Bar staff were phenomenal , I didn't have food so can't say anything about that ,but I have to say the toilets were insanely bad , the floor was soaking and the actual toilet had no top on it, in the cubicle I was in. When I brought this to attention of the staff I was assured it was dealt with afterwards ,but was a very odd putting part of the night , with a group of 4 girls .

Run down bar that has seen little change over the many years it's been around. Still it's a venue catered towards the younger more rocky, goth punters. Can't even say it's a cheap drink , cause it ain't. It has a small venue downstairs for up and coming bands and it's loud. They do offer free earplugs tho. 🤣 We really only went to see our daughters band otherwise it's not really a place I'd frequent.

Have been coming here on and off for 30 years. Have taken both kids for a wee pint here and to reminisce. Just be aware if booking through their website that it may not be up to date. Lol I had booked food for 5.45 on a Wednesday. Not open til 6 and no food on Wednesdays! Staff were very friendly though

Google
Such tasty food. I had the vegan katsu burger. The fries were fantastic, skin on, just as I like them, and the burger itself was wonderful. Good atmosphere in the bar itself, mixed crowd, and mixed tunes. Will certainly be back again

One of my favourite venues in Glasgow. Never had a bad night here, but had some epic night such as Slow Crush who played last Monday. The open mic is always top as well, and was even 9n up the stairs the same night!

We were at a Stranglers Tribute Band ..a great atmosphere then up to bar more entertainment a really great wee venue.Drinks were a fair price ...

Google
Really enjoyed all the artists! Great talents! Atmosphere was nice as well. The food, however, was not what we had hoped for. Very dry spring rolls and the chicken fingers were also not cutting it. If you only come for drinks, it’s a great place though.

Google
I leave a three star to be fair, but I have nothing to rate...I booked a table for 3pm on a Saturday and got a confirmation message and a follow up confirmation. Turned up for the booking and the place was closed. No idea what happened there.

Yelp
The best open mic night I've ever been to. We're visiting from Los Angeles and we found them around the corner from where we're staying. We saw a bunch of musicians walking towards the venue and stopped a gentleman (who was absolutely phenomenal) to learn more and he shared that Mondays, this is the place to be for live music. Everyone was amazing and we couldn't ask for a better way to spend the night in Glasgow. 5 stars well earned!

Yelp
Unnfriendly staff for a bar as well as no real vibe that is set. The bouncers are not connected with the reality of etiquette and its sad to see bad management placed in a fun city like Glasgow.

Yelp
That we were going to Nice n Sleazy on Sauchiehall (pronounced SUCKY-hall) Street had been determined before we departed London. Actually, in truth, I may have gotten word that this mission was not optional while en route to Scotland. In any case, there was no way we were going to pass up the opportunity to visit this Glasgow institution (deemed so because a friend of mine once sat next to Brad Pitt here) and partake of their £2 White Russians. There's free wifi to delight your internet-deprived drinking companions and plenty of people watching to be had. Our night was sadly cut short when smoke began to fill the room and I suggested we skedaddle. Once outside we discovered the street in process of being shut down and multiple firetrucks working on extinguishing the fire above. Past its prime Nice n Sleazy certainly is but that doesn't mean you shouldn't also put this bar on your Glasgow to-do list.

Yelp
This was the last stop of mine and my friend's Sauchiehall/Bath St. barhopping adventure, so some of the details of this night might be a bit blurry. Lucky for us, we didn't have to wait in line. Small entrance fee of £3 or free if you're a student. There was a more divey feel bar upstairs and a club-like room downstairs. Really haven't been a big fan of clubs recently, so my gal pal and I hung upstairs. When we got there there was a steady flow of people coming through, but by the end of th night, you could barely walk without bumping into someone. Bartenders were quick to serve and drinks were fairly cheap - £2-£4 for a high-ball or beer. We stuck to vodka sodas and gin and tonics for the most part. Hard to mess those two up if you're just pouring. Apparently this spot is an institution in Glasgow and there have been many celebrities that have walked through these doors. Kind of hard to believe honestly. Unfortunately no celebrities were in plain sight while I was there, but that's okay! If you're looking to be served cheap drinks by sarcastic staff members who look like they wish they were someplace else or are testing your luck with your celebrity sightseeing, then check this place out.

Yelp
I was so pleased when I heard Babu Street Kitchen were the new food folks taking over the Sleazy's kitchen. Their menu has quite a few things on it marked as vegan, so I chose here for this week's event with a vegan meetup group I co-run. The guy taking the order seemed really unsure of the menu but he said he wasn't usually in at that time of day; ok, no problem, we've all been there with unfamiliar job duties. There were five of us and the food all came out at different times; my order was placed second out of the three placed and arrived last but whatever, maybe my order took a bit longer to make. The place was really quiet but I'd booked a table originally for 8, at least a week ago, so they knew there'd be customers looking for food. My breakfast dish, marked vegan, arrived and the paratha had been changed for a roti, because the paratha wasn't vegan, and the potato patties had been changed for a beetroot pattie thing because the potato patties weren't vegan (or, it may have been because they'd run out... both myself and the waitress were very confused by this point). Let me say a) how much I love potato; b) how much I dislike beetroot; c) why is a dish marked clearly as vegan when it appears that half of it isn't; d) I am not happy at the best of times when I spend 10mins deliberating over what to order only to be told the dish is not available but presenting me with something different to what I ordered without checking with me first is a big no no. One star for the nice food when it arrived, and one star for the pleasant, apologetic waiting staff, one of whom offered to bring me an extra side for the inconvenience. As an aside, in the toilet cubicle I spotted an ad for their dairyfree ice-cream milkshakes, £2, using Swedish Glace ice cream. There was to be no bright end to the meal when we were told they had no said ice cream, and there'd be a delivery tomorrow.

