Stayed for five nights in January in one of the Garden rooms and loved every minute. Stayed in room 201 - Oriental Girls Go West - which was a special room request that they certainly fulfilled. The room was a reasonable size for two, not huge amounts in the way of storage area but we put our bags under the bed and had no issues with space. The room itself, though, was extremely comfortable and the outdoor tub was great. It takes more than one hot water tank to fill, but it's worth it after a long day on Ubin. Alternatively, the pool is very close by and most of the time it was just us. A perfect way to beat the midday heat! In-room facilities were great, the coffee maker was a nice touch even though the hotel is right around the corner from a few superb cafes. The staff was also very attentive and professional, always a great help when we had questions. The only issue, which I believe is room-specific, is the AC noise from over the garden wall, and even then it was easy to tune out. Certainly not street noise and beyond this it was calm and felt exclusive. Other rooms would probably not have this noise, either. So I can't fault them for that either. I would absolutely go back. It's an excellent hotel in a fantastic location.

SO awful really. None of the rooms have a proper working desk. For me as a business traveller an absolute nightmare. After changing rooms got one but table so low like for kids, cannot work like that. And windows, doors to balcony etc have absolutely no isolation whatsoever! I could literally hear everything the people say downstairs on the street. Keep in mind, this hotel has only few floors. If taking a room to be back of hotel you hear non-stop the ventilators from the A/C etc. Be aware of this place. Absolutely not recommended from my side.

Interesting heritage building. It's a hotel that focuses on design. Rooms are small. Minibar is complimentary. The working desk is tiny with an odd curtain setup. This is a place a leisure traveler can visit, but it is harder for a business traveler to do so. The swimming pool is cosy, as is the gym. You can walk nearby for excellent food, from breakfast to dinner and desserts.

Beautiful, unique & conveniently located hotel Amazing boutique style hotel! We booked to stay here because of the beautiful and unique design aesthetics and it's right at the edge of Chinatown. There aren't that many rooms - my husband and I don't enjoy staying in large hotels with lots of other guests swarming the place. You feel a little more special when you're not just a number. The facilities in the room are amazing! Very modern and clean and everything has been thought about. Especially having access to a phone with relevant apps and the ability to download your own apps! This means you don't need to buy a sim card with data for your holiday in Singapore! The breakfast was very good with so many options to choose from. Friendly and very accommodating staff and service. The subway station (Outram Park) and 2 bus stations are very close so it's easy to get anywhere. Chinatown station is also closeby too. A few very well known food centres are nearby so makes it easy to try all the amazing local specialties. We stayed in an Aqua room which was to die for. We especially chose this room as it has a balcony on the street and wanted to get a glimpse into some of the street life of Singapore while at our room. The slight noise from the street didn't bother us but might bother some - the hotel thoughtfully provides ear plugs for that very reason. Our room was right next to the lift which I thought would be a problem, but we didn't hear a thing. Our room is slightly larger than how it appeared to us in the photos. We would definitely stay here again! It's such an awesome change from the usual boring and bland office style hotels that are everywhere. The only complaint was that we only stayed for 4 nights! We could've stayed for 2 weeks or more!

It's ok, but not really special. You get better and more authentic breakfast in every other cafe in Chinatown, the walls are thin enough to hear the person next door and I seriously don't get it, why they think it a good idea to surround the toilet in glas walls. Despite that, it's got some chic, people were nice and helpful and you get a mobile phone for mobile internet and phonecalls to whereever you want.

I've stayed here in November 2015. The hotel has really nice rooms, great complimentary WiFi and even offers you a smartphone with data access during your stay. The breakfast isn't that great but that's really the only downside.

Went for a staycation with my husband. Quite amazed with the interior design of this boutique hotel. The bed was very comfortable!!! It was a very well-equipped hotel! The hotel also has different themes.

Very good food that is not the standard Chinese or Cantonese restaurant fare. The dishes are well-constructed and delicious. I feel that the service could have been a little bit better though. Had a scowling server for most of the meal...
