14 Essential Colorado Breweries to Visit in 2022 - AFAR

"Looking for a boundary-pushing IPA? Try New Image Brewing. At any given time, more than half of the brews at its two locations (the OG Arvada and the newer Wheat Ridge) are IPAs crafted with the latest (and often hardest to find) hop varieties." - Bailey Berg

After trying this pizza today, I am becoming a regular…. Great pizza, even a better beer, amazing atmosphere, friendly and kind personnel, you won’t be disappoint… Will try Thursday night trivial with the family.

ABC Custom Framing

Google
This is our favorite place to get caught up on emails, pay bills, and schedule appointments. Great WiFi. The beer is good too! 😂 Oh yeah, the beer-pizza combo is classic and very much appreciated. The bar and the bathrooms are always clean and it’s always a good day if Mike is behind the bar! Cheers!!!

Stopped in for a beer and food. Beer is fantastic and the pizza (Margherita) is absolutely awesome. Just got back from Napoli and the pizza is similar to here. Phenomenal! Must have. Had the Nine Barley wine age stout and West Coast IPA. Sooo Good! Well done! Cheers!

Very busy place last night with lots of tables and food beers. They had a trivia night which was starting at 7p in the back and since I was leaving soon didn’t try to join. Tried a few IPAS and they were pretty tasty. Did smaller sampler sizes. Had a pizza trunk out front that made smaller size pizzas that looked good just too full to eat here too. It was worth the drive

Google
Love this place. The beer is great and we really like the pizza too. For sure a go to for us with friends from up north as it is a good mid point. Great work on the beer and keep the east coast transplant coming! FYI, the daily specials on the weekday are amazing, but the online version looks to be outdated. I'm posting the Pic of the updated specials as of 12/23/24.

Finally visited The newest location! I prefer this one since the parking was a lot better than og spot. Always Great beers on tap and for cans to go. They had an oven fire Pizza truck for food that day I opted for the Olives. Friendly staff and the place was clean.

Google
I really liked this place! My hubby had the works and I had the whatever floats ya goat. I like my pizza to be thin and fresh ingredients. Also the beer was very refreshing. On Mondays they have $3 off any pizza so we went on a Monday.

Google
Very calming atmosphere - I love what they did with the ceiling as it helps the acoustics a lot. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The beers were so clean and so so good. The hazy IPAs were a little hoppier than expected, but not bad. Overall a good place to chill out and relax.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to go. Great beers, great service and excellent pizza if you are there for food. Parking can be a challenge as the lot is small, but there is parking down side streets nearby. It can get loud if it is crowded, but the energy is great. I had Baby Barista a mocha, coffee stout. Delish! I love my dark beers!

Yelp
Went there for a birthday party. The kids loved the pizza. Our beers were tasty. It can be noisy.

Yelp
First time to this location. Really enjoy NI beers. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Not a lot of tables inside but it looks like they have a good size outdoor area. They have more seating in the back of building but maybe just for special occasions. I got a key lime sour from them which was amazing. Then we were there a day after Lyric Brewing (contract brewery out of NI) had their anniversary party. And they had a few beers still on tap. So good. So much hazy! Went there on 7/13/25. Cheers!

Yelp
Loved the vibe here! I'm not a huge beer person, but Shawnee was so knowledgeable and accommodating to my taste, I loved everything I tried! She made perfect recommendations. The environment is sleek, mellow, and the pizza was delicious. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
... a top 3 favorite brewery in my house! We absolutely love picking up New Image at our local liquor store, but it's an even bigger treasure when you can stop into their Wheat Ridge or Arvada location. Why? Because a draft beer after a looooooong week is like smelling popcorn when you walk into a movie theater. Instantly, you begin to unwind knowing all you have to do for the next hour and a half (or longer) is enjoy the experience! We are HUGE fans of their Hazy IPAs. They have some of the best in Denver with my recent favorite being the Quad Dub. It's a refreshing, velvety mouthful. We loved it so much that we drove to the Arvada location right after to pick up two four packs, because they were out of to-gos. Clearly, that says something! Haha. :D The bonus about this location... there's delicious oven-fired pizza available! Now, I'm a BIG PIZZA gal and my husband is a BIG PIZZA guy. We were shocked, maybe floored on how T to the A to the S to the T to the Y these pies were. The crust was crispy, chewy and the perfect vessel for the traditional or unique toppings one could order. We ordered: PEPPERONI (add onions, we love them!) tomato sauce, mozzarella, jumbo pepperoni SPRING PESTO kale-walnut pesto, mozzarella, duck prosciutto, kale, mandarinquats They were equally phe-nom-nom-nom-able... nom'd fully in minutes lol. However, I'll be honest I cannot get the SPRING PESTO out of my mind. We've been craving it since we got it and have had to actively combat our, "Do you feel like pizza? Should we go to New Image?." Thankfully, we have OK-self control. Jk, we'll probably stop in this weekend. ;D ***Important Update: 2 weeks later, I went back for the Spring Pesto Pizza.***

