I stopped by this store the other day with my partner, and let me tell you, we got the cold shoulder from the moment we walked in. There was no greeting, no "welcome" or anything - the staff just gave us these weird looks up and down, like they couldn't believe we had the nerve to step foot in their store.
Now, my partner and I like to stay on top of the latest fashion trends, so we were dressed to the nines. But the staff acted like we didn't belong there at all. The vibe was super unwelcoming, and I couldn't help but feel like our non-Japanese Asian faces had something to do with it. Isn't a basic greeting the bare minimum you'd expect from a retail place, especially in Japan?
Anyway, the whole visit just left a bad taste in my mouth. I read some other reviews from fellow non-Japanese Asian customers who had similar experiences, so it seems like this kind of discriminatory treatment is an issue. I won't be going back, and I'd warn other international Asian shoppers to be prepared for a less-than-pleasant time if they decide to check this place out. Businesses need to do better at making all customers feel welcome, no matter what they look like. This one's clearly dropped the ball on that front.
