The South of France Has a New Luxury Hotel — With Panoramic Views of the Mediterranean Sea and Southern Alps

"Visible from the hotel rooftop where the runway appears to jut into the sea, this busy coastal airport is France’s second-busiest after Paris’s combined hubs and handled over 6.5 million passengers in 2021, resulting in frequent incoming and outgoing air traffic that is a defining feature of the city’s seaside skyline." - Chrissie McClatchie Chrissie McClatchie Chrissie McClatchie writes about travel, wine, and yachting from her home on the Côte d’Azur, where she has lived for nearly two decades. Nice Airport = NICE ♡ Terminal 1 Small + functional Everything on one level. • Bus terminal ~ Right outside the airport. You can plan trips to other European cities. Bus to Monaco also departs here. I took FlixBus from Paris to Nice Airport. • Info counter was very helpful. When you exit the airport, follow sign 12+ (pink) to the bus stop. Ticket machines are right there. Tram is another easy option. • From airport to city centre by bus ~ only €7 daypass. Explore until you exhausted. I went to Monaco from the city with bus no.600, €2.50 paid in coins directly to the bus driver. By card also can. • Luggage storage @ Centre de Services. Next to the entrance/exit. Reasonable price. I stored my bag 9 hours = €17. • Toilets : Clean + Water refill near toilet on level -1. "On ne revient jamais identique" Merci 🇫🇷

Google
I’m reviewing here terminal2 departure and duty free. I think it’s a very good, quite and organized airport in comparison to lot of small airports. The duty free is over priced but it has a good variety of food and products. The staff at the security are very polite but unlike many airports in Europe, they still have issues with water bottles a d liquids on flights. Seats are comfortable and toilets are everywhere with a place to fill the water.

Google
A fairly small airport with convenient access between Terminals 1 and 2 via a tram. It’s also easy to reach the city from here. Just make sure to purchase a valid ticket before boarding, as fines for fare evasion can be quite steep.

Google
Amazing airport, it’s vary big. Great organisation and many gates. Many shops and restaurants in T1 and T2 both. I love the app of the airport, it’s really helpful! Amazing!

Google
A small airport, we took Paris to Nice flight, landed here. The exit was very quick and fast. The taxi pickup area is a little confusing with multiple lifts and floors. Otherwise it is well managed overall. We also left from Nice, had an early morning flight, the shops/stalls were majorly not even open. The airport felt very deserted.

Google
Quick, efficient, friendly and accommodating. Straight forward boarding and disembarkation processes with supportive staff throughout.

This is relation to the team working once you scan your boarding pass and start the queue to have your cabin bags checked. Everyone else has been really nice and helpful. However the manager and his team were appalling to me today. I have recently undergone surgery and am travelling alone with my child, I have both the NHS letter on my phone as well as a translated letter. Unfortunately, I was told I cannot have anything to identify the staff member by- no badge number, name, nothing- so I will describe her; black lady, around 5ft, with extension braids, wearing glasses- she refused any eye contact, did not look up once, there was no attempt to understand what I was explaining, look at the letter and the only reason she took any notice was because she thought I was trying to record her when in fact I wanted a picture of her badge for this complaint. She called over two other female staff members, one was definitely trying and I appreciate her. The other women, heavily made up- shouted at me repeatedly in French. I felt humiliated and frightened they would stop me returning home. After such a lovely trip and exceptional hospitality throughout, I’m so incredibly disappointed with what I have just experienced with the team there. I will be complaining formally once home but wanted to post this immediately as a time stamp since they refused to give anything that I could use to identify them to the airport complaints team. In a world where we are recognising more and more that all disabilities and challenges are not visible- I cannot believe this is how airport staff behaved today.

