Visiting from the US and randomly stopped by. The line was long but it went fast. While waiting near the door, a local Canadian woman confirmed that New Town Bakery was the BEST in town. We ordered an assortment of dim sum and BBQ pork buns. Hands down it was the best Chinese BBQ pork buns I’ve ever had even better than the ones in Chinatown in SF or LA. I recommend all foodies to visit New Town Bakery and Chinatown BBQ! Also, New Town Bakery was featured in the movie “Always Be My Maybe” with Alie Wong.

I met the lady who runs this place on a trip from Seattle to Vancouver. Asked her and her husband for an authentic place in Chinatown to enjoy real Chinese food. Every dish is good, the staff are very friendly and fast to bring the food! Highly recommend for a full meal or home made Chinese pastries. Also took some treats to my friends back in Seattle. Would definitely be back for more than when I get the chance to visit Vancouver! Thank you for everything, dear Susanna.

This traditional cafe in Chinatown is an iconic landmark that has been in the same location for decades. The legacy of this cafe continues to date bringing traditional dishes from the 70's era to today. Folks from all ethnicities beyond the Chinese frequent New Town for their great value dishes. We found the dishes to be generous in main ingredients (ie. fresh meats and vegetables) and full of flavours (ie. wok air). Oddly, the dishes appeared to be lacking in flavor because they prepare each dish without MSG or excessive chili flavours typical of many restaurants with mainland Chinese influence. Service is fast and efficient. Perhaps this level of efficiency has taken away from the level of friendliness that hints at a higher tip. If you wish to try a traditional Chinese cafe from the 70's era, New Town is a must try.

Google
Authentic Hong Kong style cafe. Their traditional baked goods are the best. Definitely worth a visit if you are from out of town. Dine in food are pretty awesome too. The place could used a bit of updating though.

Got a table right away in the morning. The food was average, and the iced milk tea was very, very sweet. I watched them scoop 3 spoonfuls of sugar for one cup.

Google
Their steamed bbq pork buns and custard buns are delicious (they are different from the ones at dim sum restaurants), but the lotus with egg yolk bun is meh... the egg yolk seemed to be absent? Looking forward to trying the other steamed buns, though!

Google
Delicious bao buns and bakery items! We chose to sit down and eat dim sum, which was great. My favorite was the regular bao, shrimp dumpling and dumplings. Note if you sit, they do not accept credit cards.

This 45-year-old cha chaan teng with an attached bakery in Chinatown offers a nostalgic and authentic taste of Hong Kong. The restaurant carries the charm of an old-school establishment, with a cozy, no-frills atmosphere that reflects its long-standing heritage. The Hong Kong-style wok-fried noodle dishes are freshly made to order, packed with a savory 'wok hei' aroma that speaks to traditional cooking techniques. Their HK-style milk tea is another highlight—served hot, smooth, and with just the right strength and richness. In addition to dining in, customers can also purchase a variety of Chinese steamed buns and Hong Kong-style breads from their bakery section. These include classics like pineapple buns, cocktail buns, and barbecue pork buns, making it a convenient stop for a casual meal or takeaway snacks. While the setting is simple and shows its age, the food quality and nostalgic experience make this a worthwhile destination for anyone craving a genuine Hong Kong-style meal.

Yelp
This place was recommended to me from a woman I met on my plane ride to Vancouver. She said they are famous for their bao buns and boy were they delicious! Note, they accept Canadian and US cash, no credit cards! We opted to sit down and have dim sum as well, but you can grab food to go. Hot tea is included and they come around and refill as many times as you want. We had the following and all were very good: Shrimp dumpling, Coconut pastry, 2 baos :1 spicy 1 regular (we liked the regular better!), Shrimp rice roll , and Potstickers. Service: The service was some of the best we've ever had for dim sum. Our server was Elaine, and she was very helpful and fast. When one thing we ordered was going to take 20 minutes, she recommended we try the potstickers and those were fantastic. They made sure that our hot tea was constantly filled!

Yelp
I was already really full from lunch when I came into this bakery. So I ordered my standard items. Egg tart.= flaky crust and perfect egg fillings  Pineapple bun = huge in size; simple bread, little sweet, little soft Wife cake = I ate it side by side with the famous Kam Do version.  Guess what, New Town version was better for me, the fillings had more texture, and the dough was thinner.

