If you want to go on a tour of a small distillery and want a in depth presentation on spirits along with taste tests, this is a excellent place to go. Chris, the owner/operator along with his wife give you a lot of great information about vodka, agave spirits, gin and others that gave us (just now and then cocktail drinkers) a whole different outlook on these alcohols. Highly recommended if you are in the Ogden, Utah area. Side note; if you are interested in buying a bottle of one of the alcohols the price is very reasonable for a great tasting product.

Google
Great tour of the ‘real deal’ of an actual, local distillery. New World does not source their products from other distilleries. Chris does a fantastic job of explaining the process from fermenting, to distilling, and aging to get to the final product, whether it’s their gin, tequila, or bourbon. Do the tour and get a small tasting before buying. It’s all good, but the gin is phenomenal. I didn’t take too many photos and was careful to not be too invasive or disruptive to the tour. We had a great experience here. We were there to purchase a bottle of the Wasatch Blossom since it’s the closest thing to a particular raspberry liquor that my husband loves. The front of the distillery looked very nice and welcoming (just watch out for the crazy amounts of grasshoppers 😂). When we walked in, we saw all sorts of items for sale like shirts, chocolate, drinking glasses, honey, mixers, etc. When the lady at the front was done with another customer, she asked if she could help us. We told her what we were looking for and she asked if we wanted to sample it for $1. I thought it was really neat that we could sample it before making a purchase! My husband took one sip and was hooked. We walked out of there with two bottles of liquor, two chocolate bars, and a promo code for 50% off a tasting tour (which we really want to do). We’ll be back!

This is absolutely a place not to miss when you are visiting Eden! I truly appreciate how knowledgeable Chris and Ashley are about their craft! Book a tour ! Enjoy the tasting and learn about what you are drinking! Become a spirit geek!! I am not a gin fan until I tasted their Ommaw Gin!! It’s the absolute best!! We hosted a client event and had the most amazing time. Thank you for bringing your love of spirits to the Valley!

Passion. Quality. Flavor. The TOUR: We did the $20 tour, reasonably priced BUT lots of standing during the tour so wear the right shoes for that. There are some seats, but it is really designed as a standing tour so plan accordingly. The tour was educational and gave me a greater appreciation for what actually goes into each bottle. A great opportunity to learn more about distilling and/or get a behind the scenes look at what goes into each bottle - not to mention the tasting experience, I’d definitely recommend the tour. The TASTING: Smooth, yes. We tasted the vodka, tequila x 2, gin and cherry liqueur. The gin, be sure to smell it before u drink it. U can smell every herbally infused flavor (apologies if this is not the right vernacular description of how those flavors get there 🧐) - which I thought was pretty cool. I could mostly smell the ethanol for the tequila and vodka. I actually liked the cherry liqueur - thinking it would go great on my cheesecake 😳. Both the tour and alcohol were well priced for what u get. Emphasis, again, on quality flavor. The whiskey was sold out and apparently sells out within and hour of release - get on their email list if that’s what u r looking for. Lots of parking. Nice restroom. Cozy space. The vibe is casual and welcoming. The owner radiated his passion for creating and continually improving their process, aiming for perfection in getting the best and most flavor into each bottle. That was nice to see 😊.

Google
Ashley was super informative and friendly. We came at a time when tours weren’t offered but loved listening to her stories and learning more about the different spirits. Oomaw gin is fantastic so we had to go back for more. Thanks for the t-shirt!!

The New World Distillery is in a beautiful mountain valley with delicious spirits. Ashley, one of the owners, was very kind and knowledgeable about their products. I loved the rotating batch of the season which was an apple brandy, it was absolutely delicious! They also have a fun store with lots of unique distillery gifts. Would highly recommend checking out NWD:)

This was such a great tour! We learned so much, we couldn't stop talking about it afterwards. Chris was so passionate, knowledgeable and entertaining. The spirits were delicious! If you're in the area, don't miss this.

Yelp
Amazing tasting, Chris is so passionate about the amazing liquor they distill. Don't leave without a bottle of the tart cherry!

