New Orleans Cafe

We had amazing time in this cafe. First night of our stay in Kathmandu we spent in their guest house. (It was good but noisy in the evening time because guests of the cafe downstairs stay loud until 11pm) so we had to move out the next day. But we kept coming to the cafe almost every day during the next 2 weeks, for dinner and breakfast sometimes. Amazing food and service. Great cozy atmosphere. And we loved their live music night on Saturday. It was fusion music: sitar, guitar and tabla. Thank you to the hole team for being always so professional and attentive to every guest. Thank you to the owner for creating such a great place where you want to come back.🙏

Great place with nice atmosphere and friendly staff. The selection of food was good and dishes were delicious. Recommended.

I ordered medium rare steak and Greek salad. Unfortunately they did not served the salad with feta cheese. But with some (I guess Nepali cheese). I don’t think that is right to do that when something else is written on the menu. The servers were kind enough but not too much. The steaks were also served not hot enough sadly. Sadly this is not a place I would go back again. The vibe was great, the place was good!

As we were walking on the street, we found this great cafe which we went four times in our four night Stay in Kathmandu. This is located in Thamel market area. The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered almost everything on the menu during our visits. But our favourite was mulled wine in drinks, the best we ever had in our life. In food, spaghetti with mustard chicken is a must try. You cannot miss it, just order it and eat while it’s hot. Burger was as expected. Chicken bowl of fried chicken was amazing. The vibe of the place is absolutely fantastic. They have live music sessions all day long. The singer became our friend during our frequent visits. Very good voice and entertains public requests of songs. Staff is very good and polite. They made sure we were served with good recommendations and top picks from the menu. Drinks are good too, even the cocktails were up to the standard. At night they do candle light theme. This place has multiple entrances and could be easily found on google maps. Location is really pretty at night with street lights. Overall a perfect place to go with No regrets. The best in thamel market undoubtedly.

This is low season when visiting. Every restaurant in the Thamel area we looked at was empty. This one had about 4 tables so we sat down. Service was great. We ordered the Nepal platter. The food was deliscious. The atmosphere is fantastic. There is a great vibe. We enjoyed ourselves and highly recommend others to try it.

New Orleans cafe was one I passed by a few times hesitant to go to however after going to a couple other places in the area I decided I’d give it a try. It was pouring it down when I first went but I think that just added to the ambience, I was seated with another gentleman who had been going there years and was still loving the food. I ordered a medium rare steak recommended by him and it was cooked to perfection, by far one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. I went back again for my lunch and was instantly recognised by the staff who seated me in the best seats at the cafe, they were super friendly and always smiling. From then on I made it my routine to come back every night for dinner and it was always a treat having their delicious food. If I ever come back to Nepal New Orleans Cafe will certainly be the place I go to have dinner first.

Excellent place for an evening dinner. Outdoor seating well spread out. The food menu has a great variety both on veg and non veg plus multi cuisine. I had a non veg platter and chicken satay. It was delicious. Service was good as well.
