The 6 Best Hostels in Copenhagen in 2025

"Located next to the main railway station, Next House is super social with a lounge that hosts live music, a rooftop garden with killer views, a gym, a cinema, and a great self-service kitchen. There's an attached arena for dodgeball and other sports (20 DKK fee), an on-site restaurant offering all-you-can-eat pizza for 129 DKK and daily hostel dinners for 69 DKK (breakfast 68 DKK), and dorms use pod-style beds that give you plenty of privacy and comfort — though you may compete for bathroom access in some dorms. The hostel also offers self-check-in." - Matthew Kepnes

Pros: The 4-people dorm is designd to have privacy (it's not your usual bunk beds, they're more like "capsules"). Comfortable bed, pillow and linens Great location, from the airport I took the 5C bus and was easy to walk around the city. It's a huge hostel, not your typical solo-traveller hostel vibe. There are a lot of families, big age range. Still, I like their effort into bringing people together through events (Saturday Dec 27th seemed like the only day off). Staff is really nice. The sink in my room was draining and they fixed it asap. I did the free Copenhagen Highlights Walking Tour with Politically Incorrect (recommended by them), and that was so fun that I ended booking the Beer Walking Tour on the same day. Had fun renting their bike The cons: I don't recommend using the pocket next to the bed as it is VERY dirty. The plug is on the ceiling so I recommend bringing a long enough phone cable. The bathroom door doesn't seal completly. Bring your own locker The room doesn't have a chair to sit down (putting boots on while being on the top bed is impossible).

This extremely large hostel is close to a bus stop and the central main train station. Though I requested a lower pod due to mobility issues, I was given bunk on the top level. Aside from that, the breakfast is an absolute great deal. Self-Check-In is available and very seamless. There are staff on site in case of any other issues. The only thing that I wish was available was an all-access pass to the gym and lockers instead of paying for each service separately. I wish I was able to use the gym because the weather outside was dark, gloomy and rainy. The lockers were very roomy and accessible. However, my locker had a small malfunction and was not able to open. Was able to alert the staff to help retrieve my luggage. I would definitely stay here again but maybe a more private room. But for the price it was a great deal.

This is may be the best hostel that I have ever stayed at. The activities the hostel hosts are a lot of fun and the hostel dinners are a great way to meet people and save money. The location is also pretty good, right next to the airport bus stop, ten minutes from the train station, and working five minutes of a grocery store. The place is very clean, rooms are small but comfortable, the bathrooms are great. Big plus providing soap and body wash! Lastly the amenities are honestly unbelievable. They have everything from a laundry room to a movie room. You could honestly live here and never need to leave! Disliked - It’s so good you may never want to leave! Don’t really have anything negative to say. Maybe having larger rooms with lockers and no fee for using the kitchen.

We stayed at Next House Copenhagen for one night before Christmas as a group of five and were very satisfied. The rooms are small but perfect for a short stay and very reasonably priced. The facilities and common areas are a big plus, with something for both adults and children. Check in and check out were very smooth, either self service or at reception, and the staff was genuinely helpful. There is no on site hotel parking, but it is easy to find paid parking nearby. The location is good and it is a very sensible option for a short stay in Copenhagen.

Talk about a great hostel! It’s huge, incredibly social, events happening every night! Staff at the main reception were incredible! Beds were comfortable, rooms were warm, showers were nice. The reason for the four star is because I don’t think you cater for vegetarians very well. At the hostel dinners I was rudely spoken to by one of the staff when I asked when my food would be ready. I waited 20 mins for a veggie patty after everyone had eaten and it made me so unwell the next morning. Now it’s only 10€ for the dinners but just a warning for veggies…. Bring your own food! But spend your money on the cheap beer they have !

I stayed here through New Year and am satisfied with the hostel. Provides a lot of cheap activites and food. Drinks rather be bought at groceries nearby. However, I wish the shower door to cover the gap more because after each shower the water was splashing out on the floor :( Or maybe a dry floor towel would be helpful.

The hostel looks great and has lots of facilities, but the rooms are really small and the storage space is limited. It can also be quite noisy, especially at night. The common areas are impressive, but sometimes too crowded. It’s still a good option for budget travelers, but be prepared for a busy atmosphere.

Tip-top hostel this. It was so close to being 5 stars, but a few things just made it fall short. In terms of the rooms, we had a 6 bed private room, very comfy, good shower, good bathroom, although the door was sorta tough to lock. However, the room got very hot, and the air conditioning wasn't remarkably effective. Also, the shower did have a slight pong of sewage. Oh, and as well, the beds have USB ports, but they came from the bed lights, which were directly over your head, so the cable hung down whilst you charged your phone overnight, just a bit of a design oversight. In terms of the service and entertainment, it's very good there, there is free foosball, and we managed to play free darts and shuffleboard too, although I'm not sure if we were meant to pay. The bar was pretty good, although the alcohol selection was fairly small, and the main one closed very early at like 11. Location wise, yeah, decent, a short walk from the station, bus stop outside, close to the main attractions, what's not to like? On the whole, a fun place to stay, we didn't hear much from other rooms whilst we were there, and downstairs had a good bustling but relaxed atmosphere that you'd want from a good ol' hostel. Top stuff.
