I went to the Philippines last month with 8 guys and they let me pick the hotel so long as was fun and in the middle of everything. Nigi Nigi was exactly that!
Nigi is right in the heart of Station 2 - where all the action is. It's located on White Beach with a restaurant that faces the ocean and the main path so you can enjoy your freshly pressed coffee in the morning with the most breathtaking ocean view. The hotel itself is really cool. It feels like you're walking through a jungle when heading to your hut. I will warn you - you will get lost! haha especially after a few rum and cokes BUT eventually you'll find your way through.
Right from the start the staff was friendly and helpful, welcoming us with a fresh fruit smoothie while we waited for our room to be ready. (we were early) The rooms/huts are a nice size and very clean. The have all the amenities required (ac, stocked fridge, safe, shampoo, cond, soap, lotion, toothbrush, tooth paste, towels, beach towels) and plenty of bottled water as it is NOT safe to drink the tap water ever in the Philippines - seriously don't even brush your teeth with it. The wifi in the room was OK not perfect - but I was on vacation so it did the job when needed. Each afternoon the rooms were cleaned and they arrange the towels in the cutest different shapes and animals. I think it would be great for romantic getaway. I guess it was kind of a romantic getaway for my husband and I - apart from the other 7 dudes. :P
Their restaurant is excellent! You get free breakfast vouchers for each morning and the options were great! ie: all you can eat eggs, bacon, toast, FRESH fruit, FRESHLY squeezed juice, and FRESHLY brewed coffee. In fact they bring out the coffee press so you can do it yourself to the strength you prefer. I seriously looked forward to breakfast each day.
Now the service in the restaurant is slow - I will say that BUT keep in mind it's the Philippines and I guess it didn't bother us too much because we were having so much fun. Truthfully if we didn't receive slow service literally everywhere we went perhaps I'd have been more upset but
you just have to take it for what it is and go with it. One day we stayed at the same table in the restaurant from 10:30 am to 11:00 pm (taking turns coming and going from the beach) and our bill was ONLY $400 Canadian - for 9 people!! We were eating and drinking and doing shots and were shocked how cheap it was!
From the hotel you can easily walk towards station 1 if you go right or station 3 if you go left. Heading to the right you'll come across tons of restaurants and night life. It's so easy to bar hop and makes the night really fun and easy if you just want to go where ever the wind takes you. If you go left - heading to station 3 you will find it's a little sleeper that way. Still great restaurants and shops but no nightlife.
PS : When leaving Nigi go directly left and right next door there's a place to get massages. They cost $500 pesos - roughly $15 CA for an hour. Get one! Trust me, they have skills! You can also go further to the left and get a massage on the beach for $350 pesos.
Overall I loved our stay at Nigi Nigi and would definitely recommend it!