Yelp
A neat lil distillery nestled in the mountains in Eden, Utah. We bought two tickets for a distillery tour (I think they were ~$20 each) & the experience was well worth the money. Chris & Ashley, co-owners of New World Distillery, have perfected the ideal distillery tour. It was a seamless blend of technical distilling knowledge, equipment explanations, liquor industry lore, & of course, taste-testing. We tasted 7 of their products, straight & neat, & learned a bit about each one. The vodka was amazingly drinkable. Distilled from agave, it has a pleasant sweetness to it that differentiates it from other vodkas. It also, unsurprisingly, smells a bit like tequila. At the tail end of the tour, Chris made the smooooothest transition to a lil speech on supporting small distilling. The war against big booze rages on, but Chris definitely gained some small booze warriors that day. It's clear they love motorcycles at this distillery. Half of the spots out front are reserved for bikes. I hope to come back on my hog someday. Thank you Chris & Ashley for inviting us into your world for a little bit. We could only take one bottle with us (we got on a plane to Rhode Island the next day) but we'll definitely be back for more someday.

Yelp
Love this place every time we are in town we have to stop by. Chris the owner was so professional and informative. We just go in for tastings and we love love the gin and the vodka we always buy extra to travel home with. Such a beautiful spot to check out

Yelp
Always a delight to experience a tour here. The booze is delicious, Chris is informative and charming, and the vibe is immaculate. We took a couple of Booze Noobs with us yesterday and had a great time. The barrel-rested Oomaw gin was complex and layered. The tank top I bought is the softest thing I've ever felt. I had the privilege a few years ago to attend one of their dinners after my grad school graduation. It's still a favorite memory and was perfectly timed happenstance. Don't miss this distillery. You won't regret it.

Laurie E.

Yelp
The owner really showed us about the vodka and gin game. The booze was great and I bought a couple bottles. We plan to come back for the tour. Awesome distillery, yay New World Distillery

Tina K.

Yelp
We had a lovely tasting with Ashley. The spirits are the best I have tasted. The quality and craftsmanship of the products are fantastic. Ashley's knowledge and delivery was outstanding. We were fortunate to have an in depth, one on one conversation for a period of time. I highly recommend visiting. We weren't in town during a scheduled tour but will do our best to experience the full process next visit. Ashley recommended many cycling and hiking trails (the reason we were in town) that were exactly what we were seeking. She also recommended Shooting Star Saloon in Huntsville. The two businesses are night and day, yet equally fun!!

Yelp
As a future resident of Ogden Valley, I've been eagerly following the local businesses on social media. Was excited to check out New World Distillery on a Thursday afternoon and the gentleman there (owner possibly?) couldn't have seemed more irritated at our presence. No asking us how we heard of them, no offering of product description (only after I inquired about what they made there), no stories about their history, tours, nothing. Needless to say we left without purchasing anything and unfortunately will probably not return.

Yelp
OK, so let me start this review by saying I'm not a tequila guy. Thankfully, even though they make spirits from agave, none of what they make is tequila. The Mrs. and I stopped in to see just what kind of a place a distillery in Utah might be, and we were quite happy with the results. While the agave spirits are very, very good, they're not my cup of tea. However, their gin is out-of-this-world fantastic, and we picked up a bottle of their cherry liqueur to share with my family. They have one bottle that's agave, distilled like a whiskey, and aged in bourbon barrels. Unreal good. One of the owners explained all of their spirits to us, and just how freaking awesome is it to have the owner of the distillery explain their product to you while you sip it? IT'S FREAKING AWESOME. So, to sum up: Great spirits. I preferred the gin and the cherry liqueur, but that's because I'm not an agave guy. My wife liked all of them, specially the Reposado. They have spirits that aren't sold in the liquor stores, meaning you can only get them at the distillery. Stop in and get some!

Yelp
Took an awesome tour describing the distillery process for a few of their liquors and about liquor in general, along with tasting their bottles. I learned a lot and left pleasantly educated and felt ready to pick out future alcohol! Liked the local but elevated size of the establishment. The gin was really interesting and I left with a bottle! I found the education (and drink itself lol) of the 'agave spirit' aka the tequila really awesome. Definitely recommend to locals who want to support a good local place right across the mountain. Thanks Chris for a wonderful tour!