Yelp
We were visiting from Southern California and in our last day thought to have something quick and comforting before our flight in the morning. This place was one of the few opened early enough that morning. The old saying where 3.5 stars probably means good food but poor service is what I was hoping for but uh, no that's not what you get here. Food- very mid. Our Chinese food in LA and OC are much much better than what you get here. AND it's cheaper in the US too even with the strong US dollar. We ordered beef chow fun, wonton duck noodle soup, rice roll, and tofu dish for $90 CAD before tax and tip. I don't mind paying for good food but this was just not it. Ambiance is 1980s Chinese bakery/diner vibe. There are much much better places to eat at with better ambiance and food at this price point

Yelp
There are many imitators, but this location is still the best. Steamed bbq pork buns are their best seller, and the other steamed and baked treats are also great. Depending on what you like, you could easily leave with a giant box of treats! If you have time to sit down for a meal, their menu is old-school Chinatown comfort food. The service is great and even if there's a lineup, it always moves fast.

Yelp
This is cash or debit only. There is a sit down restaurant inside and bakery as well. Every time I go it's got lineups. This place was featured on CNN travel and a Hollywood movie was also filmed here so the place is famous! We have dined here a few times and the food is typical Chinese cuisine. I prefer their bakery though. The apple tarts are very popular but I only recently heard of this. Haven't tried it. My faves are the pork spring rolls which were oily but so yummy! The bola bola buns are delish too! The steamed brown sugar sponge cake also a must try!

Yelp
I recommend only for buns. Tourists are like why would i eat buns on vacation? Good service. Hong kong cafe feel. Low key mom and pop. Somehow no breath of wok. Milk tea was ok. We ate a lot but noticed all the locals just buy all kinds of buns. Their buns were sooo good!!! Even after taking them back to hotel.

Yelp
This is a good authentic aging Kong style bakery and restaurant/cafe. It's now one of our favorites for Vancouver! In the cafe we order Beef Chow fun (with Hong Kong cold and sweetened milk tea not in the photo for the lunch special), wonton soup (with most wontons consumed already), ha gow (shrimp dumpling). All three dishes are yummy, but I have to say I loved the broth that came with the wontons - a simple item done well. You can taste the chicken used to make it, and it's on the salty side as it's as an accompaniment to the wontons. After we ate, we paid and went to the front to buy some baked goods. Service here is quick and what you'd expect of a Chinese establishment. Cash only unless you have a Canadian debit card. Americans like us need cash!

Yelp
some guy on the street recommended this place for authentic dim sum and pastries. I'm glad we didn't pass this place by. There was quite a little line going outside, but I wanted to wait and try this place out. The steam pork buns are huge and delicious. Disappointing that the pineapple bun was empty inside. I also got a sesame ball and it was a delicious dessert. Definitely recommend this place for your dim sum fix.

Yelp
Visited this place early weekday morning at 8am, not many people there and the staffs are more welcoming. The food is amazing, we had steamed bbq bun, steamed big bun, shrimp rice rolls, the 芋頭角deep fried taro bun is the best ever I had. The Hong Kong milk tea is awesome too. They charged 0.50 for takeout box. Cash only, exchange rate for usd is 1.2

Yelp
This Vancouver spot was recommended to us by a foodie friend and it did not disappoint. The line moves fast as the ladies working the counter are hustling to get orders filled. Service is quick and friendlier than I anticipated. I just ordered items from the display cases and the steamed buns from behind the counter. Didn't stay to eat as we were on our way to the park. Only downside is they only take cash and debit. Be sure to prepare for that so you don't miss out on their yummy food.

Yelp
Came here around 5pm on a weekday and there was no wait. We did dine-in. Got two steamed buns: the pork bun ($3.75) and chicken deluxe ($4.75). The buns were so soft and had the perfect texture. The filling inside the chicken deluxe was quite generous and super tasty. The pork was yummy, but there wasn't a lot of pork inside. We also got the 1/4 pound BBQ duck ($21.50) and the seafood and tofu soup ($16.75). The duck was solid and some pieces had a good amount of meat. The sauce was interesting, but wasn't my favorite. The seafood and tofu soup was pretty good, but needed more flavor. Most of the seafood (fish, shrimp, squid) was tender. Note: they only accept cash or debit card.

