"You’d be hard-pressed to find a better view of Hamilton Harbour than the one at Newstead Belmont Hills, where the 60 one-, two-, and three-bedroom suites satisfy the Airbnb set with in-room kitchens, Jacuzzi tubs, and sleeper sofas. Though there’s no on-site beach, the resort’s shuttle can transport you to the nearest shoreline (about 10 minutes away), and a private water taxi is on hand to ferry guests to the restaurants and shops of Hamilton. Care to stay put? One visitor per room is gifted a complimentary round of golf on the property’s championship 18-hole course with your stay, the harbor-front infinity pool and club becomes one of Bermuda ’s top happy-hour scenes come sunset, and Beau Rivage, the island’s only French restaurant, is renowned for its Gallic specialties such as Provençal shrimp risotto and foie gras–stuffed beef Wellington."

Newstead Belmont Hills Golf Resort & Spa, Paget, Bermuda - Hotel Review | Condé Nast Traveler

"Start us off with an overview. Bermuda is home to a handful of boutique hotels where you’ll get a strong water view—without any beach or sand. On the shores of Hamilton Harbour, where boats routinely make way for dozens of islets and cays, Newstead Belmont Hills Golf Resort & Spa is one of them. If its wordy nomenclature is any indication, there’s a lot more going on at this uniquely modern hotel than meets the eye, so walk through the chic, glassed-in lobby, grab your complimentary Bermuda rum swizzle at the bar, and enjoy the view. What's the story behind it? This is one of a handful of Bermudian properties that was built in the last decade, and everything here still feels new. The hotel is also quite stylish, and its architects took great steps to preserve the very thing you’ve likely come here for: that stunning harbor view. Everything faces the water, including the sexy infinity pool, the avant-garde guest rooms, and the French restaurant, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If sea breezes are your thing, you’ve come to the right place. Tell us all about the accommodations. Rooms here are some of the most modern in Bermuda; for a real treat, though, book a suite. For starters, you’ll have a full kitchen with stainless-steel appliances and granite-topped counters, sisal rugs on hardwood floors, heavenly bathrooms with huge whirlpool tubs. All rooms—suites and non-suites alike—have private balconies. Is there a charge for Wi-Fi? There's complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. Are there any good restaurant and bar options on site? Sure, you can grab a meal in Hamilton by hopping aboard the resort’s complimentary ferry (which makes multiple runs to town daily), but you don’t have to. In addition to Zanzibar, a casual burger bar, Newstead also has Beau Rivage , a French-inspired restaurant where award-winning chef Jean Claude Garzia whips up Provençal-style favorites and continental classics. On the breezy outdoor patio, every table has a view of the water. And the service? Did we mention that free rum swizzle upon arrival? It’s just one of many perks. There’s also a complimentary airport shuttle, plus a free round of golf at the 6,100-yard ocean-view course. What type of travelers will you find here? Golfers eager to play a free round, families who enjoy the space of the suites, and couples who can’t get enough of that harbor view. What will we find nearby, if anything? Because Newstead is located on narrow Harbour Road, there’s little nearby within safe walking distance, so you’ll need to take a taxi or hop on a scooter to get anywhere (unless, of course, you’re headed to Hamilton, in which case you can jump on that aforementioned ferry). That includes Bermuda’s beaches—the closest is about 10 minutes away. Any other hotel features worth noting? With only four private treatment rooms, the spa that’s so prevalently in this hotel’s name is sadly pretty small. Still, its massages, facials, and holistic body treatments keep locals coming back again and again—so be sure to book well in advance. Golf is the other big draw here and Belmont is a beaut. Designed in 2002 by renowned golf architect Algie M. Pulley Jr., the course features 18 challenging holes, many with water views. Bottom line: Worth it? Why? Those seeking large rooms with a water view will be quite happy here, as will folks who want to spend part of their vacation on the links: The 18-hole course is among Bermuda’s best." - David LaHuta

This is my third trip staying at the Newstead and always delighted with the experience. We stay here during work stays and find the ferry ride across to Hamilton a highlight to the commute. The breakfast is good and the dinner menu is extensive with many great choices. This past trip we stayed in the Cottages which was a total surprise and a wonderful experience. We were directly on the water with corner open views that are spectacular. It is a great retreat.||||My only comment is the lack of electical sockets by the bedsides. Charging your phone overnight next to the bed was not an option which was disappointing.

