🇲🇿 My Personal Travel Review of Mozambique (Worst Experience)
As a regular traveller / travel vlogger, this was one of my most disappointing trips.
1. Corruption everywhere – from airport to street
From the moment I landed, corruption was visible.
Small officers asking for “extra fees”, unnecessary questioning, and trying to make tourists pay for things that should be free.
It felt like every step someone was waiting to take money.
2. Safety concerns – not comfortable at all
I travel to many countries, but Mozambique gave me one of the most unsafe feelings.
People keep warning “be careful”, “don’t go there”, “don’t use that road”.
Even locals tell you to avoid carrying your phone outside.
3. Tourism potential wasted
The country has beautiful beaches and friendly people, but corruption and poor management completely spoil the experience.
You can clearly see the huge difference between natural beauty and the system that runs the country.
4. Poor infrastructure & service
Roads are damaged, public transport is messy, and basic facilities are not tourist-friendly.
Hotels and restaurants overcharge foreigners.
Things that should be simple become stressful.
5. Government issues visible everywhere
Even without reading news, you can feel:
lack of planning
mismanagement
careless attitude
A traveller should feel welcome, but here it feels like no one cares.
6. Expensive for no reason
Compared to value, many services are overpriced.
You pay more because you are a foreigner, and bargaining becomes tiring.
