Lovely little restaurant with absolutely fantastic service! The food was good - particularly the bread, salad, and steak kebob. We also had delicious sparkling wine. Just be aware of the super low lighting (it's pretty dark...we have young eyes, and even we struggled a tad). Centrally located near many shops and easy to navigate around downtown Cottonwood.

The food is great! And the servings are very generous. Our waiter (Eric) was also very friendly. My piece of lasagna was as long as my fork. This place was full to the max. Very popular spot. Our drinks were also amazing and the ingredients were fresh.

We had the best dining experience on Valentine's Day 2025, which was well worth the time waiting for a table. The restaurant was extremely busy and all we saw was smiling faces, from the hostess to the bartender, Kennedy the waitress, the bus persons and the Host. Once we were seated the service was prompt and efficient and our dinner was delicious as always. Awesome! We love Nic's restaurant, it never disappoints us and we will return. Thank you.

First night in Cottonwood and we stopped at Nic’s for dinner. We’re a group of four that went to UND College of Nursing 37 years ago and catching up with we weekend in AZ. I had the fish and chips and a glass of wine and it was delicious. Others had steak and shrimp and the lobster ravioli and they raved about their meals too. Service from Faith was A+! Great atmosphere and great food and service!!

My fiancè and I went here last night near closing time. It was the first time being here, we found it last minute, and this place is amazing. We ordered take out and waited at the last two bar seats while it was made (it was packed). Drinks were amazing! Food was incredible! Im very picky because I am a really good cook and she typically has to hear me complain and say I could do way better and I get upset because its a waste of money 😅. Even with our food in take out driven 30 min back to a friends house the food was 11/10. I didnt get pictures unfortunately, but I will be going here everytime I visit. HIGHLY recommend. ***Update- we went back the next day and it was amazing again! Snagged some pictures this round! Definitely make a stop here if you are in town! We got: Pasta Primavera with Marinara Salmon with veggies Clam Chowder Braised Beef Roulade w/Loaded Baked Potato Kebab Dessert

Excellent place for a special dinner. Our server, Matteo was exceptional. We had the Artichoke and Spinach Bruchetta as an appetizer followed by Chicken Parmesan and Pasta Primavera with Shrimp as entrees. The food was fantastic. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Google
Requested med rare steak and it came med-med well. The server did offer to remake but I declined as I didn't want my meal returning once my guest were done with their meal. When paying today's prices I expect my meal to be prepared correctly the first time.

Google
We stopped by this restaurant on Christmas Eve literally because no other restaurants were open around 7 pm. But guess what! This is our best choice during our stay. The crab cake is perfectly delicious and my favorite one is the clam spaghetti. This is the first time in my life I ate the whole plate even the sauce! This is definitely a MUST try restaurant.

Yelp
My family and I decided to try this place based on all the great reviews and Nic's lives up to them! Definitely worth the hour drive just to come for dinner! We arrived 5 minutes before opening and there was already a line forming outside the doors. My husband and I took this as a good sign, but also noted to be sure to get there even earlier next time. We were sat quickly and our server was so kind and attentive. We got our food and drinks in a good amount of time. We brought our two year old son who can be a picky eater but he loved his spaghetti with marinara. I got the shrimp scampi which had jumbo shrimp and a good amount, my husband got a ribeye. All of us left happy with our food and full bellies. We decided this will be our new go to spot for special occasions or when we want a good dinner.

Yelp
This place was open and we were hungry so we decided to try it out. It was surprisingly busy but they managed to find us a table quicker than expected. The dining area had a ton of booths, and to get to the bathroom, it looked like you had to nearly walk into the kitchen lol. The food was a bit on the expensive side, but not unreasonable. Everything I had was good and the portions were generous, nothing blew me away though. The service was good, and they did a good job of explaining the menu. I would try this place again in the future.

Yelp
Just another disappointing Italian restaurant. How can an Italian restaurant serve bread and olive oil and the "toasted" dry, cold bread be completely flavorless? I had been told that their steaks were incomparable. Well, they were something all right. While the bone in ribeye steak ( the most expensive item on the menu)was cooked to the proper temperature, it wasn't properly seasoned with salt, and that's coming from a person that has been on a low salt diet for more than a year. Also, there was so much garlic and olive oil that I couldn't actually taste the beef. Also, how do you cook a baked potato in foil and end up with a touch, inedible skin? I should know better than to believe folks that recommend food that they don't cook themselves, but once again I fooled myself into thinking that a highly reviewed restaurant actually cares about the food they serve. Nicks doesn't have to care because the place was packed the minute they opened. But, if you care about the taste of your food, and you like to cook for yourself, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. I'm just so tired of complaining about crappy restaurant food. I will mention that an assistant manager noticed I didn't finish my cocktail (also terrible) or my steak and discounted our bill for the drink and half the steak. So, kudos for that, I guess. I don't want to be that diner that has to question every step of the food preparation process and ask for specific things to be done in the kitchen for the preparation of my meal. I'll just stay home and cook for myself. It's less disappointing that way.

