New Hollywood Plaza

One of my favorite places in LA. Here you can get an amazing lunch special, Taiwanese bubble tea, late night eats, shabu shabu, AYCE, Thai desserts, groceries and snacks. Cultural gold mine. I've been coming here for decades for all the right reasons. Try the spicy raw crab "Thai Spicy" if you are an expert in competitive spicy eating competitions and want new bragging rights or a challenge. In the late nineties, several Thai businesses decided to keep their businesses open very late to accommodate closing time at Hollywood bars and clubs in an effort to reduce DUI fatalities and to help keep people safe in the community. My friends and I love those restaurants and we frequently dined there and referred our friends to here before driving home to show our support. Always a great meal! Over the years, the businesses here continue to grow and thrive. Come here for legendary good vibes and epic food for a great bargain. Five star friendly people hang out here too. Great place to trade smiles! Five million stars.:)

Lots of places to eat here, yes they are all thai restaurants. They are good. At the very back of the plaza there is a restaurant that did renovations they have these big booth like tables that really give you more privacy, which I love. Parking seems to be valet parking only, don't really know since I walk here. There is one sushi place (I think it's the only one I have not tried. Crispy pork did change ownership or management at some point and the food did improve. Anyway there are lots of places here to try something new everytime you come. If you didn't like the food in one place go to another the next time, even if you did be a spoon explorer.

Authentic Thai market in the middle of Thai town in Hollywood. We’ve become we’ve been to this market since the mid 80s since I am married to a Thai lady for the last 42 years. We come from Orange County at least once a month to stock up on Thai sundries.

It was kind of cold because they had had the front door open in the evening. The food was good and presented well pay attention to your final bill because the tip amount was different when I went to get my card at the register. The waitress was nice and available when needed all employees were tentative

There's an epically delicious Thai Bakery/Sweets shop. Get anything made with the young coconut! Everything is delicious! The Thai restaurants are all unique in their own recipe and cooking style. Visit the smaller ones for a more traditional homestyle ambiance and flavor.

3 star because of the valet parking situation, there is a scam. The Valet said if I park my own car, it is $6, but if you let them park, your car is $3. Got charged $6 for parking my own and went to eating at one of the restaurants in the plaza. The restaurant owner said you are only supposed to get charged $3 after the stamp on the ticket. It got me very suspicious because the valet wanted to park your car for a cheaper price and hold on to your keys so they could search your car for any valueble. As I was leaving, I saw one of the valet employees reverse the customer car and lightly hit the curb and stretch the bottom of the customer bumper. Park here at your own risk if you trust the valet

No self park. Horrible! What a scam to have to valet park. the customers should have a choice if the they want to valet park Or not.

1 1/2 minute read: Yesterday (11/30/23) we drove up Hollywood Blvd seeking a Thai restaurant (OCHA). Trust me, on Hollywood Blvd there is no lack of them. We drove into New Hollywood Plaza, as my wife & I were lured by a big banner that advertised CRISPY PORK I didn't see any Valet. The parking is somewhat tight and there's 2 or three Handicapspaces. We strolled around (the Plaza) a bit, which isn't what you'd call a big place. Unfortunately, during this visit, we didn't patronize any of the few restaurants there. Not because we weren't hungry but because we just wanted to see what was there. We were bent on going to another Thai restaurant called OCHA, down the road'a'piece from the New Hollywood Plaza. But when we DO choose one of them, I'll report it later. Thanks.
