We live permanently in Tanzania and this is by far the worst over night experience we have had in the whole of Africa. There is poor security, people smelling of drugs, nets full of what looks like old blood stains, biting bugs inside nets and dirt/trash underneath the mattress. You can get much nicer places to stay for the same price in Zanzibar||Big and biting ants in bed combined with smelly bed/mattress (muld and years of sweat) and very loud fan ( no air-con) made falling asleep very difficult. As did the sound of what my husband belives was scratching rats inside the bathroom. At 6.30 the staff started playing loud techno music in the not included gym.||The amenities are in a very poor condition, furniture in the room are falling appart and there are spider webs and spiders in the only place available for your clotes/ things. Luckily there are several BIG lizards creeping around on the walls that can keep the bugs in check. ||The swimming pool is deep, dirty and very hot. It doesn’t smell of chlorine either. The kids thought it was fun jumping off a high and unsecured porch into the water, at risk of hitting the concrete. ||On the plus side there is a volleyball net, but the big outdoor gym ( without treadmill and similar) is not included , which we think is outrageous at this price. Some staff were also friendly. | |The place was ordered for us before checking the reviews. And the photos of the place are not telling the truth about the actual state of amenities/bungalows. ||We changed hotels and the staff was very angry and gave no refunds although we had insect bites all over and the children were scared. It was traumatic for them ( and us) to wake up in the middle of the night with ants all over their bodys.
