Great opera venue. The staff team was super on the ball and professional. We were there for the performance of Wozzeck by Alban Berg, performed by Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra. Acoustics are superb and all the instruments in the pit are clearly audible. The singers and musicians were top notch. Production is great!

It was an outstanding experience. We watched the national Japanese Ballett playing Giselle. All the dancers were perfectly synchronized while dancing. And the stage it self war stunning as well. With all the forg perfectly timed on the stage. This was by far the best Ballett I saw so far.

Wonderful place for architecture photographers. Am drawn to the stairs for the consistency. Inspiring to be here to photograph.

Nice modern living exhibit they are having now. There are some dodgy exhibits too so it's good that you pay separately

Beautiful architecture. The building is well maintained and very modern as if it still brand new- surprised to learn it was built back in 1997. Went here to watch The Nutcracker and the mouse king - good production.. different from the nutcracker shown at Tokyo Bunka Kaikan.

A Stunning Ballet Experience at the New National Theatre in Tokyo I recently attended the Macbeth ballet at the new National Theatre in Tokyo, and it was an incredible experience. The venue is breathtaking, with beautiful surroundings. The architecture seamlessly blends modern and traditional elements. The theater hall offers excellent views and comfortable seating. The ballet performance was mesmerizing. The stage design and lighting enhanced the overall production. The acoustics were impeccable, allowing for a fully immersive experience. The staff was friendly and professional. I highly recommend this venue for a memorable evening of art and culture.

I booked a ticket to see Don Qiuxote for the first time. I got a taxi to new national from ebizu which if you don’t look ahead to verify where the main building or box office is you’ll be doing a lot of walking lol. I ended up at the right place and the receptionist was very helpful. This place is pretty big and it can get a little confusing but everyone is pretty helpful. Once I got to my seat the view was amazing as was the show! I’ll be back for more

Planning to see a show at this theater? Make sure to book a seat between rows 1 and 10 for optimal visibility. I recently sat in the 14th row, center, for a marionette performance and couldn’t appreciate the finer details, especially the faces of the marionettes.😥 The seats are comfortable, with good legroom. Be sure to book your tickets well in advance on the theater’s website.