Yelp
We were visiting Cottonwood and this place was recommended to us by a local. We noticed how busy it was and didn't think we were going to get a table and thought the food must be good to be that crowded. It was dark and cozy inside, and had a lovely decor. We were seated within minutes, our attentive server explained the menu to us and brought out some delicious focaccia bread and olive oil. We started our order with soup, chicken lentil and clam chowder, then ordered the shrimp scampi and carbonara with chicken for our entree. The portions was huge and everything was delicious. The food was reasonably priced. I highly recommend this place and I am looking forward to my next visit.

Yelp
While in Cottonwood we decided to give Nick's a try. Friday night at six we walked in and got a table. Don't get me wrong it was busy, but a constant turn over had it moving. Our waitress was great. Attentive but not too much. Now let's get to the food. Toasted Ravioli was good. The amount of cheese inside of them is crazy. The sauce was super good. Clam chowder was SO GOOD. Entrees come with soup or salad so, get the soup. My entree was the special. Cedar planked salmon. It was good but dry and the sweet potatoes were cold. And well looked pretty phallic (apparently I'm a child). My friend had the fettuccini and I was envious. The wood work inside is impressive and I loved the building. I'd totally go again and eat something different and get the chowder

Yelp
I love this restaurant and had to write a review to let everyone know how amazing the food is and drinks. Jessie was such a wonderful bar tender. He paired my food so well with the wine he recommended. Everyday they have a running special. The decor is tasteful. Plenty of seating The Tuesday special is my personal fav. 2 for 55 filet dinner is such a steal. They each come with your choice soup or salad and pasta. I absolutely love the trio crème brûlée to finish off the party in my belly

Yelp
We made a trip to Cottonwood for a day trip and decided to eat an Italian meal. I was very impressed with this restaurant. I loved the atmosphere inside, it was very rustic and comfortable. The wait staff was incredible they were friendly and efficient and knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered the chicken saltimbocca which was absolutely amazing. The garden salad was crisp and fresh and the dressing was delicious too. Fresh Italian bread was served with a meal and it was outstanding. I ordered the risotto as my side dish and let me just say that Chef Gordon Ramsay would be absolutely impressed with what they served. The meatballs were also outstanding. My wife ordered those as a side. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are in the Cottonwood Arizona area.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of dining at Nic's Steak and Seafood in Cottonwood, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a warm and inviting ambiance. The restaurant has a cozy yet upscale feel, with rustic touches that give it a charming, intimate atmosphere. The lighting is soft, and the decor strikes the perfect balance between modern and classic, making it an ideal setting for both casual dinners and special occasions. The service was impeccable. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and made excellent recommendations throughout our meal. She made sure we had everything we needed while letting us enjoy our meal at a comfortable pace. As for the food--wow. The highlight was definitely the crab. We started with the crab cakes, and they were absolutely delicious--perfectly crispy on the outside and packed with tender, flavorful crab inside. For the main course, I had the seafood platter, which was a great mix of fresh shellfish, and the crab legs were the star. Tender, sweet, and perfectly seasoned, they were everything I hoped for and more. Nic's also offers a great selection of steaks, which my dining companion raved about. The combination of top-quality ingredients and expert preparation really sets this place apart. All in all, Nic's Steak and Seafood is a must-visit if you're in Cottonwood. The food, service, and ambiance come together for an exceptional dining experience. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Here for the train ride and decided to stop by this restaurant for some drinks, appetizers and dinner. Let me start by saying the clam chowder is amazing! We had Calamari, and the cheese platter... the calamari was amazing as well. But the cheese board was just OK for dinner. We had steak and sautéed veggies. The steak was very well-made, and the veggies were excellent. We also have the pasta carbonara, and that was off the chart delicious and we cleaned our plates. They also offer bread with some dipping oil. That was nice. It came with fresh baked bread. This place is very busy so try to make a reservation if you can. It has a great atmosphere and the service is outstanding. When we're back in Clarksdale again we're sure to stop by. NOTE: they are only open for dinner from 5pm on. Thanks for the good eats...