Yelp
New Town Bakery & Restaurant was recommended by a Vancouver friend and funnily also appeared on my hotel's travel & tourism channel, so I thought I'd give them a try when I visited Chinatown. Look for the gigantic baos in a bamboo basket above the awning of this place-- you can't miss it! Since I already had lunch, I ordered to-go a couple items to enjoy later: one veggie egg roll and one baked BBQ pork bun. The veggie eggroll was standard but good; it was packed with mushroom, vermicelli noodle, carrot, and cabbage. It was oily, but still crispy one hour later. The baked BBQ bun had a good amount of sweet and savory pork, and the bun was soft and fluffy. I ate it four hours later so it was cold, but I think it would've been more enjoyable warmed. Within its name, New Town is both a bakery and a sit-down restaurant. The bakery display case in the front of the store calls to you to try everything, as they all looked so good. This place is perfect to buy several bakery items to-go and enjoy later in a park. FYI, they're cash only!

Yelp
The pork buns here are delicious, and the service is excellent. However, finding a parking spot can be a bit of a challenge. If you're willing to deal with the parking, it's definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
Visiting from California I thought Good Mong Kok Bakery from San Francisco was goated.. This bakery is really close or comparable to it except their bbq pork buns are slightly crispier. I wasn't a huge fan of the apple tart which they are well known for but it's apparently one of their best sellers. I've tried their frozen Hargow and shumai and it definitely was one of the better frozen style dim sums. It was pretty cheap and filling also!
google avatar

Christopher F.

Yelp
Cash only so I always give a point off for not being in the digital age. Also we ordered sweet and savory which should be separated. Their bbq bun was one of the best I have had perfectly sweet and soft bread nice amounts of bbq pork. Curry beef equally outstanding. The cream cone and almond cookie was disappointing. The cream was could but the pastry was hard. Almond cookie was hard and not flavorful would avoid this. All n all a solid place.

Yelp
A must try if you're in the area. We came in on a Thursday morning to a pretty busy restaurant. We were able to find a seat for two quickly though. The service is quick but good. It reminds me of the shops in new york where you need to know what you want to order once you sit in, but a lot nicer. They're pretty efficient and want to get each person in and out as fast as possible, but it surprisingly didn't feel rushed or that they wanted to kick us out as soon as we finished our food. We got the iced coffee and a chicken congee while sitting in the restaurant. Then a few bao and donuts to go. The chicken congee was great and came with a good amount of chicken that was tender. The congee itself has a more delicate flavor, but the texture was spot on. We got the chicken deluxe bao, pork bao, salty donut, and sweet donut. Both the bao were good with a good filling to dough ratio and they're pretty reasonably priced. The sweet donut reminded me of a buttermilk bar but with more chew. The salty donut was a classic youtiao shape, but again more chew. Overall a very nostalgic cafe that I'd recommend trying if you're in the area! Also they only take canadian debit or cash (US or Canadian)

Yelp
Came at the suggestion of friends who visited Vancouver recently and I find this place decent for what it is in terms of quality and pricing. If you dine in, just know they will up-charge the baked goods from the display case. I didn't feel like trying to eat an egg tart while running around Chinatown so I opted to have it before leaving. I feel like I've had better and I would say it's your run of the mill HK style cafe type of food. Although I did not come for the service I DEFINITELY have had better service before lol. The lady who brought me my check was not the same person who sat me and took my order, but she made me want to walk out immediately. If you pay in cash, they make sure you know that what you paid does not include tip...obviously I know that and it just makes me less inclined to tip if they point it out. In hindsight, I should have just directly tipped the lady that actually helped me instead of leaving the tip on the table

Yelp
I'm visiting BC for a few weeks and every weekend since the first that I found out about their steamed bao with lotus paste and egg yolk, I've been hooked! The very best! I must return to get more!

Yelp
Pineapples and coconut are something to die for. First time trying out this place - thanks to old friends. Loved the experience.

Yelp
I was told that I had to visit New Town Bakery and I'm honestly not sure why. I didn't feel like it was anything special. They had a large variety of different savory buns as well as sweet pastries. There wasn't a line when we went, but I've heard it's quite popular and there can often be a big wait. This is an old school Chinese bakery. We ordered a few buns, but they didn't have all of the filling choices available when we went. I was able to at least get one of the pork ones and it was good. Tasted like comfort food from home. This place is cash only, so keep that in mind. You can pay in US dollars, but will receive change in Canadian currency.
google avatar

Tawny V.

Yelp
The customer service here is typical of any Chinese restaurant, but somewhat better than Los Angeles Chinatown (California). They have a huge to go section but they also grab those items for the restaurant. Initially, they put us at a table near the check in station which was in the way and thankfully a booth opened so our server was more than happy to move us, wish we came with more people to try more stuff but it was just my partner and I. The owner was around and greeting guests she knew, overall, I would highly recommend this spot if you are in the area and don't forget Chinatown has the best souvenir prices all around! The ambiance is loud, busy and typical of a chinese restaurat! If you have the American dollar, here's a tip for yah - head to the bank first to exchange currency. 1. Its free. 2. The dollar is more so it's worth it. 3. Restaurant accepts CASH ONLY
google avatar

Yelp
This bakery hit the spot on a rainy museum day with the perfect snack to munch on. With a great array of both sweet and savoury treats, even with the queue kit the door, the service was quick and reliable on this quick cozy corner.