Yelp
Don't waste your time... decided to support a small business and wanted to pick up something unique for a Craft Cocktail here in The Valley. Pulled up the directions and for whatever reason, the Geo-Tag is completely off and will bring you to the wrong part of Eden where the park and Mexican restaurant are located. After searching the building, we saw a sign with an arrow and mention of distillery posted on the fence across from the building and drove to follow back to the other side of Eden towards Wolf Creek. We caught the Gentleman in the building and asked if he was still open to which he replied "For another 5 Minutes". I then asked if they recently relocated and got the attitude of "nope, been here four years"..... so much for getting some local spirits for a stiff drink, I ended up getting stiffed by the guy behind the desk. If you want to support a small business , go elsewhere.. like to the liquor store in Wolf Creek, the check out guy more than made up for the shenanigans at New World Distillery......

Yelp
I was experiencing a need to get away from the neighborhood, and see somewhere pretty. Plus, you can never go wrong visiting one of Utah's many fine distilleries. We lucked out and arrived 20 minutes before a very small tour group was going to start. Every distillery I've been to in Utah has a very different personality. None have been bad, but some really jump out as something special. I had purchased the Oomaw Gin a few months ago. I'm always on the lookout for the special Gin that can become our "house" gin. It's always ended up being a hard to get Gin not available in Utah. That's changed. The Oomaw is fantastic. It's world class. The tour showed why that's the case. I've been to many distilleries with passionate owners, but Chris was able to explain why Gin is so much harder to make than the masses of Rums and Whiskies in the area. I'm a convert. Making the effort to visit is worth the trip. You will find a wonderful tour, and world class spirits in a beautiful location. Thank you Chris and Ashley for spending so much time with my incessant questions and discussion.

Yelp
We have been here several times and it is such a cute. We live in Ohio and come visit my daughter in Ogden and this is always a must stop for us. With that being said.....if you come and the lady is working you are going to have a good time and get lots of info. If you get the dude be prepared to be talked down to and made to feel ignorant. He is arrogant and not friendly and always makes us feel like we are bothering him by coming in to buy $250 worth of product. Bottom line, it's a crap shoot. You are either going to have a really good time or be upset that you drove up the mountain to be treated with no respect. Next time if I see him I will walk out and not spend a dime.

Yelp
Eden is my second home. I spent a ton of my youth in this amazing (and fairly unknown) town, and so I was thoroughly surprised when I found out my quaint little Eden was home to a new distillery - and not just any distillery. This is a distillery that makes the fun kinds of alcohol - gin, and tequila (Agave Spirits). After all, no one has ever said they got up and danced on tables after just a beer or two. Though open for a little while now, the official grand opening for New World was this past weekend. As coincidence had it, I had already planned a trip to Eden, so stopping at the opening worked out perfectly. The building is off the main highway that runs through Eden, an easy walk from the Valley Market (or almost any place in Eden that's not high Wolf Creek). You'd never know this location was there until you stumble upon it. When you enter the warehouse/building, you will immediately be in the gift shop slash place where you purchase tastings. For us, the tastings were done in time increments (possibly just to keep the crowds down for the opening). $2 per 1/2oz taste for either Gin or Tequila. I, of course, had to try both. The tasting was done a little further into the warehouse. The man running it was obviously very knowledgeable in the processing of the alcohols, as well as the flavors, and additions. We tried the Tequila first - Rabbit Grass. The Agave Spirit (it can only be called Tequila in Mexico) was extremely flavorful. Our tasting guide suggest we hold it on our tongues for over 10 seconds, breathing in to get the full effect. I did this, and ... man. The tequila is smooth, but so flavorful. I can honestly say, I think it's the most flavorful tequila I've ever had. The aftertaste is amazing too. (My sister refused to try my gin so she could maintain the flowery-taste in her mouth). The Gin Oomaw was just as flavor packed. I'll be honest with you. I'm not a huge gin-girl..but this one won my heart. Again, flavor packed. We sampled it in the same style - holding it and breathing in. I can see some Oomaw Gin and Tonics in my near future. Not only does New World have amazing alcohols - they have awesome labels and swag. The graphic art was done by a local artist - and it will make you want to buy all the alcohols, as well as every hoodie, shirt, water bottle and hat with the designs on it. Good move, New World. During the tasting, we were told that a batch of Vodka will be ready in the Summer. After my first experience at New World Distillery, their Vodka is one I will need to try as soon as it's out.