🌞 Exploring the Best of Nice, Côte d’Azur 🇫🇷 What an incredible stop along the French Riviera! From the sun-drenched Promenade des Anglais to the vibrant old town and stunning sea views, Nice is a must-see. We walked nearly 23,000 steps discovering every corner—day and night—and the energy, beauty, and charm never let up. ✨ If you're thinking about the Côte d’Azur, Nice should be at the top of your list. Great food, gorgeous views, and a perfect mix of beach life and city vibe. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommend

Yelp
This airport is way easier to navigate and smaller compared to other airports. Staff are nice and friendly. Line for security can be long, but it moves fast. No need to take shoes off. There are a lot of stores that you can shop. There are the usual luxury stores like Hermes, Cartier, Dior and many other ones. There is also Ladurée booth, in case you want to purchase pastries or macarons on the go. There are small stores selling souvenirs, drinks, and snacks. The prices were reasonable. They weren't sky high like other airports. Overall, it was a great experience flying in and flying out of this airport. P.S heads up this airport tends to change gate numbers. Therefore, I would recommend allot enough time to get to your gate, in case it gets changed last minute.

Yelp
Decent airport, just choose meal wisely and early or suffer the fate of gas station sandwich.
google avatar

David W.

Yelp
They charge tourist almost 3x to ride the tram! Don't fall for the scam. Either download the app in advance or take the free transfer to outside the airport and buy a regular ticket at an outside station. So ridiculous they treat tourists like this!

Yelp
Nice airport, it gave us vacation vibes as soon as the plane landed. Splendid views during landing as the army way is right next to the Mediterranean sea. They have a separate special immigration lane for families which was much appreciated, after a 15 hour journey with a toddler. There are some cool food stalls that serve beer and snacks right outside the airport. We had some trouble finding rideshare/Uber pickup area as the signs for it were not very clear and ended up with our driver canceling the ride. The Ubers actually park very far away, two street across from the taxi dropoff and there's no way to determine where the driver is unless you walk through the parking with luggage in tow. This was a little difficult but we finally managed to find our next ride.

Yelp
Pretty standard airport. Quick to get in and out. More regional. The lounge was decent. Had good tea. Limited food options. Gates small, average seating.
google avatar

Evan Y.

Yelp
A decent airport that's surrounded by multiple hotels through walking distance. This hotel is full of vocational vibes. Public transportations are easy accessed but it's difficult to ask a taxi to airport hotels due to the short distances, meaning having heavy bags might cause visitors to access an airport hotel. Signs translations are awkward.

Yelp
This is the review for the Terminal 1 for Nice Côte d'Azur Airport - but it is not Terminal 1 specific, hence sharing it here as well. Unlike restaurants, when it comes to the airports, we typically don't have a choice. I don't like Nice airport, but if I need to travel to Nice, I don't really have a choice. I find this airport dated and uncomfortable, with a poor signage and compete lack of comfortable sitting. A few comments that might be helpful for the travelers: There is a train that goes between terminals 1 and 2. The direction is not clearly marked, so you might want to ask someone, but train is the easiest way to travel between the terminals (you can also walk - it is about 15 minutes walk). There are plenty easily accessible hotels next to the terminal 1 - Sheraton, Novotel, etc. The hotels are 5-7 minutes walk from the terminal 1, no need to wait for a shuttle. If you are renting the car: The rental car center is located in the terminal 2. If you arrive to terminal 1, don't look for a shuttle, just take the train. When you will be returning the car, look for the signs for gas station as you will enter the airport. Then it is easy to reach the rental car center as you will leave the gas station.

Yelp
If you are traveling to Monaco/Monte Carlo know that rideshares are not available there as drivers/taxis needs special permits. A taxi ride from a hotel in Monaco to the Nice airport is easily 100-120 euros. If you have a private driver, it might be cheaper or about the same. The actual airport itself is relatively large with decent shopping and some ok restaurants. Good signs and clear directions.

Yelp
I'm glad I'm flying throughout NICE airport. The airport at Paris was a nightmare. This airport have two terminals and everyone was very friendly, servicing and informative. My original flight with KLM was canceled and rebooked on a longer one. The lady at the counter tried to find a better flight but couldn't. She was super nice. I made it through everything in like 20 minutes and managed to buy macarrones, coffee and croissants while watching the line at the gate moving. Excellent airport!
google avatar

Vijay S.