Yelp
Nice N Sleazy is NOT my usual venue of choice. The music is the opposite end of my preference spectrum. But it seems that Babu Bombay Street Kitchen now run the kitchen there.... Therein lies the unfortunate dilemma. Amazing food versus the worst music in the world. Seriously dreadful, awful, what the hell is wrong with the screaming man..... It's not for me. Babu's food though. It's fantastic. I had the Bhel Puri which is spicy puffed rice, served in a paper cone. It's a billion times better than it sounds. I also had a Punjabi Channa Masala. I chose the 'small' option for both, and although I was hungry, that actually did me just fine (OK, I may have had a few of Simon H's masala fries). The food is what you would expect from Babu's Bombay Street Kitchen - fresh, high quality, delicious. I do NOT understand the pairing between Sleazy's and Babu. It just doesn't go. Sleazy's is not the place to go for a meal in pleasant surroundings. It's pretty horrible, although the staff are lovely, really nice and helpful. But the music. I cannot tell you how horrendous it was, and too loud. And the volume kept being adjusted. I hate that. Just when you think you're getting a lull in the torture, someone turns it up. Waaaaaaaa! Guuuurghhhh! Raaaaarrrrr!!!! The seats were repaired with duct tape. It's not that I really object to that - I don't, if it's done well. But this duct tape attached to my clothing as I shimmied along the seat to go to the toilet. There's no one in the world that can pull that off as a good look. Ladies - do not ever go on a date here. Toilets were not the best. I particularly did not enjoy the spectacle of when I was walking back from the ladies, and a guy was coming out of the gents, therefore holding the door open, and unintentionally giving me a full view of the urinals. The gents had their backs to me, but still, that's not nice, I didn't like it. So I'm torn. Sleazy's = the last place in Glasgow I ever want to go. Babu = beautiful fresh food unlike anything else in Glasgow. Like the loud shouty man said - 'aaaaarrrrgh'.....

Yelp
Sleazies is a Glasgow institution, with a reputation for being a great place for gigs and drinks. Hmm, I'm not overly convinced. I've been here many times over the years - and several times in the last few months. My last gig here was so long ago that the memory is more than a bit hazy, so I'll not review this as a gig space just now. There's a fairly uninventive draft beer selection - but they do have Joker IPA, so that's a win for me. I've not eaten here yet, but I scoped out some of their food last time I was in - looked and smelled awesome, so I'll give it a bash soon. Staffwise, I've found them to be unhelpful, bordering on unfriendly at times. I think this contributes to the cold atmosphere it currently has - it certainly didn't use to be like this. If you're looking for somewhere relaxing for a quiet drink I'd give Sleazies a miss - come back when it's busy and you'll have a much better time.

Yelp
Having been a sleazy-goer for more years than I care to think about (remember kids, getting old isn't big OR clever) I can confirm it has changed over the years... But that's no bad thing. Everything evolves in time, and sleazy is still king of the Sauchiehall Street bars. Booze is good and fairly priced, atmosphere is pretty chilled out, which is always good. And a special, must-try mention to the food. I'd seen the pictures on the internet, read the reviews and even tried the sandwiches down the road at Where The Monkey Sleeps. Nothing prepares you for how mind blowingly good a burger from here is. I had a Black Friday burger. On Wednesday, because I'm a rebel like that. Simply put? Best burger in Glasgow. I'm a fat bloke, I should know. Go visit. Enjoy. Eat, drink and be merry.

Yelp
So, I've been hearing much hype about the Meathammer Burgers so felt it my duty to pop in one evening and give it a go so thats just what I did. Not having been in here for a long time I was surprised to see nothing had changed. To be honest I always found it a bit of a dive so no change there. The seats are ripped, theres graffiti all over the place and the decor (if you could call it that) is well tired. For all that though, its a popular venue and still seems a big hit with the young squad (not that I'd know anything about that.) I wasn't overly enthused by the place but the sight of the menu quickly changed that. Its been a long time since I had a choice of burger to this caliber. We both opted for the Behmoth which was The Burger with Stilton, chunks of beef brisket, dill pickle, salad and Horseradish mayo, with a bone marrow gravy and chips. I'm not usually one for ordering burgers but these were Awesome! We also ordered between us a side of macaroni which was just as tasty. With a thick topping of bubbly cheese, this wee dish was exceedingly moreish. Not the fastest of service but well worth the wait and a great selection of beers to keep you going till your dish arrives.

Yelp
Oh dear sleazies thou will now and forever hold a special place in my heart and in my mind....... Hipper than a hip hop rabbit on a pogo stick in a boncy castle, this place is and has been the place to be in Glasgow since 1893 (blatant lies i tells thee). With a worn in look that comes from actually being worn in rather than any design facet, Sleazies is the Grandaddy of alternative bars/nightclubs in Glasgow. Many a drunken night has been had in this fair place by me and my closest associates or indeed any old punk you can find on the streets. Now for a while the fate of this dear establishment seemed to have taken a turn for the worse with a drastic renovation which had almost taken the Sleaze out of the place. This was followed by a brief and somewhat lingering flirtation with the Top Shop generation who were less scared to get their jeans dirty as a result of the clean up. Thankfully the sleaze has returned to almost its former glory and is one of the few places where the crowd can be as eclectic as the jukebox. This is a must for anyone who visits Glasgow and fancies a drunken night out.

Yelp
Sleazy's is an excellent Glasgow dive bar. While I have to admit that I haven't actually set foot inside many times, I do enjoy it every time I do. They're a Glasgow staple, with DJs and live music virtually (if not literally) every night of the week. My only problem with it is the Sleazier-than-thou attitude that people tend to throw at you when you don't realise they already knew their favourite DJ was playing there in a couple of weeks. Sorr-rree! Smashing pub though, and it has been around forever. Went here for lunch a couple of weeks ago and had a great lasagne, and half my friend's amazing burger and curly fries. A wee bit more than you might pay for gastropub food elsewhere, but since the surroundings are so congenial, I don't mind paying a wee bit extra to hang around for a couple of hours.

