We stayed in waterhouse no. 4 and had a truly enjoyable stay. The view of the river right outside your window is absolutely stunning and so relaxing. We ate in the restaurant on our second night and I can honestly say the food was amazing. Service was excellent and the staff were very friendly and polite. That goes for all the staff - at reception, in the restaurant, the bar and at the pool/spa. Excellent stay and I would come back again in a heartbeat!

A special location, the hotel is in a conversion of one of the historic mill buildings. Our room had a view of the river & I loved sitting in the deep windowsill with a book, a drink & simply looking & listening to the water. The room was good size, comfy bed, well equipped. Staff were incredibly warm & helpful.

Another year ..another visit ...another great stay. We stay every year and this year the weather was glorious. Checked in a bit early which was good , lovely comfy room which had a much needed fan. Enjoyed walks and drinks in lounge. The visitor shop could be better stocked with local crafters range of goods as it was before . Isle of Arran ice cream instead of New Lanark ice cream??? Breakfast was tasty and hot ...staff as always very friendly. ✨️

Every week is a new experience of good quality food. Beautiful joints of local meat cooked just the way I like them. Lovely fresh local vegetables slightly roasted with a beautiful colour and a slight firmness so essential to great tasting vegetables. Homemade Yorkshire pudding that almost needs a plate of it's own it's so large. A crisp exterior and no soggy insides. Accompanied by a dish of cauliflower cheese in it's own cast iron pot to keep the temperature and no stretchy skin on the cheese sauce. But for me the pot of beautiful rich gravy tasting of the meats and glistening with just a little butter and wine just tops off the level of pleasure I get from thos Sunday lunch experience. |This meal is a pleasure I look forward to, it doesn't let me down.

Rooms are good but not the best I’ve stayed in for the money. It’s all about the location with this one which is amazing. I thought the bathroom was small, and the room too hot - no A/C. The pool was out of action in the morning too which was a huge disappointment as we paid extra money to stay here specifically due to the pool Breakfast was very good. Dinner was quite very pricey TBH - small portions and standard wise was ok to good. Quite typical of a hotel where not many other options for dinner locally so they have got you! Staff are all lovely and service is good.

Such a lovely time. Hotel staff so welcoming and helpful all around the hotel. The room perfect for our needs and the view beautiful. During our stay we walked and used the pool. We dined in the restaurant and the food did not disappoint. We will most definently return.

Hotel is trading on the value of it surrounding environment and scenery, which, by the way, is stunning. Not much else to recommend it otherwise. In my room, bed was uncomfortable, windows were falling apart, ceiling was crumbling, and I had a flood light outside my window!! The food was OK, and the restaurant service was quick and friendly. Staff tried hard, but not much to work with.

Amazing hotel!!! We recently travelled from London and stayed here for a one night spa break. On the first day, our friend fell ill and had to be taken to hospital. I cannot praise the staff for being so kind, supportive and helpful to us during this time. I have never been to any establishment where the staff cared so much. We naturally had to re-jig some of our plans and the staff were incredibly accommodating with our requests. Everybody who works there deserves a massive raise. Aside from the staff, the rooms were pristine, beds comfy, lovely view from the room with the sound of the flowing river. Food was absolutely delicious. The spa was pristine and as an avid gym goer I could not believe the amount of gym equipment they had!

Yelp
We had our wedding here last year, and I must say that after a few hiccups they really pulled the stops out and were excellent. New Lanark is a village designed by Robert Owen, an industrial revolutionary who wanted to give his workers a safe place to live and work and to halt the exploitation of children. He ran mills which have now been converted into an interactive museum, a visitor centre and a hotel. We booked the hotel for our wedding reception (we had the meal in the function room in the hotel then moved over to the Institute in the Vistor Centre for the ceilidh as there was more room). Had a few worries because there is a noise limiter in the hotel function room and there was the possibilty that one may be installed in the Institute room and our band wouldnt play if there was one , but that didnt come to anything. They also cocked up some of the room bookings for our guests who were staying, but all of the staff were extremely apologetic and gave us room upgrades and smoothed everything out. On they day though, they were excellent. I can totally recommend Lee, who made the day run like clockwork and also Helen at the Institute for being so accommodating and for putting on a fab spread for our evening guests! The food was very good, much better than I expected from a hotel wedding with 120 odd guests having a sit down meal (it should have been good given the price, but I often think that wedding food in that kind of venue can be mediocre at best!) The wedding packages as always were quite expenisve so we just paid per head for the meal. We transported some of our flowers from the church windows to use as centrepieces for the tables, we had our own piper, we didnt bother with different coloured linen, we brought our own wine and paid corkage (bought from the Wine Society), so we managed to save a bit on the package which had stuff in it we didnt need or want. I must say though that they were really flexible with substituing and negociating the packages, so if you had your own piper you could swap to include canapes or something of similar "value". We just had too many things ourselved to warrent the package and to warrent the substitutions. Wonderful day - ran like clockwork (though I did end up being a little late!) but thoroughly recommend NLM

Yelp
Great hotel in beautiful surroundings. The rooms are an average size, most if not all with views over the falls. As for the food, nothing short of fantastic, also very reasonably priced. very friendly helpful staff

Yelp
We stayed in the New Lanark Hotel over the Christmas period. The rooms are of a nice quality. The best thing was the views of the Falls of Clyde from the window. The Hotel is a converted mill so the window sills are really thick and wide enough to sit on with a drink and look down on the thundering water. The area is a heritage site and has a magical quality. You feel as though you are in a little time capsule as nothing has changed since the days of the industrial revolution. I would recommed trying the restaurant - top quality.

Yelp
This is located down by the river you can go into the hotel for a drink even if your are not a resident. The hotel is clean and the views from the room of the water was lovely. It also hosts a wedding fayre and is popular with those who enjoy a nice meal here. It is nicely located in that you can go for a short walk and go into shop beside it and museums.