Yelp
The airport itself is pretty good and close to many hotels and restaurants and only 10 minutes from the water/promenade del anglais. The main issue with this airport were the taxi and Uber drivers. We waited for an hour and half to get transportation from here to our Airbnb. The taxis are way over priced but there're rude and don't care, even if you have a baby. There were no Uber or bolt drivers ready to pick us up from the airport. Would recommend being prepared with transportation once you get to the airport.

Yelp
This place is a French nightmare They changed our gate to one for a plane 1/4 the size... the staff had no clue what they were doing... one would tell the mob to move one way someone else would yell the opposite The lines were huge, the coordination was insane These people are what Pink Panther movies are made of

Yelp
The bathrooms do not have toilet seats, which seems common for public restrooms throughout Europe. I feel like the airport could use more seating area near the exits. ....| \ _ , , , - - , , _ , .../ , ` . - ' ` ' . _ \ - ; ; ; , _ ..| , a - ) ) _ . ; . Yelp
Flew out of here to and from Lisbon to get back to the US. It was easy to get to from the city center of Nice as we took an Uber. Our driver was super nice too. It's clean and easy to navigate. Something to remember is that there may be delays as the workers tend to strike. I thought this was a stereotype, but our flight to Lisbon was delayed for an hour. Fortunately we were able to go to The Library Lounge in Terminal 1 as we flew business class to Lisbon. Lots of shops for last minute shopping, as well as a good selection of places to eat. Don't forget to use their free Wifi.

Yelp
Nice international airport that services the south of France. Security is tight as they don't have the full body scanners. There is an office there that authorizes your duty rebate and an exchange check that pays you the duty fee. If you buy an expensive item in Europe and pay in Euros and you are from another country you can ask the Vendor to provide paperwork to present to customs at the European customs. I bought my wife a Louis Vuitton bag and I was entitled to the duty back. The process takes about 15 minutes and is located on the first floor and should be done after you check in your luggage. The item purchased may need to be presented. The duty free shops at the airport are good, if you are a shopper you know what a good deal is and what is not.

Yelp
Boo. I collect Starbucks mugs and was kind of counting on being able to get one before my flight out of Nice. Unfortunately, my flight was leaving out of the A side of terminal one, not the B side, where Starbucks is. It's not like you can walk freely between the A and B sides of the terminal. There is a passport control center to get into the B part of the terminal. Oh well. Both parts of terminal one have their own vip lounges. If you're united gold status or higher, you can access the bio lounges for free. Otherwise, this is your typical small airport. It's clean. They have food and shopping options and plenty of chairs. Security was easy to get through, but our flight was really early. Getting to and from Nice city is kind of a hassle. It's a 15-20 minute taxi ride to the promenade, where most of the hotels are. They are in the process of building a team, but it won't be completed for another few months.

Yelp
Terminal 2. Very easy airport. The delta agents were extremely friendly. Going through the first checkpoint was also incredibly swift. It was a Sunday so that could of been why the lines were so short. The center of the airport with the mall and food courts was a bit busy but I just decided to go through the second checkpoint to find my gate. Again no one in front of me. At the gates I went into one of the lounges that was superb. An open bar, make it yourself type lounge with lots of bites to eat. Overall this is a very wonderful airport and I truly enjoyed my stay.

Guillaume C.

