We had a fabulous time there. The host was adorable, gave us all sorts of tips and ideas to visit Nikko. I highly highly recommend this little cozy hostel. The rooms were small but very comfortable. The location is exceptional, right next to the train stations and the bus terminal to go to the rest of Nikko. The common area was very nice, with board games and origami paper available for the guests. I highly recommend this place and am super grateful to the hosts for our stay. Thank you very much.

The host was very friendly and helpful. The host found us some local restaurants and they were hidden gems. The house was very old but well maintained. Very good location, next to the train station and the bus terminal. Highly recommend this place.

The rooms were freezing cold no heating and it was -5 inside the hotel. They provided us with one thin blanket nothing like advertised, the windows were open and unable to close. We are having to seek medical help as one of my friends has developed hypothermia. No food no drink and the toilet facility does not flush. Said in advert the beds would be made up for us. After a vicious scolding by the owners wife we had to awkwardly make up our own beds with no instructions at all. If you like being shouted at, sleeping on a solid cold floor with a stone for a pillow this is definitely the place for you. Didn't really wanna even give the one star but no choice for 0*.

Superb location just next to the train station which make this hostel very popular. The owner is very nice as well as the staffs, they tried all the way to assist you. However, back to the room itself, it is far too cramped, you can even walk outside if someone is coming in, I did expected a better environment although the atmosphere was great.

It's a guesthouse afterall so do not expect any luxuries. That being said, it was a wonderful stay. The house is as charming as the owner. There is a Kotatsu table in the open space. You will be welcomed with your own little set of tea and coffee for each morning. Luggage can be stored before check-in or after check-out, though there is no locker available. Would definitely recommended for anyone who's planning to explore Nikko by feet so anyone who is being outside for the most part of the day. Though it is comfortable at the Kotatsu table there is not much space available to just be on your own, so loner's probably feel it may be too narrow.

I had a nice stay at this place, you can’t beat the location - 1 minute from both Tobu-Nikko and Nikko stations and close to the Nikko Station Hotel Classic - you can use their onsen for ¥700. The WiFi was good and the staff were all adorable - warm, friendly, eager to make your stay enjoyable, and they speak good English! The guesthouse is clean and cosy, and the bed was comfortable with good bedding and a nice thick duvet as well as a heater.||I only stayed for one night as I live in Tokyo and had come up to Nikko for a weekend getaway. The guesthouse is a converted Japanese house, and is very, very small and quite noisy (I was in a 3 bed dorm where only one person could move around at any one time, and you can hear every sliding door everywhere in the building). Because of this, it would not suit everyone’s taste, and it is quite expensive for what you get. There is one toilet and shower for the building, and a tiny common area in Reception.||All in all, I had a lovely experience. Thank you guys!

Located across from the train and bus stations and only a 20 minute walk from the World Heritage Site up the main road, this lovely little place is clean, comfortable and convenient. My son and I stayed in a traditional tatami room, which was great, and the shared bathroom and shower were no problem at all and very clean. The staff are a delight, speak English well, and are extremely sweet and helpful.
