My husband and I visited Durban for a short trip to attend a conference, and the toughest part was finding pure vegetarian food. We were here for a week, and today we’re heading back to India. For the first two days, we survived on thepla, matri, and packed snacks brought from home, desperately missing proper vegetarian meals. Then, like a blessing from above, we discovered New Little Gujarat – a true paradise for pure vegetarians ( INDIA Wala pure veg) like me! The vibe of this place is absolutely amazing, just like the owners who run it with so much love. It felt like we were visiting family every time we stepped in. The owners were incredibly welcoming, warm, and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The food? Pure, authentic Gujarati flavors that tasted like home-cooked meals – fresh, delicious, and made with heart. As someone who can’t eat at places serving non-veg, this restaurant was a dream come true. Not only was the food outstanding, but the owners were also incredibly helpful. They guided us on where to go for shopping, sightseeing, and even shared tips on how to stay safe in Durban. We loved the brunch so much that we started taking away dinner as well! The owners always ensured we got exactly what we wanted, and their hospitality truly won our hearts. New Little Gujarat made our trip unforgettable with their soulful food, warm vibes, and thoughtful guidance. A huge thank you from the bottom of our hearts! If we ever return to Durban, we’ll be back here without a doubt. We had not eat food there because it was about to close when we reached there. But the owners are so polite, friendly, helpful and courteous. They told us where to visit, what to do in Durban. Even they asked us to call them if we need to know anything about Durban. Thanks guys it means a lot.

No frills, good food. I had a lush Masala Dosa ( I know that’s technically South Indian ) & 2 Mung bean Dahl samosas. It’s a calm Oasis off the city streets. Excellent value, good portions & flavourful . And you can grab a Bunny chow here too if course

I will start with a little story to talk about how wonderful the owner of the place is. Me and my wife visited Durban for a office work and as usual as a foreign visitors were craving for Indian food. We went to this place and had masala dosa and chai. They talked to us and made us feel comfortable. We got to know it was there for the past 35 years. At the end when we had to pay the bill our credit card didn't work for some reason and we had no cash with us. After trying several times the payment failed. They told us to pay when we reach India and nothing to worry about the failed payment. I have not seen such a pure hearted people even in India. Hats off to the couple who run this place for their customer support and service. Coming to the food. You get the best Indian food in Durban here, without any second thought you can enjoy the food here.

This restaurant is a must try if you have a thing for Indian food. Super tasty food at super affordable prices all over Durban and very friendly owners to top it up. Furthermore they also have sweets and daily specials. Must try, I keep visiting this place especially for the Masala chai!!!