Yelp
A short update to my previous review as we re-visited recently. I ordered the same burger as last time, the Behemoth without a bun as well as a portion of the mac cheese as a side. The mac cheese arrived first - too much mustard and not enough cheese. I wouldn't order this again as I really didn't enjoy it. The burger was just as good as last time; a really big patty which was nice and juicy and again I loved the bone marrow gravy. Again, I wasn't really taken with the brisket but I order this burger because I like the other toppings anyway. My chips were a bit of a let down as they weren't cooked quite enough although Graeme's portion seemed better. Another thing worth noting was that service was really good and our waitress was really helpful and friendly. It was noticeably quiet for a Saturday evening although maybe it picks up later in the night.
google avatar

Debbie B.

Yelp
I ordered the Great White Buffalo; a beef patty on a brioche bun, filled with bacon, Stilton, red onion marmalade, garlic mayo, and a JD, Worcester sauce and Tabasco reduction. The food came in good time, and was served with a side of triple cook chips, which was a bit on the small side. The burger, however, was monolithic! The meat was cooked to perfection, and melted in my mouth, the flavours a beautiful compliment to each other, quite smokey, with a bit if sharpness from the Stilton. The only thing to let this down was the bun. It was chilled, and had evidently been in the fridge for a day or two. With a fresher bun it would have got 5 stars.

Yelp
Looking for a little something different along Sauchiehall? Why not try something maybe a little nice and sleazy? A night in Sleazy's is never complete without witnessing a train wreck on the dance floor, and then some... Sleazy's is a Glasgow institution. It's a destination for music lovers, and those with very unique fashion sense. Although I can't pull off the half shaved head/long flowing locks or super retro look, I still enjoy a good night here (from what I can piece together, ha). Sleazy's is a dive bar without the seediness. The atmosphere is casual and laid-back. Depending on your mood, you can either hang out upstairs in the nifty booths that line the wall (if you can find a spot!), or head downstairs to show off your moves on the dance floor. On most nights I've been, it's been pretty packed, and my wee self has felt like a crammed sardine lost in this musical fish tank. Such is life... but Sleazy's never lets me down on the music selection, which tends to be all over the place, but really good. However, at the end of the night my ears are ringing and hearing clouded. Oops. Random aside: Ladies - the toilets are not necessarily "nice", but if you're totally inebriated and have to go, it doesn't really matter. At least you'll get to overhear random funny conversations and read entertaining prose that blanket the walls. The sweet and low down: open until 3am, good tunes, eclectic crowd, expect a cover (£3ish) depending on the night, and open mic Mondays. Laid-back goodness.

Yelp
There seems to be a magnetic pull on Sauchiehall St that leads the avid music lover towards Nice N Sleazy. Not only is its nifty location perfect for those who want to shuffle along to a nightclub after having sampled the jukebox and booze selection, but its late closing hours are favourable for those who don't want to be bundled out of a bar before midnight. But it is not for those reasons that Sleazy's has become a Glasgow staple over the years. Since the 90s its basement has been host to a vast variety of gigs, ranging from local bands to touring artists. Its dingy decor and diner layout upstairs gives an underground ambience, with all the young dudes huddled together on a Friday evening around tables under low hanging lights enjoying the experience. But even though Sleazy's is undeniably an experience (perhaps lending to why it's crammed to the rafters with unsung musicologists), its atmosphere is crackling rather than foreboding. The bar staff are laid back and friendly, and there is an array of food available during the day. So while some people may initially be put off by the flocks of kids hanging around smoking outside on a Friday night, when inside it's hard not to feel as though you're part of something. The jukebox is amazing, and while it can get a bit cramped at the bar, with its reasonable prices, infamous White Russian deal and a wealth of music history to offer it's easy to see why it's so popular. I'd recommend reading the graffitti in the ladies' room but don't want to provoke any guys into having a gander!

Yelp
First of all, clear your mind of everything. Ok? Ok, just accept Nice and Sleazy for what it is. First of all, it lives up to its name in certain respects, but don't let that stop you from going in. It's got an excellent bar, but some pernickity bar staff. They see you; but they're going to take their time counting their tips or whatever before they finally amble over to where you're waiting patiently, money in hand. Now once you're past that, love Nice N Sleazy. It's got some great tunes; a relaxed atmosphere, excellent nachos, and a venue downstairs holding live gigs. And if you're into something a bit more wild, try a Buckfast cocktail. Oh yes. They make them.
google avatar

Paul C.

Yelp
I think Nice and Sleazy has lost its way a bit. It used to be a place that offered something different, great music in a laid back atmosphere, a veritable Oasis in the Smirnoff ice filled Sauchiehall Street desert. However, Sleazies now seems to be catering for a different market. The playlists are not what they used to be and posters have began to crop up around the walls, advertising cheesy student style parties. Hope this isn't the beginning of the end of what was once a giant in the Glasgow pub scene.
google avatar

Martin R.