Yelp
Service was incredible. We had a party of 11, we're able to call in for a reservation so no waiting. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The manager came over multiple times. We celebrated my Grandmas 94th bday and they decorated the plate! It was the cherry on top of a GREAT EVENING! THANKS Nic for making my Grandmas night special. The Fleischer Family.

Yelp

Yelp
Our second trip here. We love this place. Everything is so good. Ordered the shrimp cocktail and got like seven of them. You never see that. Lobster and butter was really good , and steak was not as good as last time but still pretty good. The staff there is always very friendly and they bring your food out very quick. I love the bar area really cool looking.

Yelp
We are in town for the holidays. We went and got all our groceries for Christmas and didn't even think about what we would do for dinner Christmas Eve! We ended up at this restaurant. They were very busy but we only waited about 20 minutes. Every single thing we ordered was amazing and the service was fantastic. I was really surprised about this little hidden gem. Every steak was cooked to perfection. The risotto was absolutely delicious and the service was fantastic. Definitely an establishment ran like a well oiled machine Highly recommend!!

Yelp
Celebrated our anniversary in Cottonwood and we had heard good things about Nic's so we decided to try it for our anniversary dinner and so glad we did. The ambiance was romantic, the service was outstanding and the food was delicious!! If we're ever in the area again, we will definitely go back.

Yelp
Amazing food and service - a little pricy but worth it. The triple crem brûlée is a must try

Yelp
We were up visiting from the valley and decided to do date night. The food was amazing the drinks were even better I had the old fashion mocktails and it was sooooooo good we can't wait to come back next trip

Yelp
Food was great as always, but only three stars as the service was absent this time. We got there early as they just opened and were seated promptly, then they forgot about us for half an hour until they came for drink orders. The server apologized and said there had been a mixup on table assignments. He then took our appetizer and dinner orders. Our stuffed mushrooms came out after a while and were good. Then crickets. No bread, no water, finally our salads came after we had been there close to an hour. After another half hour waiting, while other tables around us were served and finished their dinners, we called for the manager. He apologized and said the same thing about a mixup on table assignments, and our dinners appeared miraculously in a couple minutes. The meals were great and Nic's never disappoints on the quality of the food. While the manager checked back again and apologized again, it ended there- no comped meal or appetizer. I understand about the "table assignment mixup", it happens, but once the problem was noticed, the service was still sub-par. While I've always had great meals at Nic's, next time we are in Cottonwood we will try someplace else.

Yelp
Awesome food and service. Willow was our server and she was awesome. We luckily got here right before the rush and it is busy but she was attentive the whole time

Yelp
I wish I remembered to take a photo because I am going to struggle to describe how amazing this place is! The food is superb, the attention to detail and flavor combinations plus the presentation is of the highest quality. The owners are so warm and friendly, but never took their eyes off the ball. Paula was our server and she knew exactly what she was doing, she was incredible and made us feel like we were her most important customers. The entire staff worked so well together. In fact Nics is so good there is a line to get in every night! Don't worry they get everyone seated within minutes. But I suggest you get there by 5pm when they open or it's about a 30 minute wait. It's worth the wait!!! I like the atmosphere too, it's cozy with a bit of an upscale feel, I would be comfortable in jeans or a dress. The booths are nice and big and very comfy. They have a beautiful bar with high tops and tables to accommodate large groups as well. And last but not least, their Berry Napoleon dessert is to die for!!!

Yelp
Ambiance was lovely, wasn't expecting it being in a small town and all. Food was great, clam chowder was one of the better ones I've had. Ribs were tender and delicious and the loaded baked potato was made perfectly. My wife got their special for that night, a crab meat stuffed white fish with lobster sauce and risotto which made me regret my choice at first. Luckily my wife made me eat her leftovers anyway. Would recommend!

Yelp
In town right after Christmas for hiking and stayed at the Iron Horse which is a very short walk. We did make a reservation because this place is always packed this time of year and we know why... love the vibe. Great service and very cozy. We sat and water and bread/oil delivered promptly as well as greeted by our friendly server. The place was hoppin We ordered cocktails and dinner. Chicken piccata for me and a baked potato - I know I skipped the pasta but I loved my potato. Crispy skin and moist filling. Not sure why I wanted a baked potato but it made me happy. The chicken was very moist and tender. The sauce was light and delicate and plenty of capers which I very much enjoy. I also always add a slice of lemon. Good stuff. Would order again. The BF ordered shrimp and fries - weird right! But I ordered a baked potato so touché he said. He was happy and enjoyed his meal. Next time - I want to try spaghetti and meatballs...

