Nibelungenhof

Bastian was very helpful with the booking process, I was coming over to visit my son who is involved in renovating their family house. So I needed a hotel.|I was also looking at hotels to stay in for my family next year as well as other guests for the big wedding!|Unfortunately I found The Nibelungenhof surprisingly unfriendly other than Bastian. There was an older gentleman behind the desk who definitely did not give any vibes of ‘welcome to Tulln and our hotel’ it was more of ‘I am doing you a favour by letting you stay in my hotel’!!|Another younger person came running after me as I hadn’t stayed fo breakfast, very rude.|I did look in the breakfast room one morning and it did look nice. I don’t know if it would have been worth the money as each day I was being picked up by my son to go out somewhere.|I must say that the shower although gave a nice clean was potentially very dangerous in that is was slippery and not much room to move around without falling!!|I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.|They need to update it…quirky can be a hazard.

We spent one night here on our cycle from Passau to Budapest. This hotel is right in the river front on the cycle path. The staff were lovely and spoke very good English which made it easier for us. We enjoyed sitting outside for our breakfast. Our room was downstairs and a little airless. Maybe we should have paid the extra 20 euros for a river view room?? Regardless of that the room was comfortable. The gardens along the river were gorgeous. Lots of places to relax along the river and enjoy the balmy evenings. There is a lockable space to secure put the bicycles over night.

We were extremely happy with our stay here - the staff were warm and welcoming and even though we were a bit early accommodated our bikes and luggage while we had a look around Tulln . The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of good quality options available and hot and cold beverages. One of our travelling party cannot have cows milk so they went out of their way to purchase oat milk for her so she could have an oat milk latte Macchiato with her breakfast - so kind and thoughtful. None of the other places we have stayed at in Austria were willing to offer this. In our opinion this is a great place to stay. The rooms, food, location and staff are wonderful. My friends and I enjoyed two nights at the Hotel Nibelungenhof on our way biking both ways between Vienna and Melk. The locations is excellent: right along the Danube and overlooking the Tulln gardens. Rooms are nicely decorated with Victorian era furniture, but bathrooms are completely modern (some even with tubs!). There is secure bike parking. Breakfast was excellent and the proprietors and all their staff could not have been nicer. Would definitely recommend!

Wonderful family run hotel with amazing breakfast, stunning rooms and very friendly staff. Coffee at breakfast is the best I have had in Austria. We will definitely come back and spend more time in this precious hotel. Thank you very much! Keep up the great work

Good place. The rooms are nice and very clean, with a refined style. The breakfast is wonderful and varied. Although the checked in is until 8pm, the owner was kind enough to wait for us until 2:30am as we were driving and there was a terrible traffic jam at the borders! I highly recommend!

For us, the rooms are a bit old fashioned, but the staff is awesome and far the best breakfast in Austria after 3 nights in various 4 and 5 stars hotels. They serve real coffee along with the breakfast. Good quality, real coffee not some rubbish unfit to drink. You know, it’s sad to praise a place for serving real, high quality coffee for breakfast. But that’s where we are now...

It is in the process of being renovated does leave a little to be desired. The bedroom faced the river, which was nice but with the creaky wooden floorboards, an old fashioned wardrobe that was musky and small double bed soon brought home the reality that this hotel was not the Ritz. However, we found the staff pleasant and helpful and the breakfast was lovely. This is a basic hotel and as long as you remember that your stay will be fine.
