The scallops were some of the best we've ever had and we had tried a lot. The beet salad was killer and the truffle fries were good as well! Alex was a fantastic server! We almost got married here many years back and tried this restaurant and loved it, it's still just as good! Best we've had on orcas of 3 fancy dinners. We sat outside and enjoyed the ambiance! The old fashioned and the wine were top notch!

Came here while visiting Orcas Island and ordered the brown bear bread, salmon, and scallops. The bread basket was very good, fresh local bread made down the street, highly recommended for an appetizer. Salmon with lentils was good. Lentils and mushrooms were cooked very well. My only complaint is the salmon was a little dry and the cucumber sauce on top didn't add much to it, could have added more flavor to it. The scallops were cooked very well, nice and tender but not overcooked. Mushrooms tasted great and seared nicely. Mashed potatoes were decent. Overall a good spot for dinner, expect good food but nothing over the top. Tab bit expensive as well, for two people ended up being over $100.

Had reservations for a party of 3. We were sat at our table without wait. The interior is minimally decorated, clean and bright and has a little bit of a south of France vibe. The view of the water across the street is very serene. Our server was quick to greet us and return with our ordered iced teas. The tea was wonderful. I believe it was an iced oolong black tea. For appetizers, we ordered two Caesar salads and a French onion soup. Caesar salads come with anchovies so make sure to ask for them to be held if you’re not a fan like us. They were lightly tossed in the creamy Caesar dressing and very tasty. The onion soup was probably in my top 2 best onion soups I’ve ever had, with the only one that was better being in Paris. Then, for mains, we had the Scallops Entree & two of the Beef Short Rib Ragu Pasta. My husband absolutely loved the scallops. The pasta was nice but nothing particularly amazing. One of the two identical ordered pasta dishes was a nice portion. The other (mine) seemed about 2/3 the size of the other. Weird. We also had a side of polenta. That was a tasty addition and the preparation was skillfully executed. For desserts, we ordered two of the Lemon Bars and a Horchata Sorbet. The lemon bars were okay. They were kind of room temp/warm… but it didn’t feel like they were intentionally tepid just kind of left in a warm kitchen on the counter and naturally came up in temp. Couldn’t tell you for sure, though. The pickled blueberries were are odd addition and I didn’t think they really worked with the lemon bar. The horchata sorbet had a nice flavor except it was drizzled with a hot honey garnish that was exceedingly spicy. I am a huge fan of spice (think thai spicy) but this was too much for me. It tasted like someone accidentally added way too much chili oil to it and decided not to remake it to a pleasant level. It kind of burned my tongue (from the small spoonful of my friend’s that I sampled) as well as his and was a pretty unpleasant way to finish the dining experience. Overall it was a nice enough experience but I’d probably not return considering the items that didn’t pass with flying colors and that the experience was about $230 check with no alcohol even in the total.

This was our first time dining here, and it was fabulous! We arrived on the island around noon, just an hour before the restaurant closed at 1 PM, so we quickly ordered the classic Eggs Benedict—and it did not disappoint. The hollandaise sauce was perfectly balanced—not too heavy, not too light—with just the right amount of flavor. The view of the sound is absolutely beautiful, and our server was phenomenal—friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. We’ll definitely be coming back and can’t wait for our next visit!

Visiting from TX looking for brunch on orca island and we chose the right spot! This food was affordable, fast, and delicious. Will definitely eat here again if we ever come back to the island!

Fabulous restaurant in the OutLook Inn in Eastsound. I had the scallops, perfect cooked, beautifully served. My husband had to salmon and wr shared the pamacotta for dessert.

This was one of my top five meals I’ve ever eaten. My family was on Orcas Island for a wedding and so my immediate family dined in along with two aunts and two uncles and their families as well. We were all at separate tables, but we were all in there. We waited a bit to get inside, but that was more than understandable since there were so many of us, and boy was it worth it. Every single one of us said it was delicious. That day, their special was the Dutch Baby with cherries and we got the last one for the day and it was amazing. I got the savory crepe with a tomato chutney and the waitress gave me a disclaimer ahead of time that it packed a flavor punch and she was definitely right. The chutney, specifically, was what put this meal in my top five meals ever. I live across the country, but am already hoping we can go back so I can get it again.