Yelp
Love Sleazy's, awesome pub. You can sit where Scarlett Johansson sat, eat epic burgers, and even order Buckfast by the glass at the bar! A great music bar, Nice n Sleazy tends towards the art-rock sound, but it's a far cry from the old proper dive bar days. Food is good, the place has been spruced-up a fair bit, but it still has a hip vibe to it. Downstairs is the low-ceiling venue, upstairs the bar. Whether you're here to eat, drink, rock out, or just look cool, you can't really go wrong by coming here.
google avatar

Yelp
You know what? I take back everything I ever said about Sleazys. Well, almost. I used to suffer through an evening at the bar after the cooler-than-thou staff made it impossible to feel comfortable, and the fact that on a Saturday night you were guaranteed to be squashed up against someone with an unwashed top-knot and septum piercing, debating over Mark E Smith. However I genuinely feel this venue has really changed. I attended a gig there last night (Three Blind Wolves - their new album is so-so but the performance was fantastic, thanks for asking) and was taken aback at not only the bouncers wishing me a pleasant evening, but the bar staff smiling attentively at me as I approached to order. It really is amazing how a change of staff can brighten the place up a bit. Despite being busy and loud, there were plenty places to sit or stand, and it really had the feel of a bar who has finally cemented it's place in Glasgow's nightlife. Combined with the introduction of their award winning daytime food menu, drinking in Sleazys has been elevated from an experience which I suffered due to the fact that I am a (reluctant) art school wanker, to one which is enjoyable and surprisingly civilized. This Glasgow institution is infuriatingly close to my heart, like a disobedient child, so i'm glad to say it's finally come through the moody teenager years, and is starting to meet my expectations! I feel like a proud parent.

Yelp
If in doubt get down to Sleazy's. This pub has been a wee hipster paradise for many years with an indie rock influence. I have also been to many great nights out here and seen many awesome bands in the downstairs venue. Today though I'm here to talk about Meathammer. No, not meat that likes to hammer or even MC Hammer but the recent menu revamp. Gone are the days of the Scooby Snack and enter in the Meathammer folks. I had heard on the street that this shiz really is good and you know I have to agree. I chose here for the start of a UYE event I had organised as I had heard that not many had tried the new menu. So with 11 of us in a big booth, we all got our orders in together with tastebuds at the ready. I liked the choice and I liked the names. I had a Murderous Hog, imagining it was a right dirty homicidal maniac, I squished that bad boy right in my gob. It was absolutely delicious! It was however a mighty tower of 6oz beef, pulled pork, smoked bacon and cheese with a bacon and bourbon jam and pork gravy. N.B. I removed the tomato, I don't do tomato. They had to stab that beast right through it's murderous heart with a food stick type thing as it was so high. Now I admit the beast was winning but I managed with a side of chips and coke to devour that hog. I had a fantastic evening with my Yelp peeps and Sleazy's were very accomodating and it didn't take long for our orders to arrive. I can't wait to go back and try something else from their menu, the Pignut sounds good. Here piggy piggy!

Yelp
What can I say. There's a burger war happening in Glasgow. All over people are fighting to make the best one but somehow Nice N Sleazy gets ignored. It's a great burger...coming from the States, we don't take these things lightly; so trust me.

Yelp
Imma just going to put this out there. 2.95 COCKTAILS. what IS THIS. WHAT? MAGIC? Sadly, I wasn't allowed to abuse it terribly as I am still recovering from stomach flu. But next time I'm in Glasgow. Dammit, I'll be on the lash and will get drunk for under a £10 knowing the lightweight I am. Nice N Sleazy's is famous in Glasgow for burgers and hotdogs and being a hipster paradise. and their special meathammer sauces. I felt like I was being transported to shoreditch, in East London. The wait staff and bar staff was young and really liked their hair. (FOR GOD'S SAKE, STOP TOUCHING YOUR HAIR.) Service was haphazard in the beginning, booked but not set up, but it got better, he even split it for us so it's easier to pay! Clever man! I opted for the black friday burger and I liked it, I just wished there was more tabasco and my burger patty to be medium rare- I don't even think they asked how I would like it. (Am I being a picky londoner?) Another thing, THOSE BURGERS ARE HUAAAAGGE. Like break your jaw size, but nothing a burger aficianado can't handle. I managed to squish, and eat, turn, and eat. (There, Glasgow Yelpers- there's my neat burger eating method!)

Yelp
Ah Sleazy's, you are a Mecca for hipsters that is true, people with sailor tats and pencil moustaches from all corners of Glasgow flock to you, but, you are a friendly and welcoming joint also, which means for us less hip people we can feel at ease and marvel in your peculiar and quirky ways. This place has been here so long that I'm not really sure what came first, Glasgow or Sleazy's? The toilets certainly look like they haven't been washed since 1950, but its all part of the charm. What I do know is that Sleazy's is a true Glasgow institution if ever there was one. It has tonnes of character and this place has stood the test of time by being true to its roots. Always playing great music, hosting top notch club nights, that amazing left-field jukebox and putting on some of the best alternative and cutting edge live music in the UK. Monday open mic nights are also a treat if you want to sample some local music. And, if Sleazy's wasn't great enough already, they decided to employ some amazing dudes, with a passion for burgers and all things meaty to work in their little kitchen to feed all those skinny punter with a vision of fatting them all up. Known simply as "Meathammer" these guys are literally 'cooking up a storm' with their amazing burgers, which have been voted by many, as the best in Glasgow! They offer great value too, as all burgers are served with the insanely good triple cooked chips. Most burger and chips come in at around £8 or so, so there is no need for fancy BOGOF offers etc. The chips are oh so crisp and light and not remotely greasy, they are a true chip to behold. The burgers, well, lost for words really, just cooked and flavoured to perfection. Oh and I almost forgot, this place is open 'till 3am every darn night, amazing! They clearly work hard so you don't have to!

