This small hotel is probably the Nr. 1 in Schwerin Old Town. You can feel the personal dedication to every detail by the owner ladies. And the friendly service by the staff. The Niederländischer Hof provides an elegant yet cozy atmosphere overall. Great view from the breakfast room over the Pfaffenteich lake. My favorite was the Kaminzimmer (library with fire place) where I could indulge in my Romeo y Julieta. This is definitely the only place for aficionados in Schwerin!

We has a magical stay in Schwerin at this hotel. It was a beautiful hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Our room were large and beautiful and the lake view room on the 3rd floor has an amazing view. Just a short walk to the old city and the castle. I would highly recommend this hotel to all visiting Schwerin.

I highly recommend this individual, family-run hotel with 24 rooms, breakfast room, outdoor patio, a small bar and a cosy chimney room.||This hotel is equipped with traditional English furniture and offers comfortable Single-, Double- and Triple-rooms and Junior Suites with living room area.|Marble bathrooms.|My single room with direct sea view was comfortable, but no air-condition, because the building is landmarked.||During my visit, one week, staff was extremely friendly and attentive. Restaurant recommendations completely fulfilled my expectations. ||They offer a reliable in-house laundry service: I gave my shirts before 9am and received them back same-day afternoon. ||In the evening, I visited the bar for a drink (or two) and got outstanding hospitality by very engaged hosts. |Value for money is good here.

The hotel is old fashioned and with a very cosy and intimate style. Only 24 rooms. We had no 303 which is a socalled junior suite (but one big room only). We had the view to the little inner lake, very nice.||The room was well equipped with seating arrangements and a desk for work. Fine bathroom. Clean everywhere.||Morning buffet adequate and with good selection. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed (for good mayby?)||The staff was very positive and friendly. There was a nice atmosphere in the hotel.||Parking space at 10 eur per night in the closed backyard.||The WiFi could be better - it was difficult sometimes to get connection, and there was several "fall outs".||But we enjoyed being in Hotel Niederländischer Hof

This is a nice quaint hotel with a nice view overlooking the Pfaffenteich (a man-made pond) in Schwerin, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. It is about a 5 minute walk from the train station. When booking a 3-night stay, I requested a room with a walk-in shower and a view overlooking the pond and was given it. ||||The bed was moderately comfortable although the pillows were not really comfortable for my liking. Despite that the window curtains did not close and there was very little street noise, making for reasonably comfortable sleeping. The bathroom was very clean, well-maintained, and had the usual toiletries, which were not replenished daily. There are lots of power outlets around the room. Room lighting is somewhat on the dark side, as least in my room. No lamp lighting at the desk so I moved a floor lamp to the desk.||||In my room, the closet safe was not bolted down so that a thief could just carry off with it. There was also an ironing board/iron and a minibar. The internet although free, worked sporadically with both my mobile and laptop, often with slow loading/connecting times – however there is a terminal free to use in the lobby. There is a small bar/lounge area adjacent to the lobby.||||The breakfast was average but filling. However, the hotel’s best feature is its restaurant for dinner – excellent dishes and service.||||I found the desk staff to be very pleasant and helpful in answering questions and offering helpful suggestions. Would book again if only to enjoy dinner there.

Schwerin is a beautiful city and right in the heart along the lake is this fabulous old hotel. Lots of charm and character. The lobby is small but elegant and they have an old elevator to help get your luggage upstairs (or you can take that stairs).||||We asked for quiet and unfortunately that meant a view of their back parking lot. On the flip side, it was super quiet (it was also at the end of the hall). The room is a good size with a four poster bed and elegant writing table in front of the large windows.||||The bed was hard and could use an extra mattress support. The taps were rather squeaky which did get annoying when one used the bathroom at night. However these were the only faults we found. Our sleep was super quiet.||||We were offered a welcome drink of port wine (nice touch) which we had in their small but elegant bar. The lobby was actually very comfortable to sit and relax. ||||We decided not to go for breakfast but the dining room looked very nice. Unfortunately their restaurant was closed for the season. Too bad because we heard it was good.||||Walking is a key feature here. One could walk to the old town or up to the train station or better yet walk along the treed lined lake across the street. There is a lot going in this historic town, including this hotel.

We stayed here for one night. The rooms and bathrooms are very nice and spacious and are comfortable. The reception area is homely and the bar and the chimney room are very cosy. The barman concocted an interesting drink - strawberry gin - which was really quite nice. The restaurant is very pretty. If you stay here, you must have breakfast. Such a wide selection of tempting treats are on offer. Dinner was pleasant, but did not reach the expected standard. Parking facilities are available on the premises. The hotel staff made you feel very welcome. Some of the upper class guests, however, seemed to feel a little disturbed by the presence of middle class guests.

An interesting hotel. First, its location is very good. A couple minutes walk from the Hbf, and from there, an easy stroll into the town centre. It's older, but the rooms have been brought up to modern standards, whilst retaining the charm of older furniture (see photo). I found my room to be comfortable with a great view. The wifi was terrible though.||Checkin was no problem with the staff having a far better command of English compared to my German. Polite and efficient.||There is a restaurant (I didn't go) a separate breakfast room, bar and lounge, all comfortable. Breakfast is continental, but Omelettes and scrambled egg dishes can be ordered.||Although there are steps from the street, there is a lift inside. ||I liked this place a lot, and it justifies its claimed 4*. But, sort the wifi!
