This hotel is a great choice for backpackers but is truly a 3-star hotel. The location is very convenient which makes it the biggest reason to stay here. The staff were friendly but their service was alright, like you get the vibe that they are just doing their job. They don’t have many people, so when I ordered a breakfast meal I had to wait more than 30 minutes. The facilities were all clean and ok, but the bathroom (or the entire room, really) is a bit too damp...and I could see the ceiling becoming moldy. The kitchen or the open cafe area is pretty small/cozy so when they are preparing food it can quickly become “smelly”. Check-in is only after 15:00 and there are no staff around after 20:30 but they do have a number you can call.

The room was tiny. Also they charge you few weeks before check in time the entire amount of the room and at check in they “cancel” the old transaction and charge you the room fee again. This doesn’t make any sense. The money of the canceled transaction remains anyway blocked for 30 days and the transaction fees are (of course) not paid back by your bank.. We asked if they could simply take the money of the first transaction and they said no, that it’s not possible.. we really didn’t like this. We staid in plenty other hotels in taiwan and this was the only property to have the..

Excellent, friendly staff with good English. Excellent location right beside Da’an station (red, yellow line) which has easy access to everywhere (also walkable distance to blue line). Little cute cafe which serves as lobby area that was always busy with locals. I didn’t eat there so don’t know re food, etc but always had a lovely vibe. Quiet area but few good restaurants nearby; Plants (vegan, mixed cuisine, great!), Chán Shífān (great Izakaya with delicious yakitori, chill vibes, English menus and opens late). Rooms were small but clean and functional. Bed was very comfortable. I had standard double and I wouldn’t have liked to have to share it (bed against wall, very little space to move about and no storage space). But was fine for one person.

A gem at the heart of the city! Extremely convenient location literally 1min away from the MRT station. Tiny room but well-planned layout and just enough spaces for everything we need. Bed sheets are freshly changed and clean.

Anywhere in the western world this would be at most the standard of a bed & breakfast or a hostel. Under no circumstances is the category 3 stars. Sorry, normaly I don't rate so harshly but with a bit of luck you can get a room in the 5 star Grand Hotel for a few Taiwan dollars more and there the bathroom alone is as big as the entire room here. Positive: the location. But only the operators know why the reception in a ***hotel is no longer staffed after 8:30 p.m. Even if the self-check-in worked, there is still an uneasy feeling of being left out in the rain until the door opens. Negative: where should I start? If 2 people arrive with luggage, one has to lie down on the bed while the other unpacks. But why would you want to unpack if there is only a tiny cupboard and little storage space. The hotel room door doesn't close fully automatically (at least there's a warning tone), the safe isn't screwed on, so much moisture forms after showering that the towels take hours to dry, bed & clothes have a slight basic humidity. The shower almost falls apart and sleeping with the window open is impossible because the air conditioning outside is constantly switching on and off and liters of water are raining down on the plastic roof from one of the upper floors (rooms 4 - 8). The first night I heard the person in the next room snoring loudly right next to my head. Since the shell was built, none of the rooms 4- 8 have ever received a ray of sunlight again. Even if the room prices in Taipei are completely too high and in no way match the actual cost of living: with a realitic rate of NT$ 1,350 (or €50 for 2024) I certainly wouldn't have criticized it so harshly. Oh yes, I skipped breakfast. For a 'cafe' it wasn't that appealing.

A contemporary modern hotel with only 12 rooms available. It is suited between Metro red and brown line. Hence, accessibilties is a super plus. The room is clean except that it is a bit slightly small. The bed was comfortable and the sound proofing was good. There is small pantry suited outside the room, which you can get hot water, biscuits and tea bags etc. The staff is generally friendly and the cafe do provide paid food services until 2pm. Super plus point, the toilet bowl comes with auto bidet seat which you normally find it in higher-tier hotel.

Maybe I booked the mini room, so space was tight but well furnished and provided many little things that a traveller needs. Front desk staff was helpful and friendly. Very close by to MRT and on the red line, easy to go directly to Taipei main station to get to airport. Safe area too. Near to high school.