Yelp
It had to happen. on my quest to try the best burgers the world has to offer one day i would have to try one of meathammers culinary creations and that day was yesterday or for those of you reading this on channel 5 three years ago. Sleazys is a great pub and i have frequented it over many years and its various suppliers of food. its a great gig venue and most importantly it sells kinder eggs behind the bar but this review is not about the pub but the burgers or in my case the great white buffalo burger. when the lovely woman placed the knife and fork in front of me shortly after ordering i scoffed making a joke of how optimistic they were being, little did i know that the joke was indeed on me because soon after i would have need of these implements as the burger that was placed in front of me was an argument for genetically splicing a human with a snake so that they could dislocate their jaw in order to take a bite. It was a delicious construction of meat. now one would assume that such a burger would merit 5 jules one the winnfield scale BUT when you assume something you make an ass out of you and me (sorry) even though it was a damn tasty burger i give it 4 out of 5 jules mainly because its its construction made it impossible to eat as a burger and it had to be consumed layer by layer rather than enjoying all the taste sensations in one bite i had to taste them a bit at a time. would i go again? of course! it was a fantastic meal! just not one i could pick up and cram into my face.

Yelp
Another burger review? I can't quite believe it's taken me so long to have a Sleezys burger! Now if you like your fine dining and silver service, this is definitely not the place for you! Imagine your typical grungy hipster bar with the with great beers and cool music!! We went quite early on a Saturday so it was quiet but still had a good atmosphere! So on to the art! I had the Great white buffalo! Phew it's a big one!!Squash it down and wallaaa! At this point I was happy everyone was too busy looking at their own burgers as I had it all over my face! My only criticism was that the bottom of the bun fell apart because of the juiciness of the burger ( which isn't a bad thing) but Just made it more difficult! To eat! It came with a small portion of chips - they were good to and all washed down with goose Island IPA!! Service was good as usual! Try it just once!!!

Yelp
Okay, now folk on and off Yelp, have been raving about these burgers being the best ANYWHERE, never mind just Glasgow. So last Thursday by coincidence, we met some friends in the bar & I grabbed the opportunity to sample the Black Friday burger and triple fried chips. Now, I don't hold the interior ambience or cleanliness appeal to much whatsoever, but let me tell you once this burger arrives, you don't give a hoot. Everyone was spot on. What makes this an amazing burger? The presentation initially - It's better than Gordon Ramsays & I've had a burger at the Boxwood Cafe! Then, the taste... This aint one of those flavour on the outside and taste of ground meat patties, oh no sire! This is soaked in Jack Daniels, which bizarrely, doesn't taste of it! It just simply has FLAVOUR running through every part and bite. Cooked to perfection also. I am a fan & I will be going nowhere else for my burgers in future & neither should you. You Gotta Eat Here - For Sure!! :-D

Yelp
MUUUUNCHIES...! Robin B and I had a mate-date last night, having food and drinkies in Sleazy's then going to a gig...GREAT FUN!! We planned on having Meat Hammer burgers, but after I saw pics of them, we thought we'd be ready for a nap rather than a boogie, so we opted for "lighter bites"... We both decided upon quesadillas, mine with pulled pork and R's with chicken...they're a BARGAIN, and come in 2 halves, so we swapped a half each-GREAT!! We also had some triple-fried chips with cheese and deep fried macaroni with sweet Chili dip! LOADS of food for £15.95... I REALLY enjoyed the quesadillas; they had picked red onion and wee olives in-yummy surprises!! I've had deep fried macaroni before and they were wee balls of mac, rolled in breadcrumbs and fried-not in Sleazy's..! There we had a bowl of unrolled/unbreadcrumbed actual we bits of pasta, fried...it was reeeeeally crunchily strange, but TOTALLY addictive, we both agreed! We finished them! :-) R and I actually had a conversation about what out star rating would be, I said four...we agreed that'd be fair; howwwwever, we actually went BACK after the gig (the lure of el cheapo White/Chocolate Russians was too severe!!) and were sliiiightly harassed by a reaaaally weird dude...! The bouncer came over and made sure we were ok and that they guy wasn't annoying us too much-at that point, R said "five stars for the bouncer"" agreed!! I would DEFINITELY recommend Sleazy's for food and drinks, most specifically the choccie Russians (white Russians with choccie syrup in) and the quesadillas...delish and inexpensive, two of my favourite things!!

Yelp
The world and it's hipster cousin have been going nuts for Meathammer Ltd's elaborate burger creations, so with a stomach in need of lining it seemed necessary to experience for myself. I won't delve too much into decor / ambiance etc: It's Sleazies. On the Saturday evening in question there seemed to be somewhat of a ska convention going on, which made things lively, and featured more sideburns than an entire peloton of Bradley Wigginses. Luckily though (wait for it) those sides were the only things getting burned (ba-blam!) as the burgers were perfectly done. I opted for a Black Friday (a fairly no-nonsense bacon, cheese and BBQ sauce combo), the promise of a Jack-Daniels-soaked patty only too appropriate for the whiskey-fueled evening I anticipated. Let's start with the semi-negative: this is a logistically difficult burger, and definitely should not be attempted in your $3000 suit. Have you ever seen anyone in a suit in Sleazies? It's hilarious. Anyway, the burger is a giant stack, already somewhat unwieldy, and the generous coating of BBQ sauce (top and bottom) resulted in a rather severe bout of Premature Bun Capitulation. However, if you are willing to suffer the ignominy of reaching for the knife and fork and eating your burger like an old lady in front of 100 Doc-Martined ska fans, you will be rewarded. Indeed, this proved to be of benefit, as each individual component could be savoured more fully. In my experience elaborate toppings can often be used to disguise a sub-standard patty, but the burger itself was outstanding, flavoursome and worthy of it's reputation. The collapsed bun was doughy and delicious and the escaped sauce complimented the tasty (and perfectly-portioned) chips down to a tee. It's almost as if they designed it that way. All-in-all, a messy delight, like wrestling with a beautiful woman in a vat of treacle. Which I've never done.