Yelp
I was blown away by the products made by New World Distillery. Actually ruined me for the regular run of the mill gin..... Chris and Ashley (owners) are personable and enjoy sharing their craft with tours and tastings (pre Covid). We buy bottles to send to family who have enjoyed the gin over the years. And now they can order the same online! Can't imagine a better place to be in our valley and better people to produce such great spirits!

Francesca D.

Yelp
Great place... we were lucky to find the last bottle of apple brandy... lovely hint of bourbon, super good. Highly recommend. Also, we loved the passion of the owner explaining us all the ingredients that goes into the tastes we tried!

Chris C.

Yelp
Amazing owners, facility, ethos and product. We hosted our dinner club for the tour and everyone loved it. We learned so much and could t have asked for better hosts than Chris and Ashley Cross. We highly recommend the tour and the spirits.

Yelp
This place rocks!! We have family from Reno, NV and Denver who make special trips to buy from New World. Everything they sell is top shelf. The owner is delightful and she is so knowledgeable and informative. We love going and thrilled we found them.

Yelp
Will not be supporting this place any longer. Taste like cheap Liquer from Germany. Will tell everyone I know not to buy from here. Stay away.

Yelp
Had the best tour yesterday at New World Distillery. Chris was our tour guide and his passion, enthusiasm and sincere interest in the world of distilling was palpable. My friends and I are in our early 20s (23/24 to be exact). Chris really catered the tour to us, explaining how the vodka we probably drank in college was absolutely nothing compared to his vodka and when we tasted his vodka, we felt as if we were living the high life. Chris described all his spirits so well and all were incredibly flavorful, pure and rich. He described the actual fermenting and distilling process so well and really made sure we understood each step and how the beautiful machines (Veronica especially) worked. The store and distillery itself are beautiful. They keep is so clean. The actual bottles the spirits are bottled in are gorgeous. The artwork is breathtaking and so unique. We bought some spirits just to have the bottle afterwards! 10/10 experience. Will definitely recommend to those who find themselves in eden!

Yelp
This place is truly a hidden gem! Their passion for spirits and unique blends is a testament to the quality. Get the Gin! Take all suggestions that You receive. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to take the full tour, but the take out order was incredibly well enjoyed! Stop by this spot!

Yelp
Friends invited a small group to join them in a spirits-tasting at the New World Distillery in Eden, Utah. (This was a tour auctioned at an Ogden Nature Center fund-raiser.) What an absolute treat for us on July 20, 2017. Chris and Ashley Cross, who own the distillery and run a world-class operation, were as delightful a couple as you could meet. Not only were they super friendly, they were as knowledgeable as anyone their age could be about the art and science of spirit making. It was obvious that they not only had many years of practical experience but also had academic training in the science of distillation of spirits. They also shared their experiences in starting a business with sustainable values in mind while meeting the challenges of marketing their products in a state new to craft distilleries. We were impressed with the concerns Chris and Ashley have about running an environmentally friendly business. Their electricity comes from solar sources, the water used for cooling is 100% recirculated, the waste stream is almost non-existent, they use organic botanical ingredients, use very well insulated fermenters, and even meet international standards for minimal light pollution. The wonderful setting of Ogden Valley, along with the environmentally conscious architecture of the plant was another added feature. What great community partners working towards sustainable living. Their Uncharted Series Vodka was simply outstanding. You could easily tell that the ferment was Blue Agave. Unlike large scale commercially produced Vodka, even the top shelf and expensive ones, this Vodka had a very smooth finish that did not rip your esophagus. The Oomaw Gin was such a unique gin that I would not want to mix many other flavors in a cocktail, though Ashley gave us some ideas and recipes for cocktails with their gin. The botanicals used in their gin come through clearly. (By the way, they use local Utah Juniper berries.) I could detect the coriander as well as some of the other botanicals used. A superior gin! The bottle used for their gin reflects the detail and excellence of the entire operation. A Utah artist was employed to design the bottle and the result - well an outstanding and beautiful dragonfly with interesting detail of mountains on the forewings and a honey-bee (Chris and Ashley keep bees and are fond of using honey in their cocktails) and Utah's Delicate Arch on the hind-wings. Their Agave Spirit (cannot use the term Tequila since this product is not distilled in the Tequila region of Mexico, even though Chris gets his Blue Agave syrup from Jalisco, Mexico) is a great tasting spirit. As with the gin and vodka, smooth and flavorful enough that is seems like a waste to use in cocktails rather than sipping them neat. The folks with science backgrounds in our group were impressed with the quality of the equipment Chris invested in for the production of spirits. The two 2,000 liter fermenters (super insulated) and the two stills (one fully automated and computerized while the other is fairly manual) are definitely world-class, as is the whole operation of the New World Distillery. Make a visit to the NWD, a true Utah gem, and you will be impressed.