Yelp
there is a serious issue at the security check point at the Nice airport , this airport has the most arbitrary and ridiculous rules making everyone s experience miserable. I travel every month in airports worldwide and this airport has the most unheard of rules, this is ridiculous and shameful

Yelp
The airport in Nice was easy to get to and from using a ride-share app. The open parking areas made it super easy for the driver to find us. Departure was just as seamless. The airport is smaller, and wasn't as busy as other cities, which was nice. Ha...it was NICE even! It was very clean as well. When we first arrived into Nice, it was around 10pm, and it was a ghost town. We got our luggage quickly, and were out of there. No customs stops, which was strange. Returning for a departure to London was also fairly easy. We did have some trouble with the boarding pass machines, and the staff wasn't very glad to help us. They ultimately did, but not with any fanfare, that's for sure. The airports in Europe are smart. They have some nice shopping areas that you have to walk through to get to your gate. Smart marketing! But, whoa! Some of those French perfume stands all but knocked me out! There wasn't much seating at the gate, nor was our gate near much food. So I guarded the last seat while Mr. P hunted for snacks. All in all, a fair airport to travel into and out of...but sad to have to go!
google avatar

Benny H.

Yelp
A pretty straight forward airport. Nothing that will shock you and break you, but you'll be able to walk through it with relative ease. Staff can be a bit short with you, but it seems like everyone in France is that way. Didn't spend that much time here, but they did help us find a bus to our hotel and our luggage came out quick enough despite it being carry on's that Easy Jet made us stow. Overall, a nice little airport that makes traveling easy.

Yelp
I will never forget the incompetent and lazy Nice airport security contractors on 31/8/2019 that made me miss my flight and spend another 120€ for a new one, completely unnecessarily. After I put my belongings on the security belt, it took 20 minutes for a process that had one security agent going between booths to scan baby formula after formula, ask aloud if someone's spray is allowed or not allowed. I told them I am in danger of missing my flight. 5 minutes later, not my problem. 10 minutes later, not my problem. Until someone finally looked at my bag and couldn't find an imaginary electronic and randomly put my 2 of my contact lenses into a plastic bag. All my belongings were splayed out. Asked to speak to a supervisor--not my problem. Getting chosen for this line at the very end and these quota people made me miss the flight by 1 minute. Of course, EasyJet would not make it easy for me to book inside. I exited and went all the way to ticketing, checkin, and security again--with no problem. 3 minutes--I was in the airport. I will never forget this lesson incompetence, laziness, and apathy. I went to 3 countries before France, and had 0 issues with my belongings. You are the worst airport I have ever visited.
google avatar

Yelp
Leaving Nice was sad but this Airport managed to make it better. This was one of the nicest least hectic airports I have ever been to. The staff is friendly including security and customs officials! The security process was so smooth and seamless that it felt like a concierge security check with plenty of bins and no one rushing you through so you actually have time to put your shoes back on without falling over. The food options at Terminal 2 were plentiful and delicious. Also, they have a pretty good selection of gift shops that aren't tacky. Only downside is seating at the gates is limited. If you are able to access the Levity lounge it's spectacular with tasty treats, comfy chairs and some top shelf alcohol.
google avatar

Christina L.

Yelp
This was a nice airport - it's small and easy to navigate, and easy accessible to downtown Nice. You can take an Uber for around 16-20€ one way, which is not too bad and it's easy to find the Uber pickup location upon arrival. Note that my Uber driver picked us up from the airport in the departures section. We arrived late on a Friday and the baggage claim was really fast, so we had no problems there. It took less than 5 minutes for our luggage to come out. When we were leaving Nice, the security line in Terminal 2 was super quick, and we were done in 5 min. Granted, this was a Monday in March, so I imagine it can get quite busy in the peak travel months, but they seemed to have a lot of security lines and the process was pretty efficient. I was in Terminal 2, and there were a decent amount of food options and shops to pick from, and there were also 2 lounges if you have access to that. I liked that the shops and food places were mixed in with the gates and that once your gate was shown on the screens you didn't have to run 10-15 min to get to your gate (ahem London Gatwick, Luton or Heathrow). The food options are not huge but they have a Joe & the Juice where you can get some juices or sandwiches, and a handful of other places, including a Jamie Oliver restaurant. The views from the airport are beautiful and you can see the water from inside the airport. You don't get views like this in most other airports. For the people who complain that they don't speak English at this airport, remember you are in France. In America, the agents and security staff are not bilingual or trilingual either. Either learn some French, use Google translate or try to figure it out. I'm from the States and yes, it's helpful if people speak English but it is certainly not obligatory for everyone in a foreign country to speak English. All in all, we had a good experience getting in and out of Nice and we liked this airport!

