Ngon is very cool, in the heart of the city it’s a pretty busy place so maybe a reservation might be best.
We arrived just looking for a table for 3 and waited a short while (no more than 5 minutes) before being guided to our table.
It’s a big restaurant, stunning decor, family friendly with a very relaxed atmosphere.
The menu is extensive, there is plenty to choose from, it’s not all traditional dishes, there a western mix too.
I can’t remember the dish I ordered but it was a seafood salad, being it was still early lunch time.
The prices seemed fair, I guess, it took a little while to arrive (but it was busy) but I have to say I had more salad than seafood and was slightly disgruntled that the balance wasn’t quite there. That’s when I started to question the price. Did I just pay 100k for a lot of cucumber? 🤣
Anyway, delicious as it was I was totally blown away by the decor.
The walls are a deep, sensual red, making it ideal for a hot date, the lighting and garden, pond area are just visually breathtaking and really set the tone.
I saw many families, a few couples and just groups of friends hanging out so this restaurant really caters for everyone.
The staff were attentive and polite and brought out the baby seat for the little one, so we were made to feel comfortable and were never made to feel ignored or forced to holler for anything we needed.
A good experience overall, and a happy tummy if not a very appreciative wallet.
But you can’t have it all eh!
