"A prestigious department store known for housing branches of celebrated restaurants, including an outpost of the sushi establishment featured in the 'Jiro Dreams of Sushi' documentary." - Yukari Sakamoto
"Near Shinjuku Station you'll find Takashimaya Times Square, which includes the Takashimaya department store and a large branch of Tokyu Hands. The depachika , or basement food floor, at Takashimaya has some excellent food counters for sukiyaki and both Japanese and Western sweets. Home cooks can pick up all of their pantry staples at Kinokuniya supermarket, which also has a colorful variety of prepared foods and seafood counters with takeout sushi, and the wine and spirits department hosts jizake vendors who offer samples of local sake. The rooftop garden has seating for impromptu picnics, so you may want to pick up some sake—just remember to ask for a small cup."

Fantastic mix of old and new. We shopped here for some food in the basement and children's clothing. The sushi shop (can't recall its name but it's right in the corner) was superb for the price

Superb mall in Tokyo! Clean and well maintained. Elevators are manned by very courteous service staff. Very pleasant experience here! Kids and stroller friendly. 👍🏻

We visited this Takashimaya that has a retro vibe. The sakura trees next to the building were in full bloom. The architecture is classic and we were amazed to see the lifts with a lift operator turning the control lever to move the lift. The shopping experience here is one of luxury. The staff were helpful.

We had our lunch at Torisho Hashiguchi Nihonbashi Takashimaya, basement 1. A very small stall with limited seating. Wanted to try other food at the upper levels but all long queues so we settled down with this since it’s more of a quick service dining. The soup broth is good. Noodles are springy and QQ but it was a lot for me and my younger son to finish. Menu is limited. If they could have more side orders, it would be great! Parents with stroller can also dine here as you can leave your stroller outside (very convenient since it’s a small stall).

Love the Basement food hall that offers a wide variety of food options. After taking away a good spread of food, we went to level 8 Rooftop for Al fresco dining. It was autumn and the weather was nice and comfy for a nice meal. The dumplings, beef and croquettes were good. It was an enjoyable meal.

Big shopping building in 3 parts. The pokemon center is in the east part on 5F. In the main part on RF there's a rooftop garden with a cafe

This is not the Japanese bergdorf Goodman ( it is closed now on 2024 ) but the best historical Japanese department store. Daimaru has something new and good but the products are come and go. Here Takashimaya has items which are on market for long years and strong reputation among people.
If you are looking for something with good quality, you should come here. I always come by here to buy traditional Japanese spices and Chocolate from DEMEL.
You can meet something never will be changed in such a long years :)
Truly special for you.