Our third stay at this lovely hotel with beautiful grounds. We have looked at several other hotels, Air B&Bs etc but this can't be beaten for location and ease of exploring the whole island without hiring your own transport. Hotel free ferry shuttle to Hamilton is an excellent service, with Captain Matthew very helpful and knowledgeable. (Although would love it to run in the afternoon also). The free shuttle van to Coco Reef beach resort and Divots/Blu restaurants at the golf course is a great service with staff always very willing to transport visitors. These services are such a great bonus when choosing somewhere to stay. |The infinity pool is wonderful for wallowing in after a hot day exploring! |In the past there have been poor reviews about some front desk staff which we did partly agree with, however this year was completely different. All staff were very pleasant and helpful particularly Mae and Cherie.|Our rooms have been small apartments with a kitchenette which gives us the option of doing a little bit of self-catering, the Market Place supermarket has some very interesting self-serve offerings.|We would definitely recommend this hotel and will definitely be back!

Lovely relaxed hotel, not too big or small. Great pool and always enough loungers. Surprisingly the hotel was not too busy. The room was spacious with a small fridge and a wonderful view over the harbour. The complimentary hotel ferry to Hamilton and back is really useful, as is the hotel shuttle minibus to Coco Reef beach where there are sun loungers and umbrellas. We also ate a snack lunch there which was tasty.|From Hamilton, we travelled on ferries to Docklands and St George's, and the local bus to Crystal Caves, which were all different and worth visiting. |The restaurant food is pricy, as is all food and drinks in Bermuda. The room service was helpful for breakfast and the pool bar serves delicious light lunches all day. The pool was open from sunrise to sunset and lovely to dip into in the evening as well as the day.|The staff were all friendly, especially Matthew on the ferry and Patrice in the pool bar.|We will definitely return!

The best thing about this hotel is definitely the location. The easy access to Hamilton via the hotels ferry gives it the edge. The pool area was nice and quiet with a beautiful view of Hamilton. The ferry was on time and the captain was lovely and personable. I do wish they'd run the ferry back and forth for a few hours in the morning and evenings rather than just once every hour. I don't see why they would just do one trip across and back and then have it sit there for a full hour with a captain on board.||We stayed in a one bedroom suite which was very spacious and enjoyed the full kitchen. Try to ask for a room on the second or third floor as the main floor (on the same level as the lobby) has a wall instead of balcony bars and it's impossible to see the view if you sit down. They need bar height out outdoor furniture for these rooms. ||The biggest disappointment was the beach shuttle. It was often late when departing for the beach and one morning the lady at the front desk couldn't find the driver so we sat there for 20 minutes until he finally showed up. They advertise it as available every hour between 8 and 6pm on their website but in reality they only offer it every other hour. This means the pickup at 4pm from coco reef is often very crowded. Several days the shuttle driver also never showed up. Once we took a taxi and the other time we stood there for 35 minutes until it finally arrived. If you stay here, just factor in the 10-15$ taxi far to get to and from the beach at your convenience.

Just cannot speak too highly of this hotel and services. Third time here and funnily enough third different type of room despite booking the same each year through the agent. However, all have been superb. What can you say about paradise except to congratulate and thank the management and staff for such a wonderful stay. In previous years the staff on reception have been less than helpful but what a joy it was to meet Mae and also Kara? The grounds are immaculate and full of flowers in July and the guys always ready to have a chat.

We have not stayed at the Belmont for 35yrs. I was surprised how beautiful and large the one bedroom units with full kitchen were. The whole staff from housekeeping to the front desk where exceptional. We had to spend an extra 3 days because of the hurricane that hit the Island.( What a burden) LOL.The Belmont Golf course had a free shuttle from the hotel. Darren Swan worked the desk at the Pro-Shop was awesome. His Brother Kim Swan is a Bermuda golf legend who also teaches.

A brilliant location and hotel that allows you to enjoy Hamilton but still have a place of tranquility. The staff were brilliant - including the reception staff, the ferry boat operator ( fantastic tips on where to visit) and the driver to Coco Reef ( came and welfare checked us due to a sudden storm). As for the pool......