Yelp
Another hidden gem in Utah. Small signage makes it a little difficult to find, but well worth the effort. Amazing spirits made in small batches using organic ingredients. You will never look at vodka, gin or agave the same. The gin was the best we've ever had. Depth of flavor makes it worth the cost. We didn't take the tour, but others in the tasting room said it was informative and enjoyable. This is a must if you are into excellent hand crafted spirits.
google avatar

Jesse H.

Yelp
New World Distillery has everything: a beautiful, solar powered, purpose built building located in gorgeous Eden, UT, amazing owners who act as gracious hosts and show you everything there is to see about their unique gin distilling process, and then there's the product! Their Oomaw Gin is such a treat, different than any gin I've drank before and made with all organic ingredients; plus, it's local! The tours of the distillery are such a fun time, and the excitement the owners produce while educating tourists about their process and product is contagious - you'll leave wanting to quit your job to start distilling your own spirits. Ashley and Chris have made something truly special at New World Distillery, I'll be back soon for more Oomaw gin, and to do another tasting when their Agave spirits and Ogden Valley Vodka are ready - I can't wait!

Yelp
We stay in Huntsville every summer for 8-10 days while we visit family and enjoy PineView Reservoir and the local attractions. We heard a rumor about 3 years ago about a Tequila Distillery that was opening up, but every summer we checked and there was a delay in their opening...which came as no surprise, after all, this is Utah and they have some strict/strange liquor laws (we live in CA). FINALLY! This trip, it was open and we were able to visit! We are traveling with our dog, he goes where we go, so we called ahead to see if he was welcome. Luckily the owner answered the phone and I loved his answer "let's see how it goes". Our pup is trained and well behaved, so it worked out, but if he wasn't, I don't think he would be welcome. If your dog is not one that will lie at your feet and relax during your tasting, please do not bring him/her - we would love for this establishment to be dog-friendly for our next visit. We walked in at about Noon on a Tuesday and were greeted by the owner (same one that answered the phone). We were the only patrons at that time. He was interesting and willing to share his trials and tribulations regarding the process, navigating the Utah laws and their road to where they are today and educating us about his Agave (Tequila) and Gin. The presentation was not rushed. The tasting room is brand new, small, but beautiful, clean and tastefully decorated - you know immediately you are in a distillery with the beautiful stills and barrels in the room behind the glass. My husband and I enjoy tequila, good tequila (no lime/salt needed to sip good tequila), which was the reason for our visit, but much to our surprise we also enjoyed the gin. We purchased two bottles (gorgeous, bar-display-worthy bottles!) of the tequila $30ea, a bottle of the gin $30ea and a bottle of their grapefruit tonic (goes nicely with the gin) and an Oomah T-shirt for my husband. The owner explained how to serve and not to serve the gin (we made the mistake of shaking it too long and the ice turned the flavor - which is exactly what he told us would happen). The tasting was about $4 each. BEST souvenirs EVER! We will be back next summer to try their newest batch of tequila and their vodka.

Yelp
Unpleasant and arrogant clerk. I used to like this place, but I won't be crossing their threshold again.

