Absolutely lovely little museum. Has a great small event space. 10/10 would recomend small weddings there. The Staff we're lovely with me and my family for my small wedding. Was able to enjoy the museum as well the day prior. Great places for photos so many nice spots even a little outdoor garden.

Very inexpensive but VERY educational. Three exhibits, one about refugees, one about the War of 1812, and one about Niagara Falls area specifically. Take time to read and think about everything and you'll learn a lot of really interesting things. Also, if you visit during the weekend, parking is free!

We visited the Niagara Falls history museum during one of its free Thursday evening admissions (5PM - 9PM). Although the gift shop was definitely closed during that late hour, we were still greeter by staff at the counter and got to tour all 2 floors of the museum. It's small, but provides a lot of insight and history beyond just the falls itself, and it's tourism; Going as far back to the war between Americans and British in the 1800's. The top floor is al history, while the first floor is like a gallery with many artworks and decorative pieces themed around the Niagara falls. The museum is an easy 10-30 minute exploration, and worth visiting if you're visiting the Niagara area. A hidden gem in the tourist city!

I held my gender reveal here at the Theatre and was very happy. Tables, chairs and white linens were available, the room was otherwise fairly bare/neutral which made for a great canvas. Johnathan was very prompt to reply, kind enough to meet with us and show the space. It is in a convenient location with ample parking (paid, weekends free) and the theatre itself is a nice bright space with natural lighting, close to an exterior exit and washroom. The staff were all very nice and though I have always loved the museum, I will recommend them for functions too!

What a wonderful museum at a very reasonable price. We learned a lot about the history of Niagara and the War of 1812. The special exhibit on refugees was powerful and moving. A great place to visit

Nice little museum! The 1812 exhibit is really well done, with some very interesting artifacts. An interactive timeline would have been helpful, but we'll put together never the less. The 2nd floor covers off a history of the region, and a nice war exhibit too. The gallery was closed to the public because of a private group, a little annoying. Maybe call before hand to make sure you can access all of the museum.

Here's an edited version of your Google review: Stepping into the Niagara Falls History Museum felt like stepping back in time! The friendly staff gave us a nice welcomed, and I was instantly captivated by the three fascinating exhibitions. The one that truly stole the show was the journey through the history of Niagara Falls itself - amazing! While the 1950s fashion exhibit had some dazzling pieces, I felt the display could have used a bit more pizzazz. Perhaps a touch of vintage flair in the presentation would have elevated the experience. Overall, a captivating visit that left me wanting to delve even deeper into the rich history of this incredible region.

Google
Finally a serious museum and not that touristtraps from downtown. Expect history here! Very interesting. You can also watch a 45min movie. Very friendly stuff. Admission only 6 Dollar. Nice giftshop too! Worth a visit!

Yelp
I would definitely skip this museum! I was expecting a lot more from this museum considering the name. It could have had more about the history of the falls, it's significance to the residents, more indigenous history, some underground railroad history, maybe some scientific facts about the falls. They had a random tattoo exhibit. They went into a war that I didn't even know happened so I did learn something but I was disappointed. The highlight was the gift shop. They have awesome soaps, magnets and eclipse watching glasses. The bug artwork and taxidermy dog were creepy but cool. If you are a local I would come to support. If you're visiting don't bother. Hate to be hard on a museum but this was disappointing! Staff was friendly as usual.

Yelp
It is a nice and has interesting exhibitions. Me, my wife and the kids enjoyed so much the 1812 section which was designed in a great way where you can enjoy a short video showing recreated scenes. Also it was amazing to put on the replica uniform from the War of 1812 and carrying a riffle.. The kids enjoyed it the most. In the 2nd floor there are another exhibition that will get you immersed in the history of the iconic City of Niagara Falls. We enjoyed the most three interactive stations in this gallery that allow us to touch mother nature, span the gorge and become a daredevil. There are 4 places to park infront of the museum on the main street. And I think there is parking lot on the back ( we didn't try that as we parked infront of the museum ). There is a gift shop where you can buy souvenirs. The visit may take around one hour.

Yelp
A very fun date night idea. On Thursday's they do free admission into the museum. I felt that I learned so much from the different exhibits. The guy working the front was super friendly! Highly recommend

Yelp
Everywhere we travel, we try to find a museum to contact with the history. The Niagara Falls History Museum was where we hoped to find some history and we did. Unlike New York museums, the NFHM is small in size but full of Canadian history. The museum has only three galleries. The fist holds The Pieces of Canada, 150 objects, 150 stories was lovely. They provide you a book with a small bio on each object. The second holds an exhibit of the War of 1812. You're even allowed to try on jackets and finally the last exhibit is about Niagara Falls. The fee is $5 and the experience was great. Would highly recommend.

Yelp
You could miss it if you weren't looking for it. It was a very interesting museum that we might have never seen, were it not for the treacherous freezing rain that day. Friendly staff, interesting facts, and pleasant museum layout. Very inexpensive entrance fee.

Yelp
Pros: - Great hands-on aspects: from the 1812 soldier gear to walking the "tightrope" across the falls, there's creativity that keeps the interest of adults and young kids. - Great displays: the 1812 displays were beautifully done, with lots of interesting facts, accompanying video, and neat relics. There was also a terrific traveling exhibit on counterfeit materials that was very fascinating and fun to do. - Quite kid-friendly: there was a scavenger hunt that my 5-year old did and he was quite into it. He also liked the 1812 displays (boys...) Cons: - Not a full-day event: Although the displays and exhibits are great, you could be done in 1-2 hours. Overall: If you're looking for a good side trip in the Niagara Falls area, the historical museum will certainly be worth it.

Yelp
Great little museum Worth checking out, lots of local history. But the best part is the warm friendly staff. They make you feel right at home! Definitely going to make it a regular stop on my many visits to the Falls

Yelp
Great way to spend a few hours while visiting Niagara Falls. Helpful fun staff. The scavenger hunt was fun. Take the Red line bus.

Yelp
Friendly staff and educational about 1812 war, history of Niagara Falls along with a new art exhibit about water and raising the awareness of dirty water in the world. Only $5 CAD for adults. Worth the money for sure!