Des S.

Yelp
The personnel in security were rude in the extreme and reinforce a stereotype that we did not encounter anywhere else in the south of France. Restaurants were friendly in the extremes as were local daily interactions. Airport security personnel need training on customer service and an understanding that their jobs depend on tourism.
google avatar

Yelp
Terrible place and the employees here are either limited or people are really that lazy. We had to fly to Morocco from this airport and due to the rain, our flight was cancelled for the night. AFTER we've been sitting on the plane for 3 hours because they were waiting for the airport to clean up the debris from the rain. Then we all fought to stand in line to get hotel vouchers and taxi vouchers. The airport was completely swamped with so many cancelled flights. The play area kept our kids sane through it all. The next day, we showed up at this airport again for our flight and our flight was delayed because they STILL haven't cleaned up the debris on the runway. All flights were delayed, people were jerks and some guy had the audacity to hit on me and give me his number while waiting for his flight. FINALLY, the runways were cleaned...a day and 5 hours later! We finally were going to board but our flight attendants were on break and didn't arrive yet, so another hour of waiting around. TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE airport with TERRIBLE logistics. I will make sure to never fly from this airport ever again.
google avatar

Jessica S.

Yelp
Love this airport, plenty of food options from casual (which in France is still a delicious bakery) to more sit-down cafes, as well as a fun duty free (that you have to walk through to get to your gates, smart!) to get last minute souvenirs. Easy to get in and out and security lines are not too bad. Super close to the city which allows for truly last minute flying.

Yelp
First time I've used T2 - it always used to be the domestic terminal but our Easyjet flight left from there. We'd been transferred from another airport more than 300 km away as our early morning flight was cancelled. Would have been stuck here all day were it not for the helpfulness of airport staff who told us where to find the left luggage area. I had to laugh - you walk to the furthest corner of the airport to find the counter, where they attach some tags, then you take it halfway back across the building to be scanned, then back to left luggage to leave it with them until your flight is ready for check-in. The French do love their complicated procedures - no built-in scanner for them. (I wouldn't change a thing). The airport is very close to Nice itself, so we took a bus into town which went via T1, which I used to visit frequently until a few years ago and - yes - they are still digging it up. These alterations must have been going on for more than 20 years. At least they keep plenty of people in a job. Is the car park for hire cars now back where it was originally? They must have shunted it round the entire site by now. Lots of very good quality shops air side and even right by the departure gate, which stayed open right until the last moment (Our flight was the last to leave the airport that evening around 10.00 p.m).

Yelp
Nice, new airport. 15 minutes from downtown Nice by car and ~30 minute drive to Cannes and Monaco. Terminal 2 has a pretty efficient security line. Even though the line may look long, it goes pretty quickly. The main area is quite nice, lots of cafes to grab food, though I'm sick of jamon baguettes. The Italian restaurant closes its kitchen at 3pm, so you're just out of luck if you want real food after 3pm. If you're flying out of the Schengen area, you need to go through immigration to B gates. There's a Starbucks and Levity Lounge in the B gates area, but that's about it. Do your shopping and dinning in the main terminal 2 area.
google avatar

Andrés G.

Yelp
This airport is absolutely brutal. Most restaurants close or run out of food by 9pm. How do you run out of food at an international airport. There are barely any outlets at the terminal, it's impossible to charge anything. Awful place to fly off, although I have to say that the wifi works well.
google avatar

Leo C.