Yelp
New World Distillery is a much needed addition to the Eden, Utah food and beverage scene. New World recently opened (December 10th) their doors to the public, providing tours, a great little gift shop, Gin tastings, and some excellent customer service! My wife and I dropped by to pickup some Christmas gifts (we like to buy local). Their store has some great gift ideas - including their in-house distilled gin. I can't say I know much about gin, other than the occasional gin and tonic or martini I order, however, the owners changed that! The owners are fantastic. They both took the time to talk about how they ended up on Ogden Valley, the history of securing the proper licenses, and an interesting discussion on the ingredients that they distill with. They also turned us on to some other great Utah distilleries. I ended up purchasing a few bottles of gin as Christmas gifts. The owner took the time to gift bag each bottle, and provided gift tags as well. Class-act service for sure! I also walked away with a dragonfly t-shirt. The dragonfly provides the simple yet sophisticated logo for their gin. 2017 will bring added services such as tours, additional liquor options (Vodka and Mezcal), as well as an expanded gift shop.

Yelp
My friends and I had the distinct pleasure of visiting New World Distillery and sampling their wares. Chris and Ashley, the parents of this fine establishment, were penultimate hosts. Craft and artisanal have unfortunately have acquired a cache in America, so much so that when the appellation is attached to a beverage the perceived quality reflexively rises in concert with its price. Their divine distilled products: gin, agave spirits, and vodka, would make even a teetotaler imbibe their goods. To those of refined taste, the oomaw gin shamefully exposes Tanqueray as an ersatz product peddled by the likes of Diageo. Chris and Ashley define artisanal. An artisan makes a product to stand the test of time and whose quality is born against the harshest critic : the artisan himself. Chris' express purpose is to deliver the highest quality good; no cut corners; no bad batches; no mass produced swill to be drowned in high fructose corn syrup. I'll be buying now before the world discovers this gem and before agave is subject to protectionist import tarrifs.

Yelp
Chris was a great host. The gin, vodka, agave, and tart cherry were on the tasting menu and they were all delicious. The building is beautiful.

Yelp
Tried the vodka, gin, cherry, bourbon. All were good. The bourbon and the gin were outstanding. The place was very Covid safe. Nice guy at the counter great liquor. I highly recommend going there. Next time I'll try the tequila. Honestly it would have been easier to taker one of each and call it a day.

Yelp
This place is awesome! I love their gin and I just tried their tequila and it rocks! I will go back!

Yelp
We are in LOVE with this local distillery! Every spirit is delicious and unique--our favorite is the reposado but everything is worth a try. The spirits are made by a lovely couple who are passionate about their product and about the art of craft cocktails. They will give you great recipes and ideas (try the bitters they recommend with the reposado). Hopefully Covid will be behind us soon and they can resume tastings, which were always fun, inexpensive, and so informative. We always made time for one while in town! But even during Covid, the owners have been so careful and respectful that I have felt comfortable going in to stock up. Before we left for home after our last visit, we packed as many bottles as we could fit in our trunk! Don't miss this gem-it's easy to find via GPS or by following the sign with arrows at Eden's only four-way intersection.

Yelp
Great new distillery and service to boot! Met with Ashley and she was very friendly and helpful in helping us understand the nuances of their product and distillery itself. We tasted everything from gin to vodka to cherry liquor. The cherry liquor is fantastic!! We bought 3 bottles to take home with us (vodka, agave and cherry liquor). They're so good. Try it, you will not be disappointed.

Amanda S.

Yelp
This is my family's favorite place to go for liquor. Literally everything Chris has is amazing! My favorite is the Wasatch cherry liqueur. Put that in your margarita and zingggg!!! Chris is very knowledgeable and I highly recommend this place! Can't go wrong. 10/10

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and check out this little gem to pick up some handcrafted spirits for apres ski. The oomaw gin is unique, flavorful, and unlike any gin I've ever tasted. Makes a killer gin and tonic! Looking forward to trying the agave spirits on our next visit. Kudos to the owners for their obvious passion for their craft!!

I had the chance to visit New World Distillery when I was on a ski trip in Utah. If you are looking for a fun stop in Eden to kick off your apres ski, this is it!! I joined a tasting which was awesome. The owners are very knowledgeable and it shows in their products. The gin was unbelievable! It was also nice to see they are working to run the distillery with minimal impact on the environment. My entire experience was a pleasure, and I hope to visit again.

Yelp
Super fun and informative tour. The craft spirits are wonderful--subtle, creative, and inspired. A real gem in the Ogden Valley.