Yelp
This was one of the first bars I fell asleep in (and then got thrown out of) when I got to Glasgow oh so many years ago. Back then it was a hip place to be. Now it is a hip place to be. So what's this talk of change? It got a lick of paint, it got a little cleaner and some of the holes in the seats got repaired, albeit with duct tape, but basically it's the same. The only other change is that, back then, the hip young kids were listening to the latest indie tunes from Americaland. The difference now is that Scotland has an amazingly rich indie/non-mainstream scene of its own and Sleazy's has been a major player in this movement. Many breaking bands can be heard here or seen live downstairs. The toilets however, oh dear me the toilets, there should be a warning "only if you're desperate, only if you're thin and only if you don't need a poo". Don't know what the little girls room is like, but if you're a little boy and need a sit down to conduct business, consider going to another pub. There's no seat on the toilets. I guess they've been broken so many times that Sleazy's has given up fixing them and installed prison style steel toilets. The menu is supplied by the good folks at Where The Monkey Sleeps, and is not too shabby. Look out for alcoholic slushies which change their flavour every week. Last time I was there they had Buckfast slushy on. It's not right, but it was good. There are both club nights and live music nights, check the website for details of these. I went on a Thursday and it was 80's-90's industrial/goth B sides....mmm...righty oh then. It can get extremely busy on Friday and Saturday nights.

Yelp
I've only been here once, and that was for the food (the Burgers by Meathammer Ltd. which have a residence in Sleazy's are legendary) but I would definitely be back. Good selection of draught and bottled beers, good drinks promotions and a very cool interior all point towards "excellent". Then I had the food... amazing pulled pork, epic burger, lovely chips. A definite winner all for less than ten notes. A quick tip though, if you're not VERY HUNGRY I would suggest going for one of the quesadillas on offer. Starting at a crazy £3 this is the ultime bar food. Enough to fill a small stomach especially when coupled with the consumption of beers - and mega mega tasty. DO IT.

Yelp
Hugely disappointed in the way Sleazy's has changed more and more. Often I've been thinkin it wasn't as good as it used to be but kept goin as it was a fave haunt of mine but last week was the last straw when the bouncer threw out our mate for no reason then started on us for no reason and when we complained to the manager she just wasn't interested and seemed a bit clueless for a manager! Gavin M. has probably summed it up nowadays when he said "evolution from a grimy, grungy bar and music venue to a place to be seen for posh kids with angular sideways hair and vintage outfits". Nothing against vintage as I wear old stuff myself but I wont conform to the in-crowd in there now. The character and the atmosphere of old Sleazy's has all but gone and you def get daggers when you walk in these days. But Gavin, I would disagree on one point...it HAS lost it's sleaze! Such a shame as the name used to be up there with Glasgow's best... Check it out though, you might just fit in! lol

Yelp
Nice N Sleazy is without doubt my favourite bar in Glasgow, cracking tunes on the juke box, great club nights and a come one come all welcoming atmosphere - like a dive bar version of Cheers with added Converse and tattoos. But despite all of my visits over the years I had never eaten there - this all changed last night when I had the best veggie burger of my life! On the first bite it was immediately obvious why James V Burger fell head over heels for MeatHammer Ltd creations at Nice N Sleazy - the burger bloggers crowned the burgers the best in Glasgow and rightly so! I opted for the Heart of Sunrise, a fantastic combination of veggie friendly pate, grilled halloumi, avocado and roasted peppers. Tasty and inventive, the flavours complemented each other perfectly and all for under £7! I'll certainly be back to try some of the other veggie creations, looking forward to it already!

Yelp
I think Nice n Sleazy is probably one of my favourite pubs of all time, it only gets better with time. I don't think anyone ever forgets their first time in Sleazy's either-it's that kind of place. The characters my friend and I encountered that evening forever hold a dear place in our own personal pop culture references. The Thursday evening we were first there was busy-who knew it could be so busy? We decided to check out the basement where we encountered "Robot Dreadlock Girl" it's pretty self explanatory really; there was a girl with dreadlocks, doing the robot. We had no idea, and still have no idea why to this day it was so funny, but there you go. The second time I went to Nice n Sleazy, I found a burrito or some kind of homemade wrap thing that someone had brought along as a snack for the gig that had just ended, and a carton of soya milk. I'm not quite sure what that says about people who go to Nice n Sleazy. Nice n Sleazy can be whatever you make it, or whatever you want to be. If you want to go for a quiet drink, you can do it here with Nice n sleazy's reasonably priced White Russians (mmm). If you want a fun night dancing, you can do it downstairs in a setting that resembles the youth club you used to go to when you were sixteen. I truly love Nice n Sleazy's and I hope that I keep going back again and again.

Yelp
My second visit to Sleazy's in the last month was once again to sample Meathammers wonderful burgers. On a previous visit I had sampled the Behemoth burger, a delight of great patty, slow cooked brisket, stilton, horseradish mayo and bone marrow gravy. One of the best burgers I've ever had and easily the best in Glasgow. My partner had the Red Mist chicken burger and it was to sample this that I returned. A chicken patty flavoured with lemon zest, thyme, sage, cheddar and loaded with crisp bacon, tomato, red onions more cheese, bbq sauce and buffalo sauce served on their lovely homemade bun was as good as it sounds. The rest of the menu is a mix of tex mex and southern classics with more than a passing nod to veggies with a range of well thought out tasty looking option that I'd be happy to partake of if the carnivorous options weren't so excellent. Sleazy's itself is a bit of Glasgow music institution, there's usually events on every night with a separate gig space downstairs and one of the best jukeboxes around available upstairs. Drinks are reasonably priced for a city centre venue and a well stocked bar and a nice selection of cocktail options, including a white variety of white Russians. The only reason it's not getting a five star from me is I'm a wee bit long in the tooth to partake in many of it's events but if I'm in the mood for great quality pub nosh I'll look no further. BTW I'd disregard any food review on it from before the Meathammer guys took over, quite simply there's no comparison between before and after.

