Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge

I had a very luxurious stay and a perfect one indeed. Emmy was so kind and was always there to listen to us. If you have never tried the view please. All the staff were warm to.To be honest I enjoyed the view as well as the place a very excellent place

Quiet lodge with spacious rooms each with a porch allowing you to enjoy the views of the tropical forest and frequently grazing water bucks (sorry no crater views here). Each room has a stove & fuel and they will bring coals for you if you are cool. Electricity is limited with outlets only working 6-9a and 6-9p and wifi only in the dining hall. The dining hall is the nicest feature with many windows and a big fireplace. Food is decent with limited evening menus (typical lodge fare) and generally included with the room. No complaints.

Rhino Lodge promotes itself as authentic and rustic and that's exactly what it is. The accommodation is simple but all you need given the small amount of time you spend in it. The room verandahs are real sun traps and a great place to watch the sun go down with water buck grazing right in front of you. The restaurant had a real buzz about it and the food is simple but hearty. This was the one lodge we stayed in where our guide ate with us so we enjoyed lots of discussions about his Maasai origins, culture and life in Tanzania. It's very close to the Ngorongoro park entrance so accessing the crater was easy. Oh and they do the best pancakes at breakfast!

It can get very cold at night, but dinner was good. Lunches could use some improvement. The accommodation was cozy, lodge-style with a lovely balcony view. Breakfast was also enjoyable and well-prepared. The staff are super friendly and helpful and wifi is offered in the restaurant area.

We stayed here for one night after viewing the crater , it’s way up there and can definitely get a bit chilly at times , that said sitting out on the balcony with a beautiful view is difficult to beat!! |Animals do regularly visit and we had some buffalo arrive just after dinner , they come right up to the rooms and balcony area |Rooms are small and cozy and the shower was fine , there is a fireplace in the room which they light each night |Food was buffet style and had a good selection for both dinner and breakfast |Staff were friendly and helpful |Great place to stay as a base for visiting the crater

We had a fantastic stay at this lodge.The location was beautiful, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the food was excellent. The staff were friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of. Whether relaxing or enjoying activities, everything was seamless. Highly recommend.

Rhino Lodge was super welcoming and cozy !! Located perfectly and food was great. Staff was so nice and helpful aswell!! The kind staff helped us with our suitcases and any problems we had. They provided hot showers and a fire since it is in high up in the mountain. Loved it!

Such a cozy lodging option at the top of the Ngorongoro Crater. Rooms were roomy and the porch off each room was really nice to have to just relax. Food was amazing! Staff was all very friendly. And after 5 days of safari in other locations, the showers were HOT and it was amazing.
