We got married at New Park about 4 months ago, and it was absolutely magical! The scenery was breathtaking—exactly what I envisioned for my “backyard, but not a backyard” wedding. Multiple guests even said it was the favorite wedding they’d ever attended! There was plenty of space to dance, but guests also had so many other fun options like cornhole, ping pong, and relaxing by the fire. The venue is truly unique, and if I could do it all over again, I wouldn’t choose anywhere else. Huge thanks to Sara and the entire New Park team for making our day unforgettable! 😊

My husband and I got married at New Park at the end of September and it was so beautiful. The venue is naturally stunning, and the rooms are wonderful. We rented it out for the whole weekend and had our wedding party and family stay on site. We were able to have all of our events around the wedding there as well. In addition, Sara (the owner) is so helpful with planning and coordinating the day of. I couldn't recommend this place enough!!

I got stuck in Ithaca when my flight was cancelled and was able to easily book a night here at New Park Event Venue. It was a great experience, clean and cozy spot right along the lake. Staff responded quickly and went above and beyond when my flight was delayed again the next day. Highly recommend checking this place out any time of year!

New Park is beautiful despite management. I recently got married there and, although the wedding was beautiful, the path there was full of stress because of how the management operates the venue. With the utter lack of transparency, communication, and standards for upkeep, my wife and I had no faith in venue management. Eventually, I concluded that management seemed money hungry and unprofessional. Instead of repairing damages and safety hazards at the venue, the owner is investing in another new property, which they are likely to try and force couples to use—the same approach with the bar service company they also own. Everywhere we looked, it became obvious that management was looking for ways to charge their clients for more while providing less. Our wedding party was told to arrive at 3, and rooms weren’t ready until 4. Amenities we were told would be provided were not in fact provided. Our own wedding party members had to clean tables the day of the wedding to ensure all would be ready on time. There were layers of grime on furnishings in the rooms and garbage all over the venue when we arrived.

New Park is an incredibly beautiful & unique wedding venue, I am glad that we chose it as the space to have our wedding. The reason our wedding went off without a hitch is because of every other vendor we had aside from New Park. The communication, management, and maintenance of the entire venue needs major work. Full transparency, we booked the “Full Weekend Wedding Package” and paid Sara over 20k for the venue, rooms (which cost more for a wedding than any other night) and bar (which we didn’t have a choice, we had to book her sister company Cedarwood). If I listed all the things that went wrong after we signed a contract with New Park, no one would read this review because it would be far too long. What I will address are major areas that need improvement for this venue to be worth what it costs. 1. Fix broken things: replace broken lights and burnt out bulbs around venue. Repair/replace broken chairs in Wish room. Fix sliding doors, broken blinds, and missing towel racks in rooms. 2. Clean & upkeep the spaces: cobwebs, gunk/stains on walls, dirt caking coffee table legs in bridal suite, s’mores ingredients should be fresh, pick up garbage on the grounds, dinner tent draping is filthy. Ensure all rooms are ready on time for arrival (bridal party members had to wait to get into their room an hour after check in). 3. COMMUNICATION! Tell your brides & grooms your timeline prior to arrival of what to expect for set up. Respond to emails, make sure you don’t send out emails with wrong info and then respond unprofessionally when the bride asks for clarification. 4. Maintain your grounds: Parking areas need lighting (pitch black at night). Ensure all walking paths are stable and free of hazards (we had to fix many stones), walking paths are full of weeds and not well maintained. 5. New bathrooms: honestly the bathrooms are disgusting. There is no bathroom that is available to guests who can’t do stairs. I believe Sara hides behind the work that was put into this venue at its creation. She claims its issues are because the spaces & cottages are “eclectic” when I actually think it is just incompetent management & maintenance. To have this venue in this shape, and claim you can’t fix these issues due to money, and then you buy another venue & catering company just doesn’t make sense to me. If Sara can fix these issues, or the venue comes under new management, I would absolutely recommend New Park as a wedding venue!

This was my second trip to New Park for an event and it was more beautiful than I remembered. Many improvements in the surrounding landscape have enhanced the gorgeous surroundings. Staff is friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend!

This is probably an amazing place to have an event. It's extremely pretty and the rooms have a lot of unusual details. Unfortunately their other service, renting out rooms when there is no event happening, fell short. It's quite isolated, and there is no owner on the property, just random cottages you open with a code, and a few open buildings with no one in them. If you wish to get ice you must buy it with venmo. This is a beautiful place with some very interesting quirky details. But the quirky details have replaced the amenities I actually want. I don't need a rain shower, I do need a place to hang my wet towel. I don't need a toilet that requires a remote control and does random things all night long, I do need a place to put my toiletries. I don't need a phone booth in my room, I do need somewhere to plug in my phone. No kidding. There is an actual old-timey phone booth built into the wall. I need a fan that doesn't clunk all night long. Not hearing the guy next door snoring would be awesome. Some bottled water or other welcome giftie would be nice at this price point. Shower is gorgeous, but cracked bottles of shampoo and conditioner must go on the floor because the janky soap holder will not support them. This was a unique experience and it certainly wasn't terrible, the beds were comfy and the vibe is peaceful, but we won't be coming back.

My wife and I stayed at the Finger Lakes cottage and have to say it was absolutely amazing. Self-check-in was easy and straight forward. Upon arrival I happened to notice they only had decaf coffee pods with their Keurig and thinking of morning I texted the number given to us at check-in and within 5 min a staff member was at our door with a cup full of regular coffee pods. Never have had that quick of service at any establishment. As for the room and the grounds, my wife and I spent most the evening exploring and really appreciating the attention to details and how much there was to do. We built a fire with the supplied wood, played the piano in the wishing room as well as threw on some old vinyl's on their record player there. Walked around the gardens and discovered all the garden gnomes hidden throughout. Finished the night sitting by the fire and listening to the running water from the creek that runs right by. It was very relaxing. As for the room we couldn't be happier. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The TV was bigger than most with all the apps so we could watch a movie. We had fun finding all the little easter eggs around the room, such as the race car at the end of Seneca lake or the many elephants around the room. I won't say to much more as I'll let you discover them yourself. Plenty of things to do nearby too and the location was perfect for all the waterfall parks and downtown Ithaca. Would definitely stay again!!

Yelp
When we arrived there is no check in. My door code did not work luckily a new employee got us in and gave us a code. Rooms are nice and quaint. Grounds beautiful- however; walls were thin, loud neighbors up to 1 am. Seems no quite time here. Also street lamp poured into our room basically having the lights on. Had to try to block it out. Shower smells like sewage. Pillows must be 30 years old. GOT NO SLEEP Really like the location. But poor sleeping conditions. No HOT water this morning, no Kleenex in the room

Yelp
Booked the Finger Lakes Cottage for three nights over the holidays. The main bed has a broken mattress that we were not informed of, so we had to sleep on the smaller mattress on "the other side" of cottage. Kind of a bummer! When we inquired with management we were ignored. After a couple weeks, decided to share with Yelp! I dont believe the management team truly cares about the quality of a guests stay, once they have your payment. They also lied about breakfast vouchers, we booked directly with New Park and didn't receive any. Just another ploy to lure people in. They aren't trying to build a business based on repeat customers, more so interested in banging people off the head once real good and sending you on your way, never to return.