Yelp
Read a lot of Vancouver reviews and wanted to come check out this bakery in Chinatown. relatively busy on a Sunday after lunch, but not too crazy. The staff were all friendly and fast-paced. Was a bit disappointed in the quality of the food. Read a lot of "award-winning" pieces. The food was very average and a typical HK cafe. We had Steamed Buns, Shrimp dumplings, Baked Buns, egg fried rice, Steamed tofu with soya sauce, open bun. *** they charge you for to-go containers and paper bags - which was a surprise to me, ****they do no accept credit cards, only CAD/USD/or debit cards. We had USD and the exchange rate is about 1.38, they only offer 1.20cad for $1usd.

Yelp
Very versatile kitchen. This spot was a popular and long time restaurants. We liked most of the items we ordered from the menu: - Congee: on point - Egg foo Young: on point and crispy - Bao with pork: deliscious - Egg tart: was a little disappointing because I have had better - Moon cake: good but quite expensive. $6 CAD for a small one
google avatar

Yelp
This place has really good pork asado and bola bola. We always make an effort to come here to buy some to bring back home. The bola bola has a balls of meat, egg yolk, and a couple pieces of meat. The pork asado is so savory and delicious. The egg tart is slightly bigger than dim sum places. My sister is a big fan of the prawn turnover, it's like the football with the minced pork that's in dim sum, except it's like a prawn in the center. Don't be intimidated by the long line, as it moves quickly. Make sure you look at the menu before, to expedite the lines, as many seems to take a long time to decide what they want as they're up in front. Make sure you have Canadian money for more bang for your buck. Cash only. No cards. They do accept US dollars but it's $1 for $1. The ambiance is alright, as you are expected to be in and out. Sad to see that Vancouver is not what it used to be, when families would gather around, walk the streets to different shops and buy fruits and goodies to devour at the park.
google avatar

Paul Y.

Yelp
The bakery section is unmatched. Prawn turnover was the best thing I've eaten in a long while.... Ugh I miss it already.
google avatar

Robert B.

Yelp
Bakery items seem to be the focus here, and the place is beloved by many for its ambience of "old school Hong Kong comfort food". For me, the menu was not exactly inspirational, and contrary to the opinions of its many devotees, I found that there are infinitely better version of the items I ordered in other places. Good buns though!
google avatar

Kevin P.

Yelp
One of the last few hidden gems of China town. You can't miss it, it has a big dumpling on top of it. This is the old school location where all locals go according to the people we asked. They accept US dollars! Cash only as well. Service is very fast. There is also indoor seating! Steam pork bun: 5/5 Egg tart: fluffy and perfect 5/5
google avatar

Nga N.

Yelp
Cash only so we had to wait until the bank nearby opens in order to withdraw money for our food right before leaving Vancouver. Was it worth it? Nah. Food was aight. Kindna disappointed on how it was good lol. We wanted Chinese food before returning back to the States, and since it was early in the morning not many places were opened. Options were limited which was why we were here. I didn't enjoy anything I had that were dimsum related- chicken congee, pineapple bun, their famous bun, dumplings, etc.
google avatar

Michele T.

Yelp
Walking through Chinatown and came across New Town Bakery. Mentioned to hubs that they were reportedly known for their pineapple buns and apple tarts. Since we didn't know when we'd return, hubs wanted to give it a try. If we weren't heading for dinner, I would've loved to try more of their offerings. Since we were heading for dinner, hubs just got an apple tart ($2.50) to try. The apple tart was a tad small for the price. However, as far as taste, hubs noted it was flaky on the outside and doughy on the inside. Apples were tart and not too sweet. Good, but nothing outstanding. Glad to have given it a try.

Yelp
Perfect spot to chill with a pork bun. They have an automatic machine that ties boxes with string. Lots of people on the area faded from eating g so much good snacks.
google avatar

Ray K.

Yelp
Get your dim sum, bbq pork bun and even wonton noodles soup. Quick service and get all kind of pastries with freshness.

Yelp
Pork bun tastes great and brings back good memories from the home land. Great service and friendly atmosphere.

