I was a little hesitant from the reviews to use Niagara Air Bus and actually tried to reserve a cab through another company first. When the cab company was unresponsive, I decided to book Niagara Air Bus a few days before my husband and I's trip to Niagara Falls Ontario.
We booked a round trip online to receive the discount. The booking process was very simple and we received confirmation via email instantly. When booking, you select your times in military time, but it does convert it before you check out so you can double check you chose the right times.
We flew into BUF airport the Friday morning of Labor Day weekend. Upon arrival we followed the signs to baggage claim. The Niagara Air Bus stand is at the bottom of the escalator near baggage claim (even though the email print out says it's at the top of the escalator). They share a stand with the Buffalo Airport Taxi service. Our driver was at the stand when we arrived. He checked that we were on his list and directed us to where we could sit and wait until it was time to leave. There was one other couple we were waiting on. We waited about 15 minutes. When the driver confirmed their plane had been delayed and they would require a later shuttle we left.
The driver was very friendly. He loaded our bags to the back of the shuttle, confirmed we had our passports, and informed us on the process when we would get to the border. The border crossing was very fast due to it being just us on the shuttle, very little traffic, and that the shuttle uses the bus lane at the border. There was little to no traffic the entire way there and we made it to the Marriot Fallsview hotel in about 45min. The ride was smooth and the driver even told us about a few points of interest as we passed. He dropped us off in front of our hotel and unloaded our bags.
We left on Labor Day in the late afternoon. The shuttle was right on time out front of our hotel. Again, he loaded in our bags, checked we were on his list, confirmed we had our passports, and informed us of the border crossing procedure. There was one other family of 3 on the shuttle with us for the ride back. We took the Rainbow bridge this time to get back to BUF airport. There was a little traffic at the border this time, but not much. We got to the airport in about an hour and were dropped off right in front of our airline.
It was a great experience and we are so happy that we booked Niagara Air Bus instead of a taxi or renting a car. The shuttles are not fancy, but the air conditioning worked fine and they were clean and comfortable. The drivers were friendly and professional, and you could hear on their radios that they were in constant communication to avoid traffic and update routes if needed.
The minus 1 star is for the price. With the discount and round trip it is very close to what a taxi with tip would be, however it is a shared ride and I had expected it to be a little cheaper. Despite the cost, we will for sure use again if we ever travel back to Niagara because of our good experience.