My wife and I ate here for both of their brunch and dinner service. Everything was amazing. The staff was super friendly and the food came out quickly. I would say the restaurant took other guests feedback and has improved a lot since the other reviews were posted earlier this year. We highly recommend that you make reservations in advance in order to avoid long wait times for the walk-ins. In my opinion, this is the best restaurant on this side of the island. We would come back here again.

Yelp
Amazing breakfast, wonderful service, GREAT coffee!! So glad we stopped in! It will definitely be on our must visit list for every Orcas visit.

Yelp
Dinner - The restaurant had huge windows that overlook the bay which made dinner great for people watching and seeing the sunset. The host staff was very kind and friendly, even when we entered in the back door to the bar area the hostess walked us to the hostess stand. We made a reservation for right when they opened and basically had the whole place to ourselves. The dining area was fairly quiet. We did sit in the window area near the bar which was a little noisy during happy hour. We had a rotating hazy IPA that started great, but left an unpleasant taste in my mouth the longer I sipped on it. My wife's drink, a Prickly Persona with a shot of gun, was excellent though! The truffle fries were my favorite of the two appetizers, the other being grilled shrimp cocktail. The fries were seasoned perfectly and came in a decent portion! The grilled shrimp was okay, the blackberry cocktail sauce it came with though was pretty one dimensional. The Pasta Ragu and grilled salmon were good and we would both get again. Overall ambiance and service were great! The food was average.

Yelp
The mushroom/bok choy omelet was good, unfortunately the same cannot be said about the service. Had late lunch reservations, upon arrival, no one was around to seat us. Not sure why reservations were needed when there were only 3 occupied tables & no one at the reservation stand. The hostess finally showed up 15 minutes later to seat us. No one to serve us. Flagged someone down who had the bartender wait on us. Took our order, dropped off the food, closed out the check. That's all folks. It was the end of the season, so maybe that's why the staff really could care less about hospitality. The bill was not worth the terrible lack of service & from some of the other reviews, non-service seems to be the norm. Would be nice for this cafe to live up to its name & turn over a new leaf in the service department. One star for the food.

Yelp
Food - 4 Service - 2 Value - 2 While the food here was above average, the service was just poor and for a place charging what they do...it was just unacceptable really. We had a reservation and arrived about 5 minutes early as well. There was nobody to greet us, and eventually after about 10 minutes of waiting, we were finally seated. We noticed as we walked by there were empty tables waiting to be bussed with a view, but the table they walked us to was in the bar area -- which we didn't mind really...but it still felt odd they couldn't clear a table with a view given we were the last seating of the day. We then waited out our table as 5 different waitstaff walked back and forth with little urgency but nobody stopped by to welcome us or anything. After about 10 minutes of waiting we flagged down a server and told him we'd be leaving if someone didn't stop by our table "soon". After another few minutes, just as we were about to get us to leave...the bartender who had been tending the bar by just talking with a couple of regulars there for the past 10 minutes finally decided to stop by our table to take our order. Our drinks and food took a while to arrive as well -- which again felt odd since most of the tables were empty by then...and nobody stopped by to refill our water or ask how our meal was. I will not be coming back to this restaurant again.

Yelp
What a gem! This place was cute and staff was great. The food was absolutely delicious. The BLTA was fantastic on great bread. So tasty. The potatoes were amazing. They were so crispy and soft on the inside. My sister got the crab Benedict and said it was possibly the best Benedict she's ever had. The crab was poached in butter and just so amazing. The eggs were cooked perfectly. The bar looked super cute too. I would definitely recommend this place for brunch. I'd love to try it for dinner/drinks if I were ever back on island!

Yelp
We waited more than 1 hour to receive our food. When we finally asked politely if the food was almost ready with a staff member, they said they'd check and never returned to give us an answer. 10 minutes later, our waitress brought our food. We asked if we could get another round of complimentary bread (for our woes basically) but she said we'd have to make an order. We were disappointed the restaurant didn't take responsibility for either forgetting about our order or not prioritizing us and not communicating with us. If they had just kept us in the loop and notified us about food updates (really any form of speech or communication) I think we wouldn't have felt so wronged. By the time we got our food a second round of diners were eating. We had seniors with us who were very patient but really could have benefited from knowing when they could expect their meal. We would have eaten our snacks in the car while we waited. We were very disappointed in the service. Food was good but not worth going back.

