Went here for comfort food and more soft toys for me! We went to the mofmo paper market area near mamason. Go there! I love the cuttlefish ink pasta

Ngee Ann City has always been one of my favourite malls along Orchard Road. I like that it has a good mix of luxury brands, mid-range shops, and plenty of dining choices. The mall’s anchor, Takashimaya, is a highlight on its own — you can easily spend hours browsing the different departments. I also enjoy visiting the Kinokuniya bookstore, which is one of the largest and best-stocked in Singapore. When it comes to food, there’s something for everyone — from the busy food court in the basement of Takashimaya to many restaurants serving Japanese, Chinese, Thai, and Western dishes.

If you have time for only one place, go to the department store Takashimaya. I've found an amazing mala xiangguo stall at the B2 food court in the store.Their chicken collagen broth is absolutely incredible—highly recommended!

Ngee Ann City sits right in the middle of Orchard Road, and there’s always something happening outside with festive events and activities. If you love shopping, this is a must-visit spot for clothes, perfumes, cosmetics, and plenty of food. Also, don’t miss Best Denki inside — one of the top spots to check out Wacom products from my reseller.

Visited Orchard Road during the Christmas season and it was magical. The beautifully lit streets, creative decorations, and lively festive energy make the whole area feel special. Perfect for evening strolls, shopping, and soaking in the Christmas spirit.

Good place for shopping provided you are not driving on certain days. Management is terrible. Stuck in the car park for an hour in the car park and not being able to get out. Traffic control is bad but yet still charging all these cars for parking charges of which is not cheap. The video is a 100m+ line just to get to the electronic gantry on the 7th floor

Ngee Ann City is a huge massive shopping complex which houses many retail/dining outlets and offices in their towers. Opening its door in 1993, there are 7 floors of over 110,00 square feet of shopping and dining outlets. I remember once upon a time, the Japanese Kinokuniya has a few levels. Now there is only one floor. I guess this is the demise of book stores everywhere in this era, nobody really buys physical books from stores anymore :( The major anchor tenant in this mall will be Takashimaya department store. A lot of people mistakenly think Takashimaya is the whole complex. Hate to inform, it is just the anchor tenant inside Ngee Ann City. This mall also houses many designer or high end stores like Chanel, Louis Vuitton and two floors of Tiffany. It also has other more budget friendly stores like Zara, Club Monaco, or G2000 as well. One can find many dining options from Japanese to Western to Chinese within the complex. For anyone on a budget, one can always check out the food court located at B2 of Takashimaya department store. I do like the chicken rice there. Also, do get those yummy egg tarts from Tai Cheong Bakery located in B2 near the entrance. I like the variety of stores inside this complex. The Watsons here is one of the largest. The grocery store also located in B2 is Cold Storage. I am not a big Cold Storage fan, I like my grocery at Isetan better. The event hall at B2 periodically has events like food fare or toys fair. Actually I don't go to many of the stores here, I just like to pick up a few food items at the basement level. There is also a semi-circle area in front of the massive complex called Civic Plaza which has been a venue for many special events.

I remember Ngee Ann City for a couple of things - the expensive boutiques of all the big name brands, the basement food bazaar, the Chinese New Year/ Mid Autumn Festival food fair also in the basement, and California fitness on the 8th floor. The basement food bazaar has stalls selling lots of different food, from takoyaki and okonomiyaki to herbal tea and gelato. The CNY/ MAF food fair is also awesome. Take a walk through the fair and sample everything, you'd probably be full after that! And of course, the gym is the best place to hit to burn off those calories after you've gorged yourself :P With the new shopping malls like Ion, I've stopped shopping at Ngee Ann City and purely come here only for gym and food.

Ngee Ann City is one of our older modern shopping malls these days - while neighbours Paragon, Mandarin Gallery and Knightsbridge for a lift and new look, Ngee Ann City still maintains a certain nostalgic charm, especially for me where I used to sit around the B2 square after school all the time. The food court is pretty but pricey, and I always enjoy walking around their main food hall though I can't often afford to buy the pricier snacks. The department store is quite comprehensive though the fashion is skewed a little bit older and less hipster so you don't generally get that sort in here. For parking you can either choose to head upwards (5th storey and onwards) or down into B3, depending on your destination within Ngee Ann City.

Ngee Ann City is a lovely place to do some window shopping because of its luxurious appeal. Sometimes when you know you have some extra cash, you might leave the mall with some trinket in tow. I go to Ngee Ann for my art needs at Art Friend and maybe some shopping at Takashimaya. For me, it's never a dull moment being here because there's definitely alot to see. I get to be updated with the latest trends and their prices. If I'm lucky, encounter a great deal. Even on a weekend, there isn't a lot of people who frequent here so it's not as crowded and overwhelming. When in Ngee Ann City, just be aware of the corridors and pathways, sometimes looking at them makes you feel lost.

Gosh where do you start when reviewing somewhere you've been frequenting since you were 13 years old. Taka, as it's affectionately known by most, is, and was, and will probably be for a long time to come, one of the centres of Orchard Road. Takashimaya still has their staff line up and opening and closing to welcome and wish shoppers goodbye, the food-lovers basement is still amongst the best in Orchard Road, and they have a kick-ass Cold Storage with a great range of Japanese items. Yet, as awesome as it is now... I think back to the Library@Orchard fondly, where you could go and read for hours, and still feel like you were out doing stuff because it's in town. Actually, there's a sad nostalgia about that library, where many a day was spent just reading with good company. Taka's Mos burger was the first time I ever tried Mos... and the same with the Yoshinoya. It was my go-to place when I had an Auntie Anne's craze, and also for Tori-Q. I don't think I ever realised how much of my teenage life happened IN Taka till I started writing this review, and I'm going to bump this to 5 stars (I originally started off with 4) just for longevity. How many other malls have stayed "this happening" for this long? I'm glad my friend's push for us to call it "NAC" (pronounced knack) never caught on. It's nowhere as charming as "Taka".

It's old and parts of it are kind of weird (like the basement area with all the weird mega-sales... I never understood those) but I have a soft spot in my heart for Ngee Ann City/Takashimaya. The department store itself is like a throwback... where uncles will actually help you try on shoes with useful advice! And the mall has some definite highlights. Like Singapore's biggest Kinokuniya and an Aesop boutique. I am not, however, a fan of Paul bakery.

Ngee Ann City was one of the first shopping centers to house so many luxury brands! there's so much to buy and look at here. Takashimaya is located here, so there's a large array of Japanese goods you can purchase here. The selection of food at their food court is run by Takashimaya, and I love their food variety - since its not your standard Koufu, Food republic and Food junction experience. They also have a large Kinokuniya, a whole range of Crystal Jade concepts and your usual Mango, Zara and high street brands.