Yelp
Great beers and convenient location. Good variety of creative brews. They also have thin crust pizza and salads.

Yelp
I'll admit, I'm not much of a beer drinker these days. Sure, I can appreciate a good brew, but it hasn't been my drink of choice these days. However, when an uncle from Wisconsin visits from out of town wanting to sample all the local brews, you do the research and find a spot all can enjoy. New Image Brewing checked all the boxes we were looking for, for our party of 4. Located not downtown yet halfway for both parties. CHECK. Large interior with a variety of seating, spacious bar and huge outdoor patio. CHECK. Lively atmosphere with live music options outside and ability to chat inside. CHECK. Delicious menu offerings - aka house made pizza by the attached food truck with a massive pizza oven. CHECK. A killer variety of brews on tap, ranging in styles, color, and flavor, with the ability to try them all on a flight. CHECK. Beertenders that know their stuff, willing to recommend their favorites and have fun with each patron. CHECK. Decent pricing so no one breaks the bank. CHECK. I'd easily return to this location as we had one hell of a Saturday afternoon! Cheers!

Yelp
An amazing brewery known for their IPA selection. They've been around the Denver beer scene for a while and always make quality beer. The price point is a little higher than most breweries but I've never been disappointed in their selection. As a plus you can get pizza from the truck out front! The staff are great, its in a quieter part of town and the space is airy on a nice day. Check it out!

Yelp
We came for small-tober fest, which lived up to its name, with a vendor outside serving brats and other foods, and a Donovan frakenreiter-esque singer. They offered two of their beers for sale on a coaster system for $16 for four. The service and the interior were friendly and sleek. Loved the music choices and the skateboard contest on the tv. We had the orange wit beer and the west coast IPA. They definitely do some fun experiments with other types of hops, so if that's to your taste I would recommend!

Yelp
Just an awesome brewery. Fantastic beers, especially the barrel-aged dark beers & IPAs. They have lots of cocktail and non-alcoholic options, as well. There is a permanent food truck out front. You order from the bar. They are dishing up wood fired pizzas, sandwiches and salads. Great event space in the back barrel room. Holds about 50 people and has A/V capabilities. We have watched movies, done karaoke & watched comedy shows there. Pro Tip: Check out the Monthly Free Comedy Show! It's outstanding. There is off street parking, but it can be pretty full during busy times. Wear your walking shoes and be prepared to park a block away if the lot is full.

Yelp
I didn't know New Image Brewing existed until I discovered their sleek Wheat Ridge tasting room. Such a lively atmosphere here with a clear set of regulars. I planned to meet up with a friend, so I got here early, found a spot in their parking lot out front, and sat at one of the tables doing work on my laptop (hooray for Wi-Fi connection!!) while waiting. Ordered a Dream Flayer Triple IPA which was new at the time. Got a second beer (can't remember which) that I liked more, but I enjoyed the experimentation with different flavors. The food truck outside has pizza and garlic bread. There's seats at the bar or community tables, but I'd really like to come back again when the weather is warmer and sit on their patio.