Yelp
This restaurant is inside Outlook Inn in Eastsound (Orcas Island, WA). It's on the high end side, but the ambiance is relaxed. Their service is friendly and attentive. My girlfriend and I both ordered the branzino, and we shared the pork belly and arugula salad. The branzino tasted very delicious especially the sauce it was served with. It was an entire fish with the head and everything. Since I grew up in Japan eating fish with heads all the time, it didn't bother me but you're warned. Also, there's a lot of bones you have to eat around. I really enjoyed the dressing on the arugula salad. The serving portion of the pork belly (appetizer) was very small: 2 small slices, but it was delicious. If you want fancy dinner on Orcas Island, I think this is the place. You can make a reservation online.

Yelp
This is our favorite place to go for breakfast in Orcas Island and maybe anywhere!! We started with a mimosa that was better than most we have had out. We ordered the crab cakes Benedict and they were absolutely amazing. It comes with potatoes that are out of this world delicious. They are crispy but not greasy. The salad was also refreshing. My husband and I did not have a single crumb left on our plates when we were done!! The service was also very good. Don't miss out!!

Yelp
To be clear, the food was great. Everyone loves their dish. They accommodated my allergies (gluten and dairy) extremely well. So the docked stars are not in regard to food or quality of it. The service was so so poor. We were told there would be a 45 minute wait when we got there; there were MANY open seats outside. We asked if we could sit out there as we had a baby in a stroller and would be much more ideal as the inside layout is a bit crowded and loud. The man (manager maybe?) was not too friendly and told us they were only seating people with dogs outside because opening the door to the outside seating caused a wind gust?? So we waited. And waited. And waited. 45 minutes came and went. So my mom went to check about it and lo and behold, they had the table ready but had yet to let us know that. As we passed by on the sidewalk, we saw multiple parties sitting outside WITHOUT a dog. We saw the same man sit a dog-less couple outside while we were seated. So it seemed he just had some random animosity towards us and refused to accommodate us and our baby. Boo. In addition to that, our waitress was mixed. She had come when we sat down to do water and coffee, then disappeared for a good while only to return and all she said was "have you decided?" We didn't even know she was our waitress, much less had she said anything else to us. But she was nice enough I suppose and very knowledgeable of the menu--she ensured my food was made gluten and dairy free so big appreciation for that. Then again she also didn't come back to refill our water or coffee until asked. So overall, good food but service could use some major improvement.

Yelp
Omg, visiting the island so didn't expect much. Let's start with the Bloody Mary, I had the horseradish and hubby had the jalapeño both delish, service was spot on and food was amazeballs! We split the crab cake eggs Benedict and we haven't stopped talking about it. Highly recommend this and will be back for our next stay.

Yelp
Made a reservation for 5pm on a weekday and arrived 10 mins prior. The restaurant opened at 5 pm. We were staying at the hotel as guests. The hostess at the counter was rude and indifferent and had terrible customer service skills. Even though we arrived prior to our reservation, she proceeded to seat several parties before us. When we were finally acknowledged and told our seat location, we asked to be placed in one of several open tables near a window in a mostly empty restaurant. The hostess said those were reserved for people that made a reservation. When I reminded her we had a reservation she simply said, "They are not available." Not sure if she was having a bad day, but this lack of service attitude was distasteful. We went to another restaurant. Hopefully they can educate this hostess on how to treat their customers.

Yelp
Omg!!!! I loved everything about this place I felt like I was in an episode of Gilmore girls #livingmybestlife. The food was extremely high end feeling but service and vibes were 100% feeling at home. We had the duck confit waffles and duck confit hash and everything is locally sourced so truly farm to table! I even loved the hot sauce so much that we walked to the local co-op right after brunch to buy some to bring back to Seattle

Yelp
Truly amazing! This is fresh, scratch kitchen cooking. Food that tastes homemade and exquisitely from a top restaurant at the same time. I've visited New leaf twice, and ordered both eggs Benedict dishes. Both are delectable. The tarragon aioli on the kale Benedict is a great touch. The potatoes are perfectly cooked and pair well with simple ketchup. A must visit on Orcas!!