Yelp
You didn't go to Vancouver BC if you didn't go to New Town to buy and bring home siopao for your family and friends. Lol! Filipinos know what I'm talking about! The siopao has been a staple for me and my family since I was a kid. Not only is their siopao good, but there are so many other items they have, and they serve dim sum in their restaurant, too. Be sure to bring your Canadian dollars cause they don't take your credit cards. They'll take US dollars but will low ball you with the exchange rate and give you Canadian dollars as change. The area sucks NGL, and parking is on the street. We're often in and out - just to order our goodies, and then we end up eating elsewhere. It's usually pretty queued up at times but moves quickly.

Yelp
This was the second bakery that I visited yesterday during my time in Vancouver for my trip and it was amazing! I visited this restaurant yesterday to buy a snack and it was pretty quiet inside. Also, the service was really good when I was ordering my food. The first item I ordered was the Pineapple Bun which was very flavorful, soft, fluffy, and had the perfect level of sweetness. The second item that I ordered was the Egg Tart which had an egg that was really soft. Also, the crust was very flaky, soft, and not too hard. The third item I ordered was the Hong Kong Style Milk Tea which had a very balanced flavor that was not too sweet. Overall, this is an awesome bakery and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to go to a good Chinese bakery!

Yelp
NOTE: cash and Canadian debit only I stopped by Friday afternoon around 4 pm to pick up a quick bite to eat before a nearby show. I love Chinese bakeries so I always try to stop by one when I'm in the vicinity. They still had a good selection of pastries and hot dimsum items left, which I was excited about as I had been worried a lot of the items would be sold out. I picked up a steamed pork bun, taro turnover, and sponge cake for ~$10 total. The pork bun and sponge cake were both good, but the taro turnover was only lukewarm. It felt like it had been sitting in the display for a while and wasn't fresh. There's a sitting area as well, but that's for dine-in only. I was annoyed I couldn't squat for 5 minutes to eat my takeout items and instead had to awkwardly stand outside the restaurant to eat. Parking is all metered in the area. Good luck if you can find anything less than $4/5/hour.
google avatar

Minh L.

Yelp
One of the only dim sum places that was open at the time and day we arrived in Chinatown. This place most likely is known for their bakery which is in the front as you enter. The back of the building is the restaurant portion which serves normal food and dim sum. Service was fine, but be sure to have cash or a Canadian debit card because they do not accept any other forms of payment. We decided to have the dim sum and a few items from the bakery. The dim sum was below average. I would not come back here for any of the dim sum items. The bakery items were okay, but nothing to cry home about. Overall, I would not come back for dim sum, but I would probably give the bakery another chance since there was such a large assortment of baked items we wanted to try.

Yelp
Stopped by to have a quick afternoon snack a mini portion with tea or coffee. I ordered the traditional Fried Rice Noodles with Beef 干炒牛河 with Hong Kong style coffee. First of all the coffee was weak and luke warm. Coffee lack of aroma and not enough evaporated milk. The noodle dish was greasy but authentic enough with bean sprouts and green onions. They could marinate the beef a bit more in my opinion. I understand this was not a regular order so they cut corners somewhere. Usually this dish should be served with red pepper sauce but the servers were too busy chatting in Cantonese among themselves that I didn't bother to ask. This place only accepts cash or debit card. I paid in cash but when the server left the changes on my table I was checking mails on my cellphone and sadly I was short changed a dollar. Either it was a genuine mistake or not I did not bother to leave any gratuity. This joint makes profit mainly by selling baked goods at the front. This is your typical Char Cheng Tang ambience but you need to travel outside Chinatown for better values.

Yelp
Must try!! Came in just to look with no intention to get anything, walked out with 2 boxes of goodies. Everything tasted so fresh. So many choices. My favorite was the bbq pork bao bun. It was filled with delicious filling, pineapple bun was very nice. Peanut mochi - perfection. Everything we tried tasted so great. Expect a line!
google avatar

Jessica W.

Yelp
Passes by this place and wanted to try the the egg tart and the sesame ball. Omg it is so good! The egg tart is warm, flaky, and creamy. It is pretty big than a normal dim sum egg tart we usually get and better. And the sesame ball has red bean inside. The outside layer taste like mochi in sesame and the filling is a good amount of ratio. I will be craving for more of these egg tart and sesame balls here. Cash only- they take Canadian and US dollar.
google avatar

David F.

