If you’re looking for a bar that hits that perfect sweet spot between "sophisticated cocktail lounge" and "neighborhood hangout," Nick and Nora is it! I swung by recently with some family members, and we were genuinely impressed by how they’ve managed to nail everything! The lighting and decor make it feel instantly welcoming. It’s very stylish, with retro pics on the wall themed to the ‘Nick and Nora’ characters from the Thin Man Series (1930’s and 40’s). I never watched that show, but coming here got me intrigued! Their drink selection was spot-on. From inventive house signatures, to the classics (my wife raved about their espresso martinis), while I dabbled in their beer selection and a couple of old fashioned cocktails. Their drink quality was high-end, but their prices were surprisingly reasonable. The bartenders were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. I met Mike, the owner, who was very pleasant and accommodating. Usually, finding a great bar means a nightmare for your car, but not here. The location at the top of the hill is convenient, and unlike most spots in the area, parking availability was actually a breeze. (There’s free parking directly to the right of the bar). I know it’s a weird thing to put in a review, but the bathrooms were spotless. It says a lot about how a place is run when they pay attention to those small details. The bottom line is…Nick and Nora had great drinks, great people, and zero stress. I’ll definitely be back!