Yelp
Not the newest, nicest, largest, or fanciest airport around. But will definitely give it a shout out for having free and fast wifi. Customs agents were friendly and courteous. Was quickly whisked through upon arrival. Check in lines and security checks were also quick and friendly. Not many shops nor food options. The single cafe i tried had terrible croissant and espresso (terminal 2 after the second passport control, gate B area, the only cafe there). So definitely best to eat breakfast in town prior to departure. Cheaper and better quality. Again, the best way to kill time at the airport is with solid wifi and Nice airport delivers on that. Cheap option to get to and from the airport to Nice is to take the 98 bus (6 bucks and 20-30 minutes depending on traffic)
google avatar

Vikram V.

Yelp
This is definitely a smaller airport for a smaller city compared to Paris's airports. That being said, this airport still is important due to it's proximity to other cities along the French Riviera like Cannes and Antibes as well as Monaco and Italy (Liguria). Nice itself is a very popular tourist destination with the famed Promenade de Anglais that goes right along the Mediterranean coast. The airport is fairly simple to navigate through with regards to terminals. There are only two, designated as Terminal 1 (T1) and Terminal 2 (T2). English isn't a major problem, at least at the airport. However, it can be a little tricky when using the boarding pass machine and conversing with certain airport employees. We had very little difficulty so for most people arriving at the airport, it shouldn't be a significant problem. The boarding pass machine has at least 6 languages as options when going through the process and because English is a global language in an tourist area, you should have minimal issues, if any at all. The airport does have free Wifi but you got to submit an email and fill out a few details on your Internet browser whichever it may be. A little annoying but free wifi is still a big deal. Coming from the US, I took a Delta flight to Amsterdam and had to use a partner airline (in this case, the Dutch airline KLM) to go from there to Nice. Apart from Air France and KLM, there are a lot of budget airlines around so you're probably not going to find bigger airlines like Delta, Singapore Airlines, or Emirates with those huge airbuses docked at the gate. Passport control process is quick and there was no line. Despite not being what many might call a "global airport", there are more than its fair share of duty free shops. When our trip had concluded and we were departing, there was one outside passport control, a bunch when we passed it, and one across from our gate back to Amsterdam. I'm not sure about taxi rates but public transportation is one of the best in Europe and taking a bus is advisable. There are kiosks outside the airport across the street from where the buses stop regularly. Obviously, the bus companies want to make money off of tourists so the ticket you pay for the airport shuttle bus is distinct from the one trip, one day, 7 day passes for the tram/bus lines around the actual city. I think at one point they might have been together but someone found a way to make a little more cash per person. Bus 98 (and 99 I think) both take you to Nice proper (Promenade and most major stops for outsiders). That I think should give a basic indication of what to expect. It's a pretty nice airport (pun intended) overall with a lot more that many might think.

Yelp
Hot, flat and crowded. Good weather means it's generally on time, but it's apparently down to one runway so ATC is a bit backed up these days. The food in France is good even at the airport :)

Yelp
There is only Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 within this small, busy International Airport. It has a huge car rental building next to Terminal 2 and even a gas station within the Airport, convenient! There is not a lot of shops here, but you can find all your essentials souvenirs before you head home (minus the tax). I was deterred not buy any liquids since I had layover in Zurich, Switzerland. They were WRONG! I didn't have to go though security again, so I could've brought those liquid items with me. Darn! The silver-lining to all of this was I saved some money. The best thing about this Airport is the convenience: -free shuttle within Terminal 1 + 2 (various small stops at parking lots) -clear marked buses heading to the cities nearby Overall, thumbs up!
google avatar

Cheryl K.

Yelp
One of the least comfortable airports I've traveled through. Not everyone speaks English or they refuse to if they do (very Paris like from what I understand). Mass confusion for check in at the airport - there aren't individual desks by airline but different zones with airlines listed. Makes for extremely long lines to check in. Once through security there is very limited uncomfortable seating. A few shops and restaurants but the lines are long. The gate areas have very inadequate seating. Plus it's warm - lots of sunshine and natural light but the air conditioning is quite low.
google avatar

Won C.

