New Hotel of Marseille

"With its bold graphics and contemporary art, the 100-room New Hotel injects South Beach style into this old port city. Herb gardens that supply the restaurant's Alain Ducasse–trained chef, Jérôme Polio, line the front steps and establish the hotel’s studied character. The sleek reception area was created from a handsome nineteenth-century building, and the adjacent art-filled bar and restaurant overlook a wood-decked pool. Compact white guest rooms are dominated with colorful artwork (including blown-up photos of sixties model Twiggy), wood furniture is stained battleship gray, and bathrooms are stocked with La Compagnie de Provence Marseille’s toiletries based on the city’s famous olive oil soap. The friendly staff, who wear black uniforms with lettering that identifies their duties add to the hotel’s merry atmosphere. Though not in the city center, the quiet residential location at the entrance to Marseille’s port is convenient—a downtown bus stops at the front door, and the Plage des Catalans is a five-minute walk away."

Visited this wonderful hotel last week. The staff were so welcoming and helpful. It is exceptionally clean and calm, also ideally situated. Breakfast was excellent, a full array of tantalising food, fresh fruit, delicious home made granola, hot and cold delights! We will definitely go back !

Great room, location. Helpful and frendly staff! 5/5 experience. Breakfast was good. Pool area was clean and towels provided by hotel and extra points of yacuzzi! Bic balcony on fourth floor with stunning view makes us think we will come back someday.

We stayed at the New Hotel of Marseille for one night during our roadtrip through Europe and this was one of the most pleasant experiences we had. Location Perfect location neaby the Marseille harbour where you are a walking distance away from all amazing restaurants and sights in the city Check-in No problem at all, very informative and friendly. Rooms The rooms are up-to-date, clean and offers everything you need. Sufficient AC, comfy beds and clean bathroom. Pool area We hung out by the pool throughout the late afternoon and the pool and surrounding area around it is nice with great service. Would absolutely recommend an afternoon here with a drink or two. Parking The hotel is connected to the Q-Park Pharo parking facility where we booked a spot in advance. The parking space is in comparison to other parking solutions in Europe of high quality and we could easily enter and leave the facility without any hassle. We are for sure coming back!

Had a great visit to this hotel, the staff were lovely. The hotel offers a beautiful base from which to explore Marseille. Breakfast in particular was absolutely superb! |For an enjoyable view of the port, the ferry boat is a must while you're there =]

Hotel okayish & everything walking distance. However, not 4 stars. Seemed as it is not main season and everything looked not much prepared yet. Complementary, worst experience with the receptionists. Super unfriendly, very much not helpful. Did not even looked up or said hi. Kinda disrespectful to me as a women (& younger). Did not explained anything for the Hotel Checkin. Had to ask every question myself. We already had lowered expectations in France (generally) as they are usually not much service oriented (and let u feel they hate speaking English), however, he managed to go even lower. Did very much felt unwelcomed as guest. The receptionst really managed to let us question, if he is in the right position to represent a hotel & welcome guest or even interact with them. No presence, negative and below supportive. (Time: 27th May 2025 around 2pm - elderly & with glasses // younger colleague at least helped with the bags. Talked french to each other and gave very unpleasant vibe and somewhat arrogant. Could not tell if this was the case as we had the audacity to ask questions (poole usage prio checkin possible etc. where they did not dropped a word). Met othet guest and they had the same. Funfact: was my birthday and he had my ID in his hads and did not said anything as well haha - not that he had too, but at least this would be my bare minimum for human interaction lol) Would appreciate to give a other review, however, not the case. Do the hotel a favor and protect other guests of this experience.

As I write this I am sitting on a balcony from which I can see the old port and a part of the sea. The staff has gone above and beyond to accommodate us. Would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful hotel. Good location. Nice room. Mattress was dipped on left side and felt like sleeping in a hole. Bathroom was nicely decorated however getting in and out of Bath was a bit scary, nothing to hold on to. Very quiet, good view. Ate at restaurant for dinner. Cod dish, no flavor a bit dry. Duck with sweet potato, amazing. Breakfast bar was done very well, great selections. Everything was fresh! We enjoyed our stay. Parking was very convenient, under hotel!!!

We took a suite with balcony so we could watch the New Years eve fireworks. This fabulous city does not do fireworks ! Grrr!|The room was generous, the balcony huge, and the bed comfy. The staff were great. The breakfast 5 star on day one and 3 star day two as the cake was re-cycled from the previous day. The evening bar food was poor and dull. (We went over the road to the Sofitel roof bar the next night and that was great). However, this modern hotel favours design over function. Just one example; the toilet in the room, not big enough to swing a towel, was situated in the lounge area and was 15 paces to the nearest sink not to mention how unpleasant it was for the person using the desk! And, but this was probably maintenance department stuff, the sliding glass doors between bathroom and bedroom did not close by 20cm. It's the little things that make or break.|Great location with a carpark underneath with discounted parking prices via the helpful reception.

Yelp
Great location. Modern and chic vibe. Comfortable rooms. Great front desk staff. Breakfast was good. The Hummus from their on- site Lebanese restaurant was one of the best Hummus' I've had the privilege to enjoy. The TGV train station and the Marseille airport was a sub-20 Euro Uber ride away. I highly recommend New Hotel in Marseille.

Yelp
Great hotel, very central, really friendly reception staff so off to a great start! The lift was quite quaint and then the room matched expectations. Slightly small - but it is France where all rooms are not massive - and it was all fitted out with great modern furniture. Did not do breakfast - but unlike previous entries - was able to find some nice places for food, coffees, etc.

Yelp
Nice hotel in a great neighbourhood overlooking the old port. Wireless Internet was a problem which I complained about several times with no resolution to the problem. Access is available in the lobby, but unavailable in the rooms. It's an issue that the hotel did not solve.
