The 6 Best Hostels in Copenhagen in 2025

"Located next to the main railway station, Next House is super social with a lounge that hosts live music, a rooftop garden with killer views, a gym, a cinema, and a great self-service kitchen. There's an attached arena for dodgeball and other sports (20 DKK fee), an on-site restaurant offering all-you-can-eat pizza for 129 DKK and daily hostel dinners for 69 DKK (breakfast 68 DKK), and dorms use pod-style beds that give you plenty of privacy and comfort — though you may compete for bathroom access in some dorms. The hostel also offers self-check-in." - Matthew Kepnes

I enjoyed my stay at Next House! I stayed in a private room with a bathroom. It was very small, but that’s to be expected in Europe. For one or two people a private room is perfect. I had a nice view from my room and loved that the window opened. The rooms have an A/C unit which I found to be rare in Denmark. The bathroom included toiletries, a hair dryer and just enough towels. The common areas are nice. They have a water station where you can fill up your water bottle. I enjoyed the free walking tour and highly recommend anyone staying at Next House to participate in it. The hostel is close to the metro and a bus stop and there’s a grocery store close by. Some complain about the noise but I felt it was very quiet. I’d definitely stay here again!

Great friendly hostel in a great location. The staff were great and it was good to have your own bathroom in the dorm room. Loved the communal dinner that you could buy, both the beer and dinner are at good prices for this city. They have activities every day. The bed was comfy, would definitely come back and am happy to recommend.

Stay here! What a fantastic place; quirky, cool, creative and clean. We had a private double room which was tiny but lovely and clean, everything you need. It's so close to the train station and bus routes. Staff are lovely and the hostel vibe is amazing. Five bars and a great breakfast.

The best hostel I've ever been! Co-working space, a rooftop bar, a gym and much more. Staff is great. Rooms are very quiet and pod beds are so cozy! I loved this place so much, I'll definitely come back!

Room: clean, comfortable. Very small for 6 bed shared dorm. Toilets & Showers: private, clean. Towel included. Shared with 6 people. I didn’t see more outside the room in our floor. Lockers: they charge for storage before or after your stay but it’s a euro an hour. Laundry: about 6 euros for wash and dry Social Atmosphere: very good. Lots of very nice shared spaces, board games, books, Fittness classes, a soccer field (!), and guitar with a broken E string tuner. Location: 5 minute walk to central station from the train Overall: paid 26 euro for a weeknight. Very good value. Would return. I also stayed at Sleep in Heaven and Urban Generator. The room here is smaller than both, but everything else is better.

It is a hotel with dorms, not a proper hostel. They are trying to make money out of everything they can; they don't care about the guests, they won't arrange anything. The rooms are not just small : you don't have room for your luggage, the lockers are not big enough for a hand luggage, the bathroom is so tiny that it is obviously wet when someone takes a shower so don't forget to take off your socks if you need to pee !! The beds are so small but have no curtains so no privacy there, you just sleep in a kind of box for no reason.... ||||No point in staying there. The only good thing is the location that is amazingly convenient.

Good stay overall, but some small downsidesThe hostel was quiet and clean, with fast check-in. It’s also only about a 10-minute walk to the central station, which is really convenient. The shower room inside the bedroom was very small, and the bed in my 4-bed female dorm felt tiny — only about 2.5 ft wide, so it was a bit cramped. Luckily, there’s a larger shower room in the basement, which I mainly used instead.I liked that there were lots of activities to do in the hostel and a spacious common area to relax and meet other travelers. One thing to note: you have to pay extra to use the kitchen, which I didn’t expect.Overall, it’s a good option for a short stay if you don’t mind a small bed and want a social hostel close to the city.

The bed is very clean and the room design looks really modern. The shower room and toilet is inside the room which is really convenient. They are both really clean and they even offer shampoo inside the shower room. However, the bed is without fence as shown in the picture, so if you tends to move a lot during your sleep, you might need to aware of that and ask for a lower bed. Also, the stairs is really comfortable, but fairly slippery which needs extra attention. Otherwise, the location is perfect, really close to the central station and Tivoli Garten.
