New TORIGIN

Was searching around for a supper spot and chanced upon New Torigin right beside Torigin which was already closed. Had the Shiitake Mushroom Rice Pot (1400yen) and the Assortment of Skewers (1620yen for 6). Skewers were delicious - smoky and glazed in a delicious sweet-savoury sauce. Mushroom rice looked simple but was hearty and full of flavours. Definitely recommend both. Atmosphere was lively and the smell of smoke was not so bad where we were on the second floor. The only con was that we ordered chicken wings as our last order but think the staff forgot about it, wasn't in our bill when we gave up waiting after about 10min and went to pay.

Delicious yakitori and pot rice. We wandered over from Torigin after seeing the wait and were escorted into the restaurant promptly and very impressed with the grilled meat which was juicy and tasty. The staff were polite and friendly and also offered us an English menu.

First dinner in Tokyo, yakitori with pot rice. Wasn’t expecting any crowd given the late timing but there was a queue. Yakitori was nicely grilled especially the chicken wings and liver. Pot rice was very nice too. Highly recommended! 👍🏻

New Torigin is a lively, no-fuss spot that’s perfect for a quick, tasty, and affordable meal. We ordered a variety of skewers and four alcoholic drinks, which brought the bill to a reasonable ¥8,100. The restaurant is split over two levels with three distinct dining areas, each packed and bustling with energy. The food was flavorful, though it didn’t quite have the wow factor, making it ideal for those who want something good without expecting an extravagant experience. We’d definitely go back for a casual meal that’s easy on the wallet.

Overall the food was good but nothing impressive hear. Yakitori is always more pricey than other Japanese food and the quantity is tiny so we just wanted to try it once. We came at 9pm on a rainy Sunday night, the restaurant was full but we didn't have to wait. It's suitable for ones who want to drink with friends and eating is not the main purpose.

New Torigin is our families traditional place to dine when we are in Tokyo. We LOVE the skewers and they go great with a beer (which normally I hate drinking beer 🍺) It’s a very local kind of place to eat and it can get very crowded so it is best if you make reservations. In the past everyone smoked in this place and now there are no smoking signs (so dining here is much much much more enjoyable for everyone) I got a little too excited about eating and forgot to take photos of all the skewers we ate but they were delicious 😋 The grilled chicken skewers with the onion was one of my favorite 😍 Next time I am in Tokyo, I will be back 😁

Good yakitori, efficient service, in the heart of Ginza. The chicken hearts, liver and gizzards are especially good, as well as all vegetable-based skewers. They also offer rice dishes that looked yummy but we were too full to try them...

Excellent yakitori and very friendly staff, showed us the English menu immediately when realized we don’t speak Japanese, the menu includes a QR code that shows a link with a picture menu. Food came pretty fast and they are as good as anything we had in New York that’s perhaps 3-4 times the price. And don’t know why other reviews said credit card is not accepted, we paid with credit card without any issue. It’s NOT a cash only place