Yelp
Super cute! Brunch with my family who live here visited in August. Loved the vibe of this area which is so easily walk able. Staff were nice and inviting. Actually did see some people we knew here by chance. Coffee was great as was my Bloody Mary. I had the B.L.T.A (YUM)with a side of the potatoes which were crispy and delish. Would love to come back someday!

Yelp
With the views of the waterfront, and cute decor inside, this is a beautiful spot for breakfast, lunch or dinner. In fact, we were happy it was open because many restaurants or eateries on Orcas Island are not open seven days a week. New Leaf seems to be one of the only restaurants that is open the majority of the time. which is lucky because the food is also really fresh and delicious. We had breakfast and dinner here two separate days while visiting the island, both times it was delish! Staff is super friendly And accommodating! Next time we're on the island will definitely stop by again. They are attached to The Outlook Hotel which looks Idealic as well!

Yelp
Eating here was a highlight of our visit to Orcas. We went here to celebrate our mom's birthday. For her birthday they gave her a gift card for a small plate, which was a nice touch! The food was delicoius. We had the clams small plate for an appitzer, then had the duck ragu and the halibut for our main dishes. The setting was beautiful. It was overlooking the water. It was a very relaxed and pleasant evening. We liked our server too!

Yelp
Food is reasonably priced and there are fresh made donuts! The food is fresh and so good, I am grateful I decided to get food to go even though I wasn't hungry. This cafe has a great view and wonderful people who are quite kind.

Yelp
For our first night on Orcas Island we had a reservation for this place and were seated pretty quickly. For the table we ordered the Truffle Fries ($10), French Onion Soup ($14), Harissa Spiced Clams ($26), Confit Pork Shank Sliders ($19), Graze Board ($26), and the Marinated Olives and Spiced Marcona Almonds ($14), but I only tried out the fries, slider, graze board, olives, and almonds. Everything that we got tasted great. There's so much flavor and the graze board had more than just meats and cheeses. The pork in the sliders were very tender and the salad that it came with was very refreshing, especially with the amount of breads that we got with our orders. Our server was super nice and was patient with us while we were trying to narrow down what to get because everything on the menu just looked so good. The dishes came out at a decent pace, of course with the graze board and small bites arriving sooner to the table than the others so we had something to nibble on throughout the meal. I just wish I had the stomach capacity to try more of the items on their menu.

Yelp
Lovely restaurant with good food and good service. Nice views. If we are ever on Orcas Island again we will definitely visit!

Yelp
This is a lovely restaurant with views of the harbor. We stopped for breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Excellent service. The food was delightful. Don't miss their crispy breakfast potatoes! I had a delicious corned beef hash, and my daughter enjoyed the traditional eggs Benedict. My nephew loved the biscuits and gravy, while their two eggs with spicy chicken sausage and those luscious crispy potatoes were ordered by two others in our party. Truly a delightful way to pass a morning.
google avatar

Becky C.

Yelp
I personally did not go here, but my mom and her husband did and LOVED it. They loved it so much they went there all 3 mornings we were here for breakfast! We drew the line at them trying to go back for dinner. They said the food, service, and experience was great. So they highly recommend coming here for brunch!
google avatar

Melissa B.

Yelp
The best eggs Benedict I've ever had the hollandaise sauce was so creamy and light and buttery. I chose the chicken apple sausage, which was so good and the breakfast potatoes were so crispy but so soft inside! I'm sad the best eggs Benny I've ever had is 700 miles away for me on an island only accessible by a ferry.

Yelp
If you're looking for an upscale breakfast with superb food, a variety menu, and a charming ambiance, then this is your place. Everything we had was throughly enjoyed. The coffee was well worth it (we've recently been nervous ordering coffee at restaurants because of how poorly it tends to be, not here!), and we were so happy with our meals. My husband had the corned beef hash while I enjoyed the mushroom and kale Benedict. I was nervous to try it as truffle oil can so easily overwhelm a dish, but it was complementary in this dish. Our only complaints were service was ok and the potatoes were missing from my husband's dish. Our server was super friendly, but our water was gone within our first 10-15 minutes of sitting down and it took us a long time to flag her down to get more and it took us a long while to get coffee refills as well. It was busy, but we were tucked in a corner and felt a bit forgotten about on several occasions. It also took a while for us to grab our server to ask about my husband's potatoes. He had taken several bites and realized, so waited until we could double check if they were supposed to be IN or in addition to the dish. His food ended up cooling quite a bit before we were able to ask and she brought some out (it was supposed to be the bottom layer of the dish, just fyi). All in all, we would definitely return for the food and atmosphere and hope that service is slightly improved by then.

