the birds singing). The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We are grateful to them for this experience. All in all, it was an amazing stay which I would recommend to everyone. We hope to come here again!

Very nice experience! The hotel has recently undergone a major renovation and rooms were very nice without losing the historic character. Booked a room for a couple with two children. They upgrade us to a bigger room to suit our needs better. Family business so the owners are always there and are hands on. Friendly staff always willing to help.

Beautiful Hotel in the Heart of Nature! Clean, Cozy and full of character that goes back almost 100 years. Staff are amazing and the location is perfect for relaxing or exploring the surrounding trails. Highly recommended, truly a hidden gem!

Excellent location, perfect weekend escape. Lovely staff they accommodated all of our needs. ||Platres is a great village to explore with you friends. Pleanty hiking trail options and great Cypriot food.

New Helvetia Hotel, the oldest hotel in Cyprus, has recently been beautifully renovated. Nestled in the heart of the Platres forest, it offers a cozy atmosphere and absolutely stunning natural surroundings. Each time we visit, the experience is deeply soul-nurturing — a true retreat for the senses.