Yelp
Not like my favorite dim sum place in SF (Ton Kiang) but still this bakery had a nice selection on the menu to try. Pork steam and baked buns, egg custard, fried rice. And mango pudding made for a good meal. For US visitors- they DO NOT ACCEPT credit or debit cards - so bring CN cash. Fast and pleasant service but in a run down part of Chinatown. Very typical street scene these days in major North American west coast cities - the poor and destitute homelessness, drug use, etc.
google avatar

Yelp
Lots of variety of buns, breads, pastries, and dimsum. I came here twice in a week. On the first visit, I ordered fried taro--I don't know how to pronounce it in English, which is shaped like and looks like a "football." It was fresh--crispy and fried on outside, and nice soft flavorful pork and taro inside. I also had a curry beef phyllo dough, which was good inside but had too much "puff" in the pastry. On my second visit, I got a the baked chai sui, which was tasty, and four sui mai, which were also tasty. Only US or CAN money, no credit card, for to go. This places charges, a few dollars, if you dine in, according to the sign posted. Since I only wanted a few things anyway, I did to go: My first visit had a long line, but my second visit did not, even though both were on weekday mornings.

Yelp
I have not been to the restaurant itself but I got to try their food an event. The veggie bao are massive, so fluffy, and filled with a delicious light veggie stuffing (with mushrooms and bok choy). The filling was just on the borderline of being underseasoned, but the delicate flavor let the bun shine. In contrast to the understated veggie bao, the coconut bun was so rich and buttery! The filling was the perfect combination of salty and sweet -- I think they must put dry milk powder in there or something to give it a really creamy kick. Everything was perfectly cooked. The food was so fresh and hot even though it was delivery. I don't eat meat but a lot of other people were going nuts for their pork bao. Overall, can't speak to the restaurant, but I would definitely recommend the buns here!

Yelp
Quick service, but make sure to be prepared because it is cash only! Egg tart - Pretty big in size and delicious! Super flakey and perfectly baked Chicken Deluxe Bao - Good! Everything was cooked perfectly, the flavors really complimented each other Lavender Salted Egg Yolk Bun - A little too salty with the yolk that overpowered the other flavors, still very soft and good!

Yelp
BBQ pork bun, lots of filling but not as good as I remembered. It was 10/10 in Feb,2022 but now I can only give it a 7/10.The taste is off. Maybe new Baker? Curry beef bun, better, also lots of fillings, 8/10 Pineapple bun, 8/10. Giant almond cookie, forgot to take a picture before gobbled it down. taste is off also and not crispy enough and I didn't get the satisfied feeling when I put it in my mouth. 7/10. Price is on the expensive side. Almost $3 each . Disappointed!

Yelp
It's probably the only iconic place left in Chinatown. It was a must stop for my out of town visitors. They had to buy a bit of everything including their famous apple tart which I may add, is to die for. Everything else was delish. It's located on West Pender off Main Street. It can be challenge looking for parking. Just look for the huge white buns in a steam basket on the top of their awning. There's a restaurant at the back which was busy. We only stopped for the baked goodies. Prices were okay considering you're getting tasty treats.

Yelp
The best siopao I ever had! Rumors were true! Lines were long but customer service was speedy. I've heard they sell out by the afternoon and you'll see why. Siapoa was perfect! Pillow fluffy, chewy dough with tender braised lovely pork. If you are ever in the Seattle area for more than a week, a drive to Vancouver for Siapo should be added to your plans!

Yelp
A place to go for siopao, a must have when in Vancouver. Service is quick. The only draw back is that they only take cash. Otherwise I would have given them 5 stars.

Yelp
This is my go to place for breakfast buns, for bringing it across the border for relatives in Seattle, for visiting friends in hospital and many more. I miss their Richmond location. It used to be conveniently located but after they moved to Chinatown where parking is difficult, I have to admit I buy less often. Funny how my trip to Chinatown entails calling friends and family and taking orders to do them a favor. The employees, esp Helen, are remarkable in Math, perfectly multiplying and adding multiple orders. They are very efficient as well - multi tasking and works quickly. Our family's favorite is Pork Asado and Chicken. Yum! Dough is soft and filling is consistently good...although lately Pork Asado has a tad more pork fat in it. Chicken is just the way we love it. We wrap each one in cling wrap once it has cooled down and it lasts in the fridge or freezer. The dough is just as soft. We frequent this place since Pork Asado was $0.90 per piece. Prices have gone up to $3.25 now but still irresistible. Just a suggestion to the owners to resize their boxes. I find my hot baos squished when I get home . The cool ones, not cold from the freezer, retains their shape if you're particular like me.