Yelp
I like sleazy have been drinking here for years, the drinks are cheap the staff are friendly, the toilets anit great but hey who cares that much. The foods OK, they spiral fries and a pint are always good bet. downstairs always good for a band, open till 3 on Friday and Saturday night

Yelp
More than anywhere else I've been in Glasgow, this place reminded me of Austin. Things I like about this place: -Bar was packed with enough hipster rock kids that you couldn't move without starting a new band -Killer jukebox that was rocking some PJ Harvey while we were there -Cheap drinks, £8 for a 4-pint (80oz) pitcher of beer -Bartender that bore a striking resemblance to Shirley Manson

Yelp
So the continuing 'try all burgers in Glasgow' quest that I am on, finally brought me to sleazys on Saturday. It's a place I struggled to imagine as doing food as all previous visits have involved booze and drunk people. Don't get me wrong, it's a cool pub, but just not a place for food in my mind. My visit at the weekend definitely proved me wrong though. I had the Lucretia, which is a burger, pulled pork and chorizo. You can see from my picture below it is MASSIVE, this is more an artistic tower of food than a burger to eat! Anyways I munched in and it tasted brilliant. There was chips on the side which were nice as well. Although I prefer fries than thicker chips, but once sone salt and sauce were on then they were great. Beer wise I got a goose island IPA which is a favourite of mine so all good. Why 4 stars and not 5? There was not enough bun to deal with the size of the burger and toppings inside. Also it's just a bit dingy inside the pub IMO, good for beers, but not great for eating food. Still don't get me wrong it was an enjoyable lunch and you really need to try it just to see the sheer size of the burger towers. But is this the best burger in Glasgow? Not for me am afraid. (Sorry Rocco)

Yelp
Ah, Sleazy's. The place to go if you want £3 Black or White Russians. The place to go if you want to find students and hipsters on Sauchiehall Street who are too cool for The Garage or 'spoons. The place to go whether you want to sit in a pub with a pint, dance at a club night, or check out the new musical talent at an open mic. What's not to love? The food isn't half bad and £3 is a decent price for a Black Russian - even if the lovely craft beers they have on tap can be eye-wateringly expensive from time to time. Upstairs is warm and welcoming and a great place for groups if you get there earlier enough to nab a table. It definitely gets overcrowded on the busier nights, though, so watch out for that. Downstairs is a venue space. Sometimes its used for open mic nights, sometimes for clubbing and DJ sets, sometimes for booked local bands. Occasionally they even put on film screenings or have comedy sets. As places to dance go this is one of the smaller, more intimate options available along Sauchiehall Street, but that's no bad thing. You can usually expect a slightly more eclectic mix being played than the standard chart toppers that dominate the larger nearby clubs. If that's your thing, settle in and enjoy it, but this is fully a hipster den - if it gets a bit pretentious don't be too surprised. In terms of the open mic nights it's one of the friendliest places for new artists that I've been to. I am musically untalented and have never braved getting up on stage but those who do are encouraged and are listened to politely. There are a few locals who come back every week but it's not a hard scene to get involved with and I think if you wanted to try out some new songs with an audience who could promise to be nice to you, this is the place.

Yelp
I used to love Nice n Sleazy but I visited again last Saturday after a long break and was not impressed. I used to remember the music being the main draw to this pub but the choice of tunes were a let down. At the risk of sounding like an old fart, they were played way too loudly too. The nightclub downstairs was filled with indie posers. I watched in astonishment as one girl in the toilet pulled an industrial sized can of hairspray from her bag and proceeded to spray it all over her Russell Brand style hairdo.

Yelp
Well impressed with the burger menu at Meathammer. So much to choose from as the combos sound delicious. I went for a burger with blue cheese, bacon, onions and some delicious sauce. Altogether in a brioche bun and it was a taste sensation. The only remark is that the height of the burger makes it a bit of a pain to eat. The amount is fine but it was more of a ball than a pattie, making it difficult to keep together. Sleazy's is a relaxed alternative venue and the chap that served us was a character. Good place to go with a group of friends on a night out.

Yelp
It's easy to be critical these days. The internet seems to encourage folk highlight every negative, explode them up to something of biblical proportions and decide that somewhere, someone, or something is THE. WORST. THING. EVER. This attitude nearly got me. I was all set for giving Sleazy's a 4 star review. I had decided it before I went in and the reasons were clear: it's focus has moved away from the cool underground dive bar that it used to be towards a slightly rough around the edges burger restaurant, and as a result it's lost its edge (there are families here! Table covers! Where's the pool table!). It's changed from how it used to be back in the day, and I was ready to have a moan about it. Then I sat down, spent a bit of time there, and I realised the error of my ways. Yeah, the afternoon clientele is slightly different, and it is geared up to handle the folk coming here for the burgers, but the things that made this a bar I loved all those years ago are still there. Look around, and it still has the cool subterranean feel to it - in spite of the darkness it's a really nice place to spend some time in when it's quiet. The jukebox is still phenomenal (Girls Against Boys!), it still holds eclectic club nights and gigs, and it has a good selection of beers and spirits. The staff are still on the right side on the cool & friendly v aloof hipster scale, and it's still doesn't take itself seriously - any bar that sells Kinder Surprise behind the bar is good for me. I really like all of this, and the fact that it's tweaked things a wee bit shouldn't mean that I automatically start dissing it because it's not exactly like it was 20 years ago. If you always loved Sleazy's the fact that they sell pretty damn good burgers is a bit of a bonus. If you've never been there before they are good enough to draw you there for a first visit. In an oversaturated market, and as one of the original places to do gourmet burgers it could be easy to ignore them, but they are good enough that depending on how you like your burger this could easily be someone's best burger place in Glasgow. That person will love a massive tower burger, as these are huge. I attempted to squish mine down, but eventually gave up and used cutlery - I honestly felt I would dislocate my jaw if I tried to eat it in one go. I went for the Braddock burger (basically a cheese and bacon burger) and it was great - a little hint of pink in the middle of the burger (more places should do this in my book), well cooked bacon, and a fantastic bun made this really enjoyable, good enough to break the inevitable burger boredom that I've picked up. My only real complaint would be that the chips portion is a little on the small side, which is a shame as they were extremely good. My personal tastes still put Bloc+ ahead of it, but this really isn't far behind. Nothing to be critical about then, and the world is good again...