Yelp
4.5 stars New Image (NI) has proven itself as one of the state's elite brewers. With the opening of a second location, they added a new dimension to their taproom experience. This one hits all the right notes, with friendly service, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, scrumptious Neapolitan-style pizza, and of course, plenty of NI's outstanding brews. This was my second visit in a year. BEERS Count on a solid selection of IPAs across the spectrum of the style, potent barrel-aged stouts, fruited sours, lagers, and more. They balance innovation, taste, and quality like few others. IMO, their hazy IPAs with double, triple, even quadruple dry hopping are hard to top. I enjoyed a barleywine aged on fresh oak that was far too easy to drink for 15.4% abv, and the Quaduple Double 1 More Time hazy DIPA. Both were delicious. PIZZA Cooked in a truck outside, you can order "Social Dough" pizza from the bar. I highly recommend this. I had no expectations, but discovered one of the best Neapolitan-style pies I can remember around the Front Range. Sauce zings. Festooned with toppings, the crust comes nicely burned on the edges, but chewy and delicious everywhere else. I wished I'd taken one home. SPACE Indoors, find seating at the bar, at tables, or at the long bar-like table for four. There's plenty of space and it feels roomy, cheery. Outside, choose between a few tables on a front patio or picnic tables next to the building. SERVICE Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable about the beers. Check. While NI's original taproom remains a solid option, their menu differs. If it's pizza or a salad, the Wheat Ridge location is your place--even if it's practically a half-day trip coming from East Denver.

Yelp
The beer was ice cold, the pizza was amazing , and the service was great! The sausage on the pizza was crazy good! I love this place!

Yelp
New Image isn't new to the Denver beer scene, however they're boasting a brand new taproom on 44th in Wheat Ridge. And who are we to complain about even more brewery options...especially when they boast an actual parking lot?! Admittedly, I've never been to the OG brewery in Arvada (walked by it so many times) but I'm a big fan of their beer. They can such a large quantity of their beers that you'll find them in almost any place that sells craft beer. Touché, homies. The new taproom is just that. Sleek and shiny, it still has that new car smell. Decor/atmosphere-wise, a bit plain to the naked eye and I hope they spruce it up inside. There's a community table, bar seating, and mostly four top tables. They do have a patio for the puppers! Plus, their own permanent food truck cranking out wood-fired pizzas. Beer-wise, New Image makes phenomenal IPA's and sours. They do make big, burly stouts too. My current obsession is the Passionfruit Dyad. A hefty sour clocking in at 7.5% ABV with a heavy serving of sweet and tart passionfruit. This will be my summertime mistress. Their IPA's are juicy, fruity and hoppy. All in the best possible ways. East Coast Transplant, Phanny Pack, and the flagship Single By Choice. The latter with hilarious copy on the can. Want to take beer for the road? They sell 4-packs of pretty much everything! Jury is still out on those wood-fired pizzas, but the pictures look convincing. Much needed addition to 44th, where there's not too many options to drink. It's all up and up for New Image Wheat Ridge!

Yelp
Delicious pizza and beer. The cook has great flavor profiles and keeps a fresh menu. Great atmosphere!

Yelp
Love the beers and Pizza! Saw the Weber Brothers play here once and it was awesome! More live music please!!

Yelp
One of my favorite beer spots in the Denver area! The nachos are fire! We like to get a bunch of small pours and share them because there are too many great IPA's on draft to pick just one. Service is pretty good and we love the long tables for bigger groups.

Cal H.

Yelp
The pizza and beer in the area! Worth checking out for sure - always rotating food and beer list so there's almost always something new to try

Yelp
Visited a buddy in Wheat Ridge and stopped by New Image for a couple beers on a sunny day. We sat outside and enjoyed wafts of pizza from the food truck in the parking lot (the only food you'll get here) and raucous rumbles from motorcycles headed to or from the biker bar a couple doors down. The interior is clean and modern with a fair amount of seating. Lots of choices (draft and canned) and ordering is painless. The bartenders were knowledgable about the selection. Prices are par for the course. I pretty much only drink sours and their recommendation for the Dyad passion fruit sour was on point. One of my favorite sours ever, perfect on a warm afternoon. Great balance of tart, sweet, fruity, and acidic. Goes down super smooth. The outside patio has about as many seats as inside, and doesn't get too crowded even when every seat is filled. Would definitely return!

Yelp
The beer is crisp, clean and refreshing. Nice selection and variety. I would buy this beer at a liquor store and ended up coming home with togos. The ambiance is just okay and the beer is priced on the higher side, that's why there's a missing star. The staff is cool, they know it and act like it. Definitely the best brewery in Wheat Ridge. Oh and they have pretty good pizza too.

Daniel C.