Yelp
Takeaway: don't take taxi to your final destination. Bus 98 and 99 depart from the arrival terminal and it costs 6 Euros. Or take other buses like 70 or 59 that stop along the cost line where most of hotels are located. Antqxinride will cost you around 30 Euros and there will be additional for for each luggage and if you arrive on weekend or evening there will be additional surcharges.
google avatar

Sonya A.

Yelp
Clean. Decent amount of shops and vending machines (crucial for a +hour wait). Staff at Air France/KLM at express check out were not friendly not particularly helpful. Going through Security is super quick. Service: 4/5 Location: 4/5 - easy to access through cab, of course. Did not try public transport as we came in from Peillon

Yelp
The airport is small but that's the charme of it. You will be quickly out of it and Nino time in Nice. The taxi will be €25-30 for one way. Lot's of expensive shopping when you depart-all the French luxury labels. After the terror attacks in France passport controls have been reintroduced.

Yelp
Having been to so many airports in Europe, this was not very impressive. We traveled from terminal 1, so my review is based on this. Check in was very easy and super quick, as was security. There are a few food options before security (such as Joe & The Juice), and if you're picky you may want to have a look here, because options after security aren't that impressive. Once we were past security the first thing I noticed was how extremely crowded it was, which was almost surprising considering the amount of people we encountered before (it was pretty calm for an airport). I'm guessing the terminal was built a long time ago, for an amount of passengers that was probably surpassed 10 years ago. We wanted to buy some lunch, but none of the three places that sold food had anything impressive. There we're mostly just meh-looking baguettes and salads, and the lines were super long (but they did move pretty quickly). We decided to just get some drinks from the news stand and wait for our next stop. There is a duty free store there. It's quite small, but has the essentials: some alcohol, cigarettes and beauty items. Compared to other European duty free stores, it was tiny. There is also a small stand almost that sells watches, a store that sells bags, luggage etc. and had an OK selection of Longchamp. Last but not least there is an Hermès boutique as well. Once we were done browsing we wanted to sit, but that was easier said than done. There probably weren't even seats for half the people in there, and some of the gates, including ours was right in the middle of the terminal, so we couldn't find refuge there either. I was really glad we weren't there very early, and before we knew it we were in line to board. Of course there wasn't any designated line area, and we ended up just being in the way for other passengers. Plus for having strollers (for bigger children) that we could borrow, and for the fact that it's a pretty efficiant place.

Yelp
Nice Côte d'Azur Airport is about half an hour away from Nice-Ville train station. There are local buses and airport buses, making it easy and quick to get to the airport. When I arrived, I cleared security relatively quickly, but I found the security a bit less organised than for example at London Heathrow. As it was not too busy, it was no big problem that for example you had to push the plastic buckets all the way down to the scanner and pull them away again after scanning to move out of the way. This setup makes it easy for people to block the way. Not a massive issue, but an annoyance. Once I was in the departure area, I almost panicked because my flight was not shown on the displays. So I logged into the free wifi and checked my flight - everything looked fine. So I walked around and told someone working at one of the shops that my flight is not shown. I was told that my flight would depart from section B, not section A. Really, this was not printed on the boarding pass and I did not notice any signs that would have told me that. I might have missed it, but I think if you only display half of the flights on the displays, you should inform people that some flights are not displayed, even though they depart from the same terminal. Anyway, after I knew where to go, I walked over and found my gate easily. In case you fly from Nice, make sure you know in which section your gate will be, otherwise you might be surprised like I was...

Yelp
I Love this airport, I used it all my life and I'm almost always very happy how to get in and get out, it's quick and efficient and the people are always nice... It must be the sun of the Riviera that keeps everyone more relaxed. I would have given 5 stars but they just expanded the waiting areas with more shops blocking the view on the landing strip .... I think one of the best view was watching the airplanes from all over the world taking off and landing right in front of you. Not smart Nice airport, sometime you just have to say no to more money and keep it simple and adorable as you were.