Yelp
Someone below said that Nice n Sleazy is to Glasgow what Zeitgeist is to San Francisco. I would have to agree, except that the bartenders at the Sleazy are hella cool and thankfully do not have the bullshit hipster attitude that you often get at Zeitgeist. I was tired, I was cold, hungry and a little hungover. I was walking when I suddenly looked up and saw a sign that said, Nice n Sleazy. I thought, hell yea, now thats something I can get behind. I'll take two. All in all, the Sleazy feels like home to me.

Yelp
I don't think I've ever been in here sober, and even at that when I do end up here I should have gone home 2 hours before stepping into this place. Sleazys has been, for many years, a favoured haunt of ours for after work drinks, or after drinks drinks. The late night licence is a god send in this part of town if you don't want to go to some awful club, and the place itself is somewhat of an institution. It also sells some very nice beer and last night I was propping up te bar with a bottle of caledonia's Golden Promise - a beautiful drink if you haven't tried it before. Part of me wants to go into Sleazys and enjoy it in the early evening, but then part of me doesn't. I like the fact that even though I've been in countless occassions I don't know the colour of the walls...or the price of the drink!

Yelp
On Monday evenings at Sleazy's you'll find the best open mic night in the city, with free beer for performers and everything from old-time crooners to improvised comedy rap, with plenty of singing and strumming in between. It's the most eclectic and impressive open mic night I've been to and is well worth attending for an evening of entertainment from Glasgow's most weird and wonderful.

Yelp
Seem to be in this place quite a lot. Mostly for the Burgers. Need the stomach lined before a pub crawl or a good few drinks then this place does the trick. Also not too bad for the drink itself. Burger wise the selection has maybe 10 burgers but the ingredients will leave you feeling like you have read a sumptuous novel. Prices range from £7 - 9 you pay for the quality. You also get 2 or 3 on the blackboard as you walk in, the specials. I go for one of these. The Lucretia, took me a while to be able to pronounce it. You have the burger pretty good, pulled pork exciting, chorizo salivating, chilli jam rocks my world then they add burnt pineapple. Stops you in your tracks but in the end it works. Prefer burgers that you can pick up and bite. These are almost too tall, and can be extremely messy. Though 1 time I managed to eat the whole thing no mess. Drink wise it is maybe a little pricey but has some deals on that can get you through and also has the white russian route. Often when I'm there it is a little to early for that. Punters of all variety, not the old man pub though. Music is alright a bit out there at times though. Good for a little change. The odd scribble on the walls can keep your eyes occupied for a time. Definitely go there to at least try a burger. tick it off the list.

Yelp
I love Sleazies. It's not particularly nice or sleazy, but I'm not going to sue them for false advertising. They have a great bar, and the food is pretty decent but the real appeal is the music. It's the sort of place you will find the alternative crowd with most musicians bearing the influence of Glasgow's Mogwai. I've seen some of the band in here before actually, with other musicians from other Glasgow bands on Rock Action. The jukebox is awesome, and there are gigs on in here downstairs regularly that are always worth checking, mainly alternative noise. Mainly a music venue for me, or a pre/post gig pub, but an all round great place that's well worth investigating if you are up on Sauchiehall Street. £2 for a White Russian is also great and pleases the Big Lebowski fan in me!

Yelp
This is a nice place. But the thing that annoys me, is their quiz. They need to introduce the app for the quiz. Because when you are doing it the old fashioned. Way on paper. You see teams on their mobile phones cheating that both my friend and myself have reported before. While they are on the next question, someone is searching for the answer from the question before on their mobiles. I know some might say it's a game. I hate losing. But to lose to people that you clearly can't win against, unless you cheat yourself is bad. Please update it to the app. Nothing worst than a group of friends coming out, to lose to cheaters. Apart from that. Everything is great with this place. Great hangout place, esp being so close to the Garage. And the staff are always speedy to serve, and very polite.

Yelp
I thought my days at Sleazy's were over, but just recently, I've been hanging with a friend who loves it. So, I now find myself in the bar, clubbing until around 3, and experiencing the part of the bar that is not a gig venue. A few years ago, this was the in venue for hipsters. The mighty Arab Strap performed here, and it was the venue of choice for small, yet cool, local bands. Part of it must be the atmosphere- the crowd packed tightly, the small downstairs bar, with brilliant service and cheap drink prices. It was small enough to let the fans get close, and their policy of multiple bands on the same night made it value for money as well as cool. The proliferation of other venues in the area has damped this down. The venue is still for scene kids, but the scenes are more fragmented. However, if you like hip-hop, they support that far more than any of the other name venues of the same scale. Of course, the bar is hip: 1970s vibe, cool jukebox, achingly trendy staff and the same fair prices. It can be intimate, if you get a table, but fills up, even midweek, by about 10. They also turn the music up around then, to give a more busy atmosphere. You can still talk over the tunes, but usually end up talking about the music! The clubs downstairs range from funk to rock: always busy, and attracting cool people not really attached to any of the other scenes (techno and the like are dealt with at the Sub Club or Soundhaus). It is a good, general disco for people who don't like chart tunes on most nights. I am getting a bit old for Sleazy's, but still retain my affection for the bar. It is Glasgow's rock'n'roll hub, and a good place to people watch.
