"Near Shinjuku Station you'll find Takashimaya Times Square, which includes the Takashimaya department store and a large branch of Tokyu Hands. The depachika , or basement food floor, at Takashimaya has some excellent food counters for sukiyaki and both Japanese and Western sweets. Home cooks can pick up all of their pantry staples at Kinokuniya supermarket, which also has a colorful variety of prepared foods and seafood counters with takeout sushi, and the wine and spirits department hosts jizake vendors who offer samples of local sake. The rooftop garden has seating for impromptu picnics, so you may want to pick up some sake—just remember to ask for a small cup."

It was quite a fancy mall with a real variety of items. In fact, an ideal place if you're looking to buy some gifts. The food options within the mall are quite good. You can even buy some takeaway on the first floor. Lots of bakery around too. Expect it to be a bit busy during peak hours, it seems like a common place for tourists to visit and is also really accessible via the trains.

This is such a nice department store. I love coming here every year to shop. Staff are super helpful and kind. I was so impressed about the elevators. Many other department stores have inaccessible elevators for the elderly and babies because bad mannered young tourist groups hog the elevator and forcibly hold them hostage. They installed staff here to ensure that doesn’t happen during busy hours. It made shopping much less stressful. They also have chairs placed in strategic locations that my father can rest while i buy clothes. He hates shopping and this place is the only store he is happy to wait for me. The store has a good mix of luxury and quality mid range clothing options, which makes it super useful. It also has excellent cafes, restaurants, and a wonderful curated grocery & deli.

The first Takashimaya in Japan. As usual, have high quality shopping, restaurants and food hall. Nit to miss the Pokemon shop too.

Superb mall in Tokyo! Clean and well maintained. Elevators are manned by very courteous service staff. Very pleasant experience here! Kids and stroller friendly. 👍🏻

We visited this Takashimaya that has a retro vibe. The sakura trees next to the building were in full bloom. The architecture is classic and we were amazed to see the lifts with a lift operator turning the control lever to move the lift. The shopping experience here is one of luxury. The staff were helpful.

Love the Basement food hall that offers a wide variety of food options. After taking away a good spread of food, we went to level 8 Rooftop for Al fresco dining. It was autumn and the weather was nice and comfy for a nice meal. The dumplings, beef and croquettes were good. It was an enjoyable meal.

We had our lunch at Torisho Hashiguchi Nihonbashi Takashimaya, basement 1. A very small stall with limited seating. Wanted to try other food at the upper levels but all long queues so we settled down with this since it’s more of a quick service dining. The soup broth is good. Noodles are springy and QQ but it was a lot for me and my younger son to finish. Menu is limited. If they could have more side orders, it would be great! Parents with stroller can also dine here as you can leave your stroller outside (very convenient since it’s a small stall).

The lady who processed our tax refund was excellent at the tax refund counter on the 2nd floor of the main building – efficient and professional. Unfortunately, while she assisted us, a male helper behind her (name tag included the character “海”) who was packing our items gave us an openly derisive look and appeared to mock us when he saw that part of our purchases to take home were fresh produce. We were perplexed - each of us can check in three 32kg pieces of large luggage, so of course we’ll buy whatever we wish, including fresh items. I don’t understand why customers spending at Takashimaya deserve to be ridiculed by its store staff. This individual clearly needs retraining and falls far short of the service standard Takashimaya is known for.