Yelp
Omg... brunch here was fabulous. We were seated at what had to be the best seat of the house with panoramic views overlooking the shoreline. I had a Bloody Mary and the Eggs Benedict, and everything was executed perfectly. We also shared the stuffed French toast special (blackberry and cream cheese?) which was my favorite bite. I have a firm belief that if you are brunching as a group the table should get something sweet to share, and we were all happy to have it! Our friend who is a local made sure we got the truffle fries as well, which turned out to be sage advice. Service was friendly and accommodating. Will absolutely return the next time I'm on Orcas.

Yelp
We went here for breakfast right at opening time, (maybe like 20min earlier cause the ferry) and we were sat at a pretty good seating with nice decor and backdrop. We shared a variety of dishes: Crab cake benedict: one of the most popular dishes in the menu. What was interesting is that it is just crab cake plus poached egg and hollandaise, so there were no biscuit. I guess the batter kind of is a biscuit, but note that when you order - it did not hinder the dish in any way. There was a good amount of crab inside. Potatoes are smashed potatoes with a bit of seasoning, and the hollandaise is very creamy and hearty. The salad was a little bit too tangy. Sweet potato hash: ingredients were fresh and I liked the brussel sprouts that went along with it. The bread was a long toast and buttery, though it felt a little bit stale. The raspberry jam was good. Eggs were poached just like the crab cake benedict, though it was a little more overcooked than runny. Fried eggs and wilted greens: there were a lot of vegetables in this dish which is nice, though this was a pretty underwhelming dish. The small amount of tomato puree gave this dish more flavor. Special: blackberry stuffed French toast: this was quite heavy but fortunately not too sweet. I wished the French toast were a bit crispier, but it was a good sweet dish. Ham & 2 eggs - pretty standard breakfast, ham was a little bit dry Service was excellent - waitress was very friendly and took great group pictures for us. Water refills were there, and everything was handled in a timely manner.

Yelp
Excellent service and quaint eatery. We arrived on a sunny Saturday afternoon and were eagerly awaiting the potatoes. Verdict- Excellent. I'd go a bit lighter on the "old-bay esque" seasoning.

Yelp
Everything was good: food, service, and ambiance, inside and outside. My husband had duck confit with a waffle for lunch and loved it.

Yelp
The Belgian Waffle from New Leaf Cafe is the best breakfast order. We also like their Egg Benedict. Everything is served with a generous cup of coffee. We also had several dinners here as well. Their wine selection and price are down to earth. We love the Duck Confit, Carpaccio, Black Cod ... too many to list. See our photos.

Yelp
We had a delightful breakfast here right after Labor Day. The main attraction is the setting and the location, in the heart of East Sound's walking district with a wicked southern view of East Sound. We'd taken the 7:20 a.m. ferry from Anacortes and were grateful to find that New Leaf blessedly opened at 8 a.m. Roughly 99% of the tables have views and the somewhat L-shaped restaurant (plus outdoor seating) is airy and light. My coffee was good and my companions praised both the hollandaise dishes (they have several, including a kale & mushroom one!). I had the salmon on toasted baguette, which was a little on the dry side--both bread and fish. But, the server kept the water and cheerfulness flowing. According to half the table, the bloody Marys were thirst-quenching and relaxing. On the downside, the restaurant's truncated schedule after Labor Day --closed Tuesday & Wednesday, and also from 1 pm - 5 pm, makes it difficult for those who are on vakay time. We just missed lunch and had to go elsewhere (the White Horse Pub), which turned out to be fabulous -- but does not serve coffee anywhere near as mouthwatering as New Leaf's.

Yelp
We absolutely loved having lunch at this cute spot in the main town on Orcas Island. Views are so pretty, and they had a nice assortment of vegan choices. We got to the restaurant right as they were closing, but the nice thing is that servers didn't rush us to order, and were more than happy to take care of us despite arriving less than 5 minutes before their 1pm closing time.