Yelp
Really not sure there is anything positive to say about this airport. All airports were certainly not created equal, and this one lags far beyond its counterparts in Southern Europe, even considering its relatively small size. Check-in: Airport policy dictates that you must wait until 2 hour before your flight to check-in to your flight. Only 2 hours!! Got to be the dumbest rule I've ever seen, especially considering the airport can get packed, and you've got to be at your gate up to 45 minutes early for boarding. That gives you a window of 75 minutes. Simply makes no sense. Wi-Fi: Free, but very poor. Impossible to do anything beyond slow web-browsing. Streaming anything, such as video or music, simply not an option. I was also logged out a few times for some reason, forcing me to restart the process of logging back into the system. Entertainment/Leisure: Got some time to kill before your flight and want to grab a beer before getting on board? Well sorry, because there are absolutely ZERO bars/sit-down restaurants for travelers once you pass through security (No, I don't count Le Pain Quotidien as a sit-down restaurant). Even worse: There is a total of 1 TV in Terminal 1 and 2 combined. Is this real life? (Yes, there are apparently bars/restaurants before you get through security, but what good does that do you if you need to catch a flight? No one's trying to risk that.) Seating: Very, very limited. Be prepared to fight for one. Bottom Line: On top of all that, our flight was then delayed 45 minutes, further adding to our misery. Many other flights seemed to be delayed as well. So while I absolutely loved my stay in Nice, I am NOT looking forward to having to deal with this airport again when I make my return.

Yelp
One of the most painless airport experience I've ever had. Walks are short, gateways are clearly identified, security check was orderly and efficient. No complaints. The heart of Nice is easily accessible via public bus or taxi, though it's worth noting that taxis here are astronomically expensive.

Yelp
This is a review for the domestic terminal. We flew Easy Jet (cheap fares, and possibly the best way these days to get around in Europe). The whole terminal had only one place to buy food, of which of course the line ended up a mile long. Boarding process needs better organization -- maybe board people according to groups instead of this free-for-all? One frenchman was arguing with another frenchman accusing the former of trying to cut in line. The argument was angry, bitter, and tense, but the language was beautiful.

Yelp
Best airport to travel in the region. Fast, and convenient, especially if you have a gold card.

Yelp
One of The nicest, prettiest airport I've ever been to. The views are breathtaking. You can see the entire coast of the Med pretty much everywhere in the airport and but especially on the tarmac. Most importantly, very easy, and fast to get through.

Yelp
There's fast and relatively easy/free wifi! Always a huge plus for me. Security wasn't too bad- there was a long queue, but it moved quickly. Don't be the guy that doesn't take all of your electronics out of the bag and put them in a separate bin. There is very limited food options and most of it is fast food, greasy options. There is a bit of shopping.

Yelp
This was my home airport for a year so I did come here quite often. It's France's second busiest airport (they count Paris as one ADP... if you count them as two then it's the third) and is very well served in terms of European destinations. One interesting aspect is that, as the airport of "Côte d'Azur" it has plenty of european service by "low-cost airlines" such as EasyJet and so it is fairly easy to fly to almost anywhere in Europe on cheap fare (even on "network carriers" since they compete with the "low-costs"). The access is easy by road but it is not very convenient by public transport, especially if your plane leaves early. There is some limited service to north america, notably Delta to New York City and Air Transat to Montreal. Landing here is quite nice as you generally will fly over the Mediterranean from the south-west looking at Cannes and Antibes before landing so try to have a window seat on the left side!

Yelp
-FREE WIFI! -Airport is small but our check-in line was pretty busy but security line went pretty quick. Considering this is the only airport in the area, it's not like you can be picky on where to fly out of.

Yelp
Airport is fairly small which is good. Not allot of terminals, a few places to eat after security, a few shops, and everyone was friendly and helpful. The airport has free WiFi which is good as well. The terminals are organized with EasyJet on one side and others (not sure who) on the other. The airport could use additional organization (three security line merge into one) but overall, not bad.
