Love this hotel. It really felt like a home away from home. No pressure, no hard sell just nice. Great staff whom are super helpful when you need it. Very thankful for the quick understanding of the checkin lady for breakfast. Our child couldn’t come to breakfast due to anxiety. She allowed us a tray to get her fed. Like I said like home! Room was perfect having two areas self contained for privacy. A great shower like a waterfall. Incredible views of the sea and up the hill from our balcony. All the lotions are top notch and ample. Fridge in the room, very big towels. Great controllable AC which was needed. I’d gladly return here.

Love this place! 5th time staying here. The location is perfect, right next to the city centre, which makes exploring so easy. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable, and the staff couldn’t have been nicer—always friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely delicious, with plenty of variety to suit everyone in the family. But the real highlight was the direct access to the sea—truly the best feature of the hotel and what made our stay extra special. A big thank you to Jessica at reception, who went above and beyond to accommodate all of our family’s requests with kindness and professionalism. She really made us feel welcome. We’ll definitely be returning and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at NEXT Hotel for our anniversary. The room was very modern, luxurious, and clean, and the staff were incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful. The staff even surprised us with champagne and rose petals for our anniversary! The location was also perfect for exploring Old Funchal. We would definitely go back and highly recommend them!

The entire experience was amazing. From check in, to check out. The facilities were clean and easy to navigate. The staff could not be more helpful and courteous!! The breakfast buffet was epic. Definitely try to make it to the sister hotel restaurants, foo and service was incredible. Three hour dinners that felt flew by. I can't wait to go back.

We had a great stay here in room 620. The breakfast was a good spread including protein shakes and mimosas, and the facilities were great. Note that ocean view rooms facing the street directly are affected by traffic noise however. The hotel’s identity is troubled. There is evidence of high spec construction but the neon lighting and endless hip hop music in the lobby posture towards adolescence.

Great spacious rooms (stayed at M building with sea view) with nice balcony; great location. Nice access to the sea and city center close by. Nice breakfast and helpful staff at breakfast. Service at reception was a real disappointment - sort of half-help, half indications on where to go and how to access M building. No welcome when entering hotel. Hospitality by reception could be significantly improved. The cleaning lady was very friendly and cheerful. The sound from the rooftop bar on the weekend was truly annoying; deep base sounds from around 16.00 in afternoon even on the sea side building, imagine on the main building itself. Apart from those things would definitely recommend this hotel.

3 stars, because this should be a 3* hotel. The location is really good, the pool area is large, but thats about it. Would totally accept it if the hotel was not branded as 4* with quite high prices. Breakfast: - scrambled eggs made from powder eggs; disgusting. - No fresh juices; only some processed options - terrible coffee from some 90's machine - same food every day, mostly options for english breakfast - tomato and cucumber were the only veg option Room: We booked 1 bedroom aparment (only available option at that time) You need to carefully read the room description, because upon arrival we learned that our room is on 4th floor with no lift! Some people have apartments on 6th floor! The apartments area is actually a completely seperate building with access by a dark, narrow staircase and back doors. No one will help you with luggage! Our room was very basic, there was no safe. The kitchennette's appliances were kicking out the power in the room. The pillows were very soft; first time have such uncomfortable pillows in hotel. Windows have a 'wall view' so there is no natural light coming in at any point during day. Overall, the hotel is ok, but its not worth the price.