Yelp
Wednesday night was bustling. This was 1/2 price bottle night (in Spring 2024). We met friends for dinner and wine. My Lady ordered lasagna and I went with the chicken marsala. We bought a bottle of montepulciano, which is fruity and balanced. It all went together perfectly. We split a berry napoleon for dessert. The room was packed to capacity, yet the staff was fast and friendly. It was a warm atmosphere. I liked the wood panels, club style lighting, and copper ceiling. All in all, it was a marvelous experience.
google avatar

Yelp
Are you kidding me. Nic's is the best. Nastaliq! Crab Legs are to die for. Don't order them... I want to make sure they never sell out for me when I am in Town.
google avatar

Yelp
Nic's is an incredible classic Italian restaurant. The staff were very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. It had an old school NYC vibe. The food was excellent from the Clam chowder, the carbonara, the angel hair pasta pomodoro or to the huge slice of lasagna. Everything was perfect. When I'm in Sedona this is the Italian establishment I'm going to. The pictures don't do it justice.
google avatar

Yelp
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here. It's our go to spot for a nice night out. The food was spectacular, again. I had a delicious vodka gimlet and my wife had a lemon drop. I went with a filet because I added a lobster tail. I had the salad with blue cheese dressing. Perfect. My filet was cooked to my preference and I enjoyed it. The lobster tail was splendid. Nic's is one of the very few restaurants outside of coastal Maine that can deliver lobster that tastes like lobster. I highly recommend either their baked potatoes or Parmesan risotto for sides. Because of our anniversary, Nic's kindly comp'd us a cannoli dessert--epic. Our server was a bit green but she quickly made corrections, like lemon and butter for the lobster. All in all a great evening.
google avatar

Keith G.

Yelp
4 of us came for dinner Sunday night after VCRR train ride. Wives had the lobster ($45) which was a steal. Guys had 16 oz Rib Eye and 8 oz Sirloin. All were fantastic and devoured! Acouple dirty martini's went with the lobsters and a malbec and beefeater martini went with the steaks. When we walked in the smells were fantastic! We will be back for a Tuesday special soon. Our only regret is the drive over Mingus at night,
google avatar

Marcy A.

Yelp
We went to Nic's for my birthday and it was a good experience! I had the cannelloni and my boyfriend had the sirloin. Both dishes were very tasty. The service was great and the ambience was nice too. They even gave me a cannoli for dessert for my birthday. We will be back next time we're in Cottonwood!
google avatar

Casey J.

Yelp
We stopped in for dinner - the place was packed and is obviously well-loved by locals. Our server was busy but attentive, the atmosphere inside is moody and cozy, and the food was good. They offer daily specials, so definitely check those out so you can snag a deal. We got the Tuesday filet special (2 filet dinners for $55) and a flight of creme brûlée (my favorite!) for dessert. I'm giving four stars instead of five because service was a bit slow and the food was good, but not outstanding.
google avatar

Sheryl R.

Yelp
The service is wonderful! Historic Cottonwood is just awesome! We both had Italian menu options and very impressed! We both had leftovers for to go boxes. Not a morsel was wasted. We enjoyed our leftovers as much as our original meal.

Yelp
I was very impressed The fresh Italian bread excellent Fresh olive oil garlic basil mix great flavor Wife had chicken Alfredo meat was juicy and tender, even she had no complaints for once.. I had the clam chowder and it was the best I had in a long time. The lasagna was great Staff excellent and very attentive I would definitely go here again.

Anthony P.

Yelp
The food was outstanding! The Italian bread with olive oil and garlic (seasoned) was delicious and irresistible! We had the Caesar Salad and stuffed mushrooms to start. Both were amazing. For our main course my lovely wife and I shared the ribeye. Everything came out perfectly cooked and still hot at the table. I steak was the best thing I had for dinner during the entire week. Go there and enjoy authentic Italian cuisine. Go now!

Yelp
I've been before but didn't write a review. I was here with my friends celebrating my birthday. Service is always great and the crowd lively. I think the prices are very good and quality of food wonderful. We all had something different and everything was exceptional!! The dessert... Tiramisu was outstanding. Such a great place. Will be back again very soon.

