From the moment Stéphane greeted us by name on arrival, until Faiçal put us in our taxi on departure, the staff at New Orient Hotel were welcoming and helpful. This is a charming, typically French hotel with a beautiful breakfast room, a curving staircase, and exceptionally clean rooms. My grandson had culture shock at how small the room was, to which I responded, “You are in Paris, mon cher, this is not the Marriott hotel!” Soon he came to love it, too, appreciating the yummy baguettes, croissants, and yogurt served to us at breakfast, the excellent air conditioning during an exceptionally hot June, and the convenience of several metro stations and restaurants. I would stay here again because of the charm of the premise and the helpfulness of the staff.|If you have mobility issues, this may not be the hotel for you as there is a narrow, winding staircase to climb to reach the tiny elevator, should you choose to use it. Also, the tubs are in the French style, requiring a big step to get in and out. |But, if you are looking for a lovely, small French hotel in this part of town, do try the New Orient Hotel.
