could be a great little airport, but it isnt. Passenger safety is NOT a priority.The electronic security doors exiting the baggage reclaim area are
potentially dangerous to passengers. 9 Weeks Ago my Wife & myself were returning from holiday, when one of these doors slammed into her, severely bruising her down one side of her body (this required medical treatment) A subsequent formal letter of complaint sent to the terminal operations manager prompted only an acknowledgement, promising a full reply in due course. This never materialised, which probably graphically demonstrates the airport managements attitude to the safety of its service users.Unfortunately, I am committed to 2 further flights from Newcastle during this year, but following these, Newcastle airport will not be seeing my wife and myself as customers again, nor will they be getting any recommendations from me to friends, family, neighbours etc Next year and onwards, my bookings will be going to Manchester Airport, It will be worth the extra 1 Hour`s drive to use an airport where the service users are treated with respect in a safe environment.----Well done Newcastle, an absolutely textbook case of negative Customer Relations.
