So nice crew and so considerate! As we are hurrying heading for a bus, the staff make all the conveniences for us! Thank you team, and I just wanna you know we successfully catch the bus and it’s a really really amazing trip!

A really nice boat ride across the lake to view the carvings. You can help yourself to tea, coffee, or hot chocolate, and a delicious warm muffin was served as a snack. A gluten free muffin was also available as they were notified that there were some of our party who required this option. Plenty of time was given at the carving site for those who wanted to take a photo. It was a bit chilly on the day we went out so make sure to layer up warm enough.

The boat (Chris Jolly) ride was smooth, and the scenery was beautiful. The skipper was awesome, and his confidence put everyone at ease. Totally recommend to all.

Beautiful carvings, was great to see and experience. Went on the Ernest Kemp boat tour, they provided tea and coffee and biscuits as well as other drinks for purchase (alcoholic). Toilets on board and you’re able to sit inside or outside. It does get a bit windy and wet so wear clothes that will keep you dry and warm if you’re sitting outside. It’s not so much as a cave as you don’t go in or see inside the cave. You see the main Māori face carving and a few other smaller carvings. Worth the visit but there is only the one wall of carvings. The trip was worth it for the ride on the lake to see the lake and the hills/mountains and houses. Also enjoying a day out in the sun and fresh air. Well worth going and looking at which different companies can take you to the carvings. You can also swim in the water nearby. I would suggest looking into various companies and/or bring a boat yourself (if you have a boat licence) well worth going to see and having a swim in the waters (where safe)

To the catamaran ride there. Water gets a little choppy and it gets cold. Also, the sun is going to burn so get a coat and put on sun block... I know, weird right. The crew provide blankets and there are bean bag cushions to rest on the deck. When the waves work up you may get sprays so be prepared. The views are great and the carved rocks at the far end of the cruise beautiful.