Yelp
I was really looking forward to having brunch here. The building is super cute and the menu very appealing. I had planned on ordering the traditional eggs benedict. When we arrived, we were immediately greeted by the host. They took our name and number so they could let us know when a table was ready. We sat in the waiting area and I received a text saying that we were on the waitlist and it would be about 15 min. And we waited, watching many people get seated. I figured they had reservations. At 45 min, we asked how much longer it would be. The host was confused and claimed they had two people with the same name. But they NEVER sent a text and we had been sitting there the WHOLE time! The host said she would sit us in 2 minutes and then proceeded to seat someone else. That was just adding insult to injury, so we left.

Yelp
This was my partner and I's first meal in Orcas Island and it was the best place we could have picked. We had breakfast here and it blew our minds. Amazing service, amazing food. Definitely worth the price. We got the duck and waffles and the eggs benedict. Both were absolutely delicious. Hard to describe to do it justice, but we went here the end of May and we are still talking about this place and comparing any other brunch places to New Leaf. Nothing can beat it yet. This fully deserves 5 stars or more. Across from the cafe, if tide is low (it was for us!) you can walk across to the little island and see starfish as well. Orcas Island is magical and this was such a magical restaurant too.

Yelp
We came here for brunch on the last morning of our recent stay on Orcas and had a wonderful meal. We had checked in online to put our name on the list and were seated right away. It took a few minutes before a server came to check on us and get us some coffee but that was the only hiccup of the meal. We tried the crab cake benedict, the pork with mole and a fried egg and the kids waffle and all of the food was top notch, fresh and flavorful. Food was prepared as requested too. Our coffee cups were kept topped off and we were even able to take a to-go cup with us at the end of the meal. We ate outside on their adorable covered patio and from there we had views of the water and Main Street. The indoors was also super cute and stylish with a lot more seating. Rather spendy place but there was a lot of meat in those crab cakes! I'm coming back for sure.

Kimberly G.

Yelp
We had a wonderful breakfast. Their vegan option was one of the best morning meals I've ever had! My omnivore husband had plenty of choices and thoroughly enjoyed the BLTA with thick-cut bacon. The view, service and beverages made the experience an all-around winner.

Yelp
We stayed in this area over the weekend and there aren't too many restaurants on the island and we found this beautiful restaurant inside the Outlook Inn! The restaurant is usually pet friendly on the patio but the patio was closed temporarily. The wait wasn't too long and the service was great. I loved all the dishes we tried! My favorite was definitely the crab cake benedict! Lots of flavor and the plate was so pretty. I also loved the duck confit leg & waffles and the syrup had some hint of spicy chili in it that made it even yummier! It is a little on the pricier side for the portion but I guess it's the island price so it was totally worth it! We loved our brunch dining experience & the food was delicious! If you're ever in Orcas Island, this spot is a must eat. Definitely will come back!

Yelp
Eating out on vacation calls for relaxation and meeting various desires. New Leaf Cafe fits checks all the boxes! It was our top meal while on island! The crab Benedict was dreamy because the crab cakes let the crab shine through. It was lightly crispy and the crab was flavorful! The hollandaise sauce was out of this world too! My brother in law had the waffle and was over the moon happy with it too! The buttermilk syrup was unique and delicious! The kitchen accommodated my sister's wish to make one of the eggs sunny side up and one basted. They were both cooked perfectly! Additionally the potatoes couldn't have been better. The ratio of crispy exterior to light and fluffy interior was perfection!

Yelp
Food was great, view was good, service was bad and I hardly ever pay much attention to service. Ordered two meals: crab sandwich and duck waffles both tasty, but smaller portions. Not enough meat balance with the duck. It was mostly waffle. Men seem to like more protein lol. My crab sandwich was tasty, also a smaller portion and was strangely paired with arugula salad for breakfast. Passed on that part. Also ordered a horseradish Bloody Mary and truffle fries which never came. Quick meal but not living up to the reviews. Bummer brunch. If I ever return to the island likely will not come back.

