"A gentle arc of golden sand, Newport Beach runs from Newport Head to Little Reef. One of Sydney’s Northern Beaches, it’s a relaxing spot for swimming or surfing on the way up to Palm Beach. Patrolled by lifeguards in summer, Newport Beach offers consistent surf for boardriders, especially at The Peak toward the north end. For swimming, head to the middle or southern half of the beach, or to the 164-foot-long Newport Rockpool at the south end." - Sophie Davies

Yelp
tl,dr: nice new pickleball area. Likes: + Fresh new pickleball center. 6 open-play, 2 private courts. + The pickleball courts are pristine and fresh. Lines clearly drawn. + Lots of fencing around each court, highly reducing ball-on interferences. + Water refill station right by the courts. Pretty big parking lot. The restroom is accessible inside the Community Center during their business hours. Non-likes: - Not a lot of people come here for pick-up pickleball games. You likely have to bring your own people. Others bring their own people for private play or coaching. If you're lucky, you might find nice people there who'll let you join in. - It's near the beach, so strong breezes should be no surprise to you. Despite the wind tarps layered all along the surrounding fence, gusts still definitely affect gameplay. The day I went, there was a boxing tournament inside the Community Center, so parking was PACKED. Struggled to find parking for 10 minutes. What's worse is the other side park prohibits parking there for pickleball players. However, I just got off the phone with an associate who said that this was actually a rare event, and that normally parking is pretty open.

Yelp
What a great option to learn sports and participate in new things as an adult. I recently signed up for the pickleball classes here and the instructors are fantastic!! Learning with people from the community who are all also beginners and it's simply a great program and facility. Would highly recommend you check out the offerings.

Yelp
Discovered this place after sending my child to summer camp. The one week camp hosted their session here from 9am to 4pm and it's just a large classroom. No playground available but 2 receptionists at front desk when you walk in. Plenty of parking, even with charging station outside.

Yelp
This past weekend I attended an event happening at the Newport Beach Community Center. It is a nice and well-kept facility but pretty small. The reason why I gave this location 2 stars due to the staff rejecting an entrance to a service dog that my mom had with her. My mom suffered from Mental Stress and not to long my mom came home from the hospital. She wanted to be with her family, but the Staff prohibit her from proceeding furthermore into the facility with her service dog. Also, they started to ask her about if the Service Dog had an ID?!?!?!?!?! I was seriously offended, wherever my mom went with her dog she was never asked for the dogs ID. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a federal law which requires businesses and organizations that serve the public to allow people with disabilities to bring their service animals into all areas of the facility where customers are normally allowed to go. The public place cannot require a person to "prove" that their dog is a service dog. According to the California Laws on Psychiatric Service Dogs and Emotional Support Animals Act. So, we had one of the family members leave the event in order to take her and the service dog home. This was not fair and so unprofessional, and I hope this wasn't race motivated. Cause if we it was, it would be really bad on their part and i would have to take Legal Actions, which i wish not to and i want an answer explaining to me why this was allowed. If i don't get responds with an explanation, then i would fill it was race related and will take Legal Actions. -Thanks

Yelp
Top-notch facility for classes and events! Came w our Doggie Fergall for a Tuesday evening training sesh and was impressed by the grandeur of space and friendliness of the front desk staff... Would definitely recommend visiting for a class here... We learned about this place through the Newport Navigator mag that circulated the city every quarter or so but hey also have classes listed on-line...

Yelp
It's a Great facility! The faculty & coaches are all professional & attentive. Myself & kids have taken a few classes with them and loved it! Great location, great staff, great place! Look into this for rentals for parties and events too.

Yelp
The Basketball class in nice and the coach is very active and energetic. The volleyball on Thursday at 4pm is such a turn off. The tall, thin coach is so lazy and all he does is standing there watching. I never know any sports can be taught just with the mouth. If you really want to learn volleyball, go somewhere else, at least the coach can still walk with the kids.

Yelp
This whole park and facility are amazing. I remember when they built it sometime ago and did not know what to expect. Great programs, great facility and nice location.

Yelp
I had a lovely event in the combined Willinger and Newport Coast rooms, with large round tables, and available kitchen adjacent. It was perfect and when dressed up with linens really looked wonderful. Staff, especially Mary and Michael were very helpful indeed and it's professionally run. Also had a lovely view and abundant parking. Definitely recommended!
