Newbury Guest House

Stayed here for 3 nights as part of a New England tour. Perfectly located for sightseeing everywhere in Boston and also surrounded by of bars and eating places. Even so room was nice and quiet and bed very comfy. Bathroom adequate and you just have to be patient and work out the shower setting. Once understood its fine. Highly recommend this place. Staff very friendly and helpful

This was our first trip to Boston and we stayed 3 nights before heading to Cape Cod. |We had a basic room which was pretty small but did the job for us. The bed was really comfortable, the room was clean and the AC worked a treat. |Upon arrival we were welcomed warmly by the staff and when we needed the benefit of their knowledge of the area, they were very helpful. |The common areas were a little tired in places but overall, the accommodation met our needs well. |The guest house is in a fantastic location, an ideal base from which the city can be explored. |Would I stay here again? Absolutely.

The Newberry Guest house is a gem! The location is fabulous, as is the building and the staff. Our room was delightful with windows overlooking the street. The atmosphere was welcoming and charming. It was quiet overnight and we had a perfect night’s sleep. Mattress, pillows, and sheets were all comfortable! We will stay here next time we are in Boston!

Escaping the noise of New York and visiting Boston for the first time, our quest for a luxurious “home from home” whilst avoiding (alarmingly expensive!) “chain” hotels was more than met here. If you want pools, gyms, bar and / or 24 hour room service….look elsewhere. What is delivered here is great rooms in an original “brown house” in the best of locations and surrounded by no end of (walkable) fabulous restaurants, bars and patisseries. ALL of Brett and Mark’s breakfast / dinner recommendations were outstanding. Lovely, welcoming and helpful staff. An absolute gem and thoroughly recommended.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Newbury Guest House! This boutique hotel is perfectly located on Newbury Street—surrounded by beautiful brownstones, shops, and restaurants, all just steps from the front door. It truly felt like we were living like locals, not just visiting. We booked the King Bay/Nook Window room, and I highly recommend it—charming, spacious, and filled with natural light. After long days of exploring the city, we loved being able to unwind by shopping or hopping from restaurant to restaurant just outside the hotel. Being a mile from Boston Common and just 0.6 miles from Fenway Park made everything walkable. The hotel itself is quiet, cozy, and incredibly welcoming. With only around 30 rooms, it had a peaceful, almost residential feel. The lobby always had coffee and water available, and parking was surprisingly easy—with in/out privileges and a reasonable rate. This is hands-down one of our favorite places we’ve ever stayed. It felt like home, and we’ve already recommended it to all of our family and friends. We’ll definitely be back!

Wow, my friends made the plans and I tagged along. First time in Boston. Location could not have been better! An iconic Boston street full of brownstones and resteraunts! Hotel was wonderful, quiet and comfortable! Staff was incredible! Where do you find this kind of staff????||Highly recommend!

Our stay was excellent. My wife and I stayed her for our anniversary. The hotel is very clean and right in the center of a nice district in Boston. The staff was beyond exceptional. Anticipating and fulfilling all of our needs. Would recommend to anyone.