Yelp
Cute, quaint restaurant on the waterfront in Eastsound! I came here in April and I had the best eggs and corn beef hash I've ever had so this time I wanted to try the eggs Benedict! They were yummy, but I will get the hash again next time! We were greeted by Marina our server who was just precious and sweet. Last April we had Rhiannon wait on us and she still was working and I asked to see her...She totally remembered us and even mentioned things on my last visit!...and we even got hugs... Unbelievable. Seriously, they hire incredible servers here, incredible food and great ambience... You will not be sorry having a millionaire! Plus... On Mondays there are very few restaurants open.

Yelp
We were so impressed by this restaurant. Everything we ate was 10/10 and we can be pretty critical of restaurants As we have vast international experience. You Must get the French onion soup and heirloom tomato pasta dish!! We will definitely be back!!

Yelp
We come back every year because the food and service are exceptional. This time, we had the crab cakes, fries, two pasta dishes, and chocolate cake with cremeux. Out of this world.

Yelp
I have been going to the New Leaf Cafe for over 5 years, and the food is *always* excellent. Both breakfast and dinner are very good - for breakfast their Eggs Benedict is incredible, as is the granola/yogurt and egg breakfast, and their bacon is also tasty. I had the steak at dinner last night and it was fabulous- the Worcestershire-flavored sweet sauce was incredible. Views in the main room overlook the water, it's one of the most peaceful results at views in Eastsound. On the down side, however, was the service. I don't know if it's under new management, but the usual waitstaff who I have known for years are gone (I saw one waitress at the Inn at Ships Bay, which was nice!). The hostess wanted to seat us as a party of 5 (we had a reservation) at a table for 4, and it took a lot of wrangling to get us into a decent space. One of the waitresses finally told us brusquely to get out of the restaurant area (we had been brought in to be seated) while she worked it out, which was unfriendly and odd. Service was slow and inattentive, with long waits. Overall, I wondered if the management had changed, because the general vibe, which in the past was so warm and welcoming, was borderline unfriendly. It's early in the season this year, hopefully the team will find their stride.

Yelp
I want this review to be helpful to the management rather than critical just to be mean. Visit was Aug 13, 2023 for dinner. We were charged for two bottles of wine in error (because we ordered two glasses of wine). We didn't catch the error until after we had paid and left and revisited our $400 receipt. We went back the next day to ask for a refund of the difference ($67) and the manager processed one, but the manager did not give us assurance that whatever caused the (big) error would be fixed for future customers. Also, we needed to ask for a refund of the 20% (of the difference) gratuity ($13) separately. It seems that should have been offered without us needing to ask. Before you hand over your cards, check your receipts folks! Otherwise, the food was very good and the service good.

Yelp
Never disappoints. The best breakfast on the island! Crab eggs Benedict was poached and spiced to a level that can make even the most demure do a big 'ol "Mmmmm..." out loud. Book a reservation to make sure you don't miss out on a great start to your day.

Yelp
I've been here before and enjoyed it but was disappointed this time and would not recommend or return. One of our steaks was ordered medium rare and arrived well done. As no one ever arrived to check on us, that member of the party decided to just eat rather than wait. My plate was just average tasting. Nothing I would ever pay for again. Second set of drink orders took forever as well. They did comp the steak and drinks. 5 stars for the location only. I think the other reviewers have vacation bias.

Yelp
Great place. Really enjoyed it. I recommend this place to those that want a fine meal on the island

Yelp
Oh me oh my, please order the duck and waffle when you visit here. The preparation of this duck was so unbelievably good, I will dream of it. After I left I googled how to make duck confit to try to imitate this but I fear I will never make it as good as this. Thank you for giving me a terrific experience, beautiful island and great food, what more could I ask for?

Yelp
My partner and I got to New Leaf Cafe at 7:50pm (10 minutes before New Leaf Cafe's kitchen closed), and they graciously allowed us to make a last minute order. We had been turned away from another restaurant whose kitchen also closed at 8 just minutes before. Susan was our server and she was fantastic! She provided us with drink and food recommendations (all of which were delicious) and was such a social butterfly. She and the rest of the staff really made our one year anniversary dinner very special. Food: Pulled pork sliders (with blackberry barbecue sauce), House salad, French onion soup, and Brussel sprouts Drinks: Dreams of Yuzu and the Duchess (non-alcoholic!)