Yelp
The service here is terrible. I have never had a good experience. I come here a lot for the beer. The beer is good. The taproom is small, loud. The patio is not covered but is dog friendly. The pizza is mediocre. It's a truck parked out in front. Go to the old town location if you can.

Yelp
Driving to Costco and took this route which I don't always do so, imagine my surprise when I found New Image on the way! I honestly hadn't realized they were so close even with the other location. Silly me! It was a chilly fall night but, I saw the pizza oven outside and knew I had to stop in for a beer and pie. Nice ample parking here and plenty of space to dine inside and out. I chose inside since I was, after all...chilly! Sat at the bar for the up close and personal experience and began to look the extensive menu over for some taster options. So much to choose from! Heavy on the IPAs but, really, there is something for everyone which I love to see. I like every style there is and it all depends on my mood so, having these choices is what I look for. Ordered the Hungry Duck pizza and sadly, the roasted yellow tomato was not available. I was looking forward to trying this one with the roasted yellow tomatoes and only wish I had been asked if I wanted to sub something else, It was still a well prepared pizza, those great, dark dough bubbles and cooked perfectly with a delicious pesto, I couldn't complain too much about there being no tomato or offer of substitution. The size is perfect for two and you can add a salad if you really need a bit more grub or, the garlic cheesy bread. For my brews, I did some tasters and tried the barley wine, witbier, pistachio stout, and went home with a four pack of the Really Really Ridiclously Phantastic New Zealand IPA - this was delicious. I know I sampled some other IPAs but, I somehow failed to check in to those on Untappd, unfortunately. Service was very good - attentive and responsive and one server was very adept at discussing the brews with other customers and you really had the sense that this is someone who loves working here and is an asset to the brewery for sure. I am now reviewing the beer on tap a month later and am seeing so many new brews that I want to try so, I for sure will be revisiting this brewery again soon!

Yelp
Nice little place to get a beer in the neighborhood. The staff is very friendly and attentive!! My wife and me split a pizza...I think it was call "over indulgence " three cheese including bre, we added chicken...wood fired...it was awesome. Not only is it super close to home but loved everything about it. We will be back!!

Yelp
I give a 3 because I really want this place to be successful. Pizza is great! Beer is great! The service this time was VERY disappointing. The guy was more interested in side conversation with workers than customers. Completely ignored a customer with in 2 feet clearly trying to order but rambling on with another employee. Then came the worst part! As I'm applying parm to my pizza ... it was moldy! Yes, I have the pic I don't want to post. Guys your better than this!! I know you are!!

Yelp
Look, the beer is solid. I live in Chicago and a lot of our local bottle shops will get New Image beers distributed to us and the beer is always good. So I was excited to check them out while in Denver. Unfortunately, besides the beer, everything else was just okay. Firstly, there's about 10-15 parking spots for one of the more popular breweries in the area. We had to park across a four lane road without a crosswalk nearby. Not sure how they can fix this issue but something needs to be done. Secondly, they had one guy taking orders for a line that was consistently 20 people deep. And then to make matters worse, whoever was then pouring the beer didn't seem to know what they were doing. My wife and I each ordered four tasters, also known as a flight, and she ended up pouring us 10 glasses (4x2=8, not 10) and no labeling whatsoever of what beer was what. So we really had no idea what we were drinking. If we find ourselves in the Denver area in the future we will definitely check out the location in Arvada just 2 miles away from this one.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I love visiting this location! It's usually not too busy and the bartenders Lucas and Patrick always kill it when we are there.

Yelp
Amazing that New Image was able to open a 2nd location. Great space with an incredible tap list, ample parking, and a great food option with Social Dough. The staff is incredible. They also have cocktails, wine, and kombucha- something for everyone! If you haven't been- change that.

Mark V.

Yelp
What a great surprise. We were driving by and stopped in with little to no expectations. A great selection of beers. They are self proclaimed "hop forward" and there are many IPA choices. The pizza was surprisingly very good. We will definitely be back. The place has a great feel. Very bright and open.

Alyssa L.

Yelp
loved it! great options for beers and ciders! The pizza there is also sooo good. It does get packed quickly though!

J N.

Yelp
This is my new favorite place. Great beers and ciders on tap and good food options. Fun atmosphere. Parking can me a challenge but just park one street over in the neighborhood and make the short walk.