Yelp
Really like this place, food is very good and reasonably priced for the total experience.

Yelp
My husband and I have been going there on our anniversary for the past 4 years, which is April 5th. We will be there this Friday because the food and the service are both outstanding. The atmosphere is really romantic too. We can't wait for Friday!! Yay....I don't have to cook that night

Yelp
We ordered the eggplant Parmesan and it was delicious. The bread they brought prior to the meal was yummy. Servíce was excellent. Highly recommend!

Yelp
We were told this place had the best steak in all of Arizona. I'll tell you it had a lot of great things about it but the steak was not one of them. We thought the bread and olive oil was very tasty - the sourdough was not overtly sour and the olive oil seemed to had an aftertaste of dandelion or something similar. It was light and refreshing. Our salads were fine and the house-made blue cheese dressing was tasty. My entree was really quite nice and the lobster tail we shared was the best part of our meal, in my opinion. Several of the clams in my entree were grainy / sandy. My spouse's steak was a bit rough and chewy; we were glad we ordered mushrooms and onions to accompany. We finished with the three crème brûlée flight: vanilla, chocolate, and mango. The mango was so very subtle, the vanilla was pretty average in every capacity, and the chocolate was quite potent. The chocolate however had the only crystallized top that was satisfying to break though, although because the flavor was so strong, neither of us could finish it. The atmosphere and ambiance were pleasant and warm. Friendly staff and servers alike. It wasn't long before your water was refilled or plates were cleared and usually performed by a random staff member who was passing by. Bad marks were for our server not knowing if there were any specials, the soup of the day, what kind of lobster was being served, and the flavors of the creme brûlée, the grittiness of some of the clams in my dish, the texture of the steak and the contrast of the creme brûlée flavors. But honestly everything else was quite positive.

Yelp
Such a great vibe! The food was so good and the service....they were on top of it. We truly felt cared for at Nic's!

Bruce J.

Yelp
Needed somewhere to eat labor day weekend and traffic into Sedona was crazy so we went to Nick's in Cottonwood. We had linguine with shrimp and the ravioli. The linguine was good but the ravioli was way too thick. For what the meal was it was overpriced. The staff w Was great.
google avatar

Yelp
Service A++++ Food A++++ Drinks A++++ Honestly, one of the best restaurants I've been to in my entire life!!! I've been dreaming of the shrimp scampi since I went last year and it did not disappoint! It's lemony. It's creamy. The shrimp is savory! We love everything about this restaurant. Super delicious Espresso Martinis as well! Cottonwood is amazing all around and I can't wait to go back!!!

Yelp
I had to get a good meal for my 97 year old French friend and he needed it to be somewhat healthy. He decided on fish and Nic's came up. Great menu, plenty of fish to choose from and it tasted great. I had a salmon pomodoro dish and my friend had the baked cod. We enjoyed both. I also had a nice smoky margarita while waiting for the carry out. I didn't get to experience the service much, but the bartender was nice. My friend who I was getting food for said that he and his wife used to eat there quite a bit and it's always been good. It was my first time and I enjoyed the food.

Carrieanne W.

Yelp
So bummed! We have been coming here for years as a Phoenix getaway. No flavor and service was just so so. Definitely a negative experience! What happened???
google avatar

Lindsay S.

Yelp
My sister got married and we had 15 people in the back party room to enjoy a meal together. It was dark and somewhat cramped but it worked as there aren't many restaurants in Cottonwood that can accommodate a large group. Oh yeah and the food was awesome! We also had a newer server but he ended up being great. We waited about 20 min before seeing a server even for water, but we were patient as they were packed in the restaurant. Appetizers- we ordered a few Crostini boards for the table right away and they were overall pretty tasty. Crabby mac n cheese- not my favorite as it reminded me of a tuna helper. (I tried this as my mom ordered it) Entrees- I think we found the best things on the menu ! Mahi-Mahi Roma: ok... this sounded interesting on paper and it exceeded our expectations! Definitely a foodgasm and we are craving it as I am reminiscing about it from April! We got it with the Parmesan risotto and it was a match made in heaven! Get it!! I want more! The risotto was cooked perfectly and I can't even describe what was happening in my mouth while eating the mahi roma and risotto together... crave worthy and for sure the best thing I ate in Cottonwood. Clams Portofino- light pasta dish with yummy clams. It was really good, but the mahi roma hit all the spots. Overall, I will be back here and getting the Mahi Mahi Roma if I lived closer, but when back in AZ I will venture here again for it!!
