I sorta don't get the point of take-n-bake if it's not cheaper than pizza served to you in house. Seriously, why pay the same price for pizza you have to take home, cook yourself, and do all the dishes for? Nick-N-Willy's take-n-bake is not appreciably cheaper than any higher-quality pie you can get in a restaurant.
But it IS good. I'll admit that. Their crust is probably my favorite in town, and their fun, off-the-wall combinations cater directly to my tastebuds. I don't really like the run-of-the-mill mozzarella, tomato sauce, pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms thing. I like my pizza with a twist; pesto sauce, white sauce, chicken, spinach, goat cheese, brie, pineapple, BBQ sauce, whatever. Nick-N-Willy's offers one or two of these twists at a time, making the pizzas appetizing to me without allowing me to go totally crazy and order a feta-pineapple-bacon-sundried-tomato-alfredo pizza and then regret it later.
Last time I went I was with two friends and we decided to order the extra-large - I think it was called the Mountain Goat or something (it's not on their website so I have to guess). Anyway, it had goat cheese, mozzarella, chicken, garlic, and some other stuff, but the operative ingredient for all of us was goat cheese. We ordered the pizza and were hanging around waiting for it to be ready, when the girl behind the counter goes, 'Actually, we're out of goat cheese, is there another kind of cheese you want on it?'
The pizza was already made, so they didn't offer us the option of ordering a different pizza. We just had to choose another cheese. They gave us samples of the feta and the fontina, and we chose the feta.
Personally, I think that if you're out of an ingredient, you should tell the customer BEFORE their pizza is already made so they have the option of ordering something else. And if you accidentally screw up and don't do that, you should give the customer a small discount on their order. They didn't do either. We were charged full price, which is not a huge deal, but sort of rubbed me the wrong way.
I'd go back though, but probably just for slices, since the pizza is so tasty and it's right down the hill from my house (and across the street from Spruce Confections, where I can get a delicious dessert cupcake afterward!)
