We enjoyed a lovely overnight pre christmas stay. The place was beautifully decorated for christmas. The menu in the restaurant was great for dinner and breakfast . The breakfast buffet is continental with hot food cooked to order. The staff were polite and friendly. I had a great experience in the spa with the lovely Shelia and we both enjoyed the pool sauna & steam . The only downside was there wasnt a jacuzzi. We will definately be back. Thank you

Hotel has a superb location. Our family room was cosy and big and overall very nice. It had 6 fantastic big windows. The rest of the hotel was freezing. The pool area was baltic, inside and outside the water. The sauna didnt work. The jacuzzi had cold water, even the showers were only luke warm. The whole "wellness" area is so terribly shabby and outworn...I would be embarrassed to offer that as a 4 star experience. The breakfast was also dissapointing: no buffet, poor choice of continental options. Cheap bread, sour tasting fruit salad, a few cerials...very sad looking and not 4 star. We had to wait 35 minutes for our cooked breakfast that was tiny. The vegetarian portion consisted of 1 egg, 1 potato scone and a tiny bowl of baked beans. I am sorry but I didn't have a more stingy breakfast for a long time.

This is a hidden gem of a hotel surrounded by beautiful countryside . We were at the party night , stayed over. Arrived early and the place was busy with all age groups enjoying the carnival rides and a queue to visit the Santa theme attraction. This is local history presented in a unique and interesting way.The general manager introduced himself ....pleasant and chatty, taking time.... other hotels should take note....pleasantries are free and mean a lot Our room was available early , clean with a braw view of the Clyde. Family enjoyed the leisure facilities .... The meal was lovely served by very pleasant staff... our sleep waa pleasant waking up to that lovely view in the morning Many thanks for a lovely weekend The Flemings

I recently visited this venue to use the steam and sauna facilities.|The steam room was outstanding - easily one of the best I have experienced - just be careful not to sit in front of the steam output!|The sauna offered a decent heat, and its atmosphere was dark & peaceful, enhanced by subtle under-seat lighting. I did notice advisory signs about not touching the equipment, which suggests they might have had problems previously?|There is a large pool for swimming, and a small jacuzzi area for some relaxing bubbles. |There's only one shower at the side of the pool, but it's an impressive one with horizontal jets to offer a 360 shower experience.||The two minor issues I had were: no water fountain (I'll bring my own bottle next time) and the lighting under the bench in the sauna unfortunately highlighted all the dirt and little bits on the floor.|No problems otherwise and I'll be happy to return in the future.

Hotel was lovely. Clean and decent amenities. And superb staff |The only downside is that the restaurant let it down with gluten free options.|Full breakfast but couldn’t have sausage, haggis, black pudding(that’s normal), potato scone, baked beans. I mean how cheap must those beans be to not be gluten free. Should have sausages in the freezer just in case any customers want them. So lots not to have but still have to pay the same price for breakfast as everyone else.|Dinner options said can be modified for gluten free but can’t even have chips with them being cooked in the same fryer as other foods, limited to other foods too.

We came for quilt retreat last week. I can honestly say, the staff, the food and the service were outstanding. Nothing was too much bother. The spa was excellent, had a foot and hand massage. Beautifully located. Rooms were very clean, well serviced. I had view of the river.

Hotel was nice, room was spacious and clean. Shower screen didn't fit properly which caused the floor to flood when taking a shower (seal didn't sit on the bath at bottom of screen) Restaurant was nice, food was great and staff friendly. Swimming pool would have been better if I'd been told there was child's swimming lessons going on before going in.

We booked our wedding reception at New Lanark (would be a fantastic venue for services as well) and the staff helped give us an amazing day celebrating with family and friends. Rachel the organiser was incredibly helpful in the run up and on the day and the contacts the hotel holds are very useful. A range of packages are available offering value for money. The catering on the day was superb, having been a guest at weddings where the challenge of putting so many meals out on a timescale means they can be lacklustre this was noticeable. Majority of our guests stayed in the hotel or the water cottages and thoroughly enjoyed it. The facilities and surrounding nature trails meant it was a great venue for a short stay and many took advantage of that. Several mentioned how very helpful the staff were. I'd thoroughly recommend New Lanark hotel. Thanks for helping us make such happy memories.

Yelp
We had our wedding here last year, and I must say that after a few hiccups they really pulled the stops out and were excellent. New Lanark is a village designed by Robert Owen, an industrial revolutionary who wanted to give his workers a safe place to live and work and to halt the exploitation of children. He ran mills which have now been converted into an interactive museum, a visitor centre and a hotel. We booked the hotel for our wedding reception (we had the meal in the function room in the hotel then moved over to the Institute in the Vistor Centre for the ceilidh as there was more room). Had a few worries because there is a noise limiter in the hotel function room and there was the possibilty that one may be installed in the Institute room and our band wouldnt play if there was one , but that didnt come to anything. They also cocked up some of the room bookings for our guests who were staying, but all of the staff were extremely apologetic and gave us room upgrades and smoothed everything out. On they day though, they were excellent. I can totally recommend Lee, who made the day run like clockwork and also Helen at the Institute for being so accommodating and for putting on a fab spread for our evening guests! The food was very good, much better than I expected from a hotel wedding with 120 odd guests having a sit down meal (it should have been good given the price, but I often think that wedding food in that kind of venue can be mediocre at best!) The wedding packages as always were quite expenisve so we just paid per head for the meal. We transported some of our flowers from the church windows to use as centrepieces for the tables, we had our own piper, we didnt bother with different coloured linen, we brought our own wine and paid corkage (bought from the Wine Society), so we managed to save a bit on the package which had stuff in it we didnt need or want. I must say though that they were really flexible with substituing and negociating the packages, so if you had your own piper you could swap to include canapes or something of similar "value". We just had too many things ourselved to warrent the package and to warrent the substitutions. Wonderful day - ran like clockwork (though I did end up being a little late!) but thoroughly recommend NLM

Yelp
Great hotel in beautiful surroundings. The rooms are an average size, most if not all with views over the falls. As for the food, nothing short of fantastic, also very reasonably priced. very friendly helpful staff

Yelp
We stayed in the New Lanark Hotel over the Christmas period. The rooms are of a nice quality. The best thing was the views of the Falls of Clyde from the window. The Hotel is a converted mill so the window sills are really thick and wide enough to sit on with a drink and look down on the thundering water. The area is a heritage site and has a magical quality. You feel as though you are in a little time capsule as nothing has changed since the days of the industrial revolution. I would recommed trying the restaurant - top quality.

Yelp
This is located down by the river you can go into the hotel for a drink even if your are not a resident. The hotel is clean and the views from the room of the water was lovely. It also hosts a wedding fayre and is popular with those who enjoy a nice meal here. It is nicely located in that you can go for a short walk and go into shop beside it and museums.
