⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 5 We stayed at Nikko Park Lodge and really enjoyed our time here! 🌲 It’s about a 20-minute walk from the train station, but honestly, the walk itself was so scenic and peaceful — we loved it! 🍂 The location is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by nature, and there’s great food and an onsen nearby. The dorm room was simple and cozy — we did spot a few bugs, but no bed bugs 👍. They mentioned heated blankets, though we couldn’t find them 🤔. The beds were a little firm but still comfy (pretty standard for Japan 🇯🇵). The shower area is also an onsen ♨️, which was really cool — though the water temperature changed a lot between days (super hot one day, chilly the next 🥵🥶). The walls had a bit of mold, but it’s understandable given all the steam from the onsen. They offer free drinks and coffee ☕️, which is a nice touch — though there weren’t any cups when we tried to grab some 😅. Overall, Nikko was absolutely beautiful, and this lodge was a great choice for exploring the area. 🌸 Despite a few small issues, the charm of the location and the atmosphere made it a really good experience. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for something peaceful and scenic! 🌿

We had a very comfortable stay here. The rooms were comfortable, the air is fresh and one evening we even enjoyed a piping hot bath. Best of all, the lovely chef prepared a fully vegan & nutritious meal for us which can be hard to come by in Nikko. We would come back in a heartbeat!

Nice Hostel in a romantic old villa just a little outside the village up the hill. Takes about 25 min on foot and you can take even a shortcut on a narrow trail through the forrest. The hosts are uncomplicated and very helpful. Just the cleanliness is certainly not what you expect in Japan and a little messy; so if you are picky it may not be your favoite. If they improve on this I would give it a full 5*.

as far as hostels go this one is very special. Location wise it’s perfect, situated 20mins from the centre, with an awesome view of the mountains. The hosts are very lovely and welcoming. Beds were comfy. Perfect locations to relax and explore nature.

Super cozy american winter lodge feel, with a very friendly owner. They have one deliciously prepared vegan dinner option too, which we had every night. There’s a small heated pool which you can relax in too. And the nature around the place is beautiful

The location is beautiful with an onzen in the house and the owners very sweet. However we saw bedbugs in the beds of the dormitory and are covered in bites now leaving. at least the two beds which we stayed in had them. Watch out before lying down and check carefully.

It's really cozy, and has a great community vibe. It's close to the station. The surrounding nature is serene, I enjoyed sitting outside and listening to the birds. I slept in the dormitory and it was really comfortable, the curtains also provided a nice sense of privacy. The staff were amazing and I loved the scrambled egg with toast and sausage. Overall an amazing experience I would recommend to anyone visiting Nikkou.

Unfortunately, this lodge did not meet expectations. The bathroom lacked a toilet jet/bidet, which is a standard feature in most places in Japan. There were also no essential electronic amenities with place charges a high price but offers very low standards. Additionally, the the lady owner’s attitude was unprofessional and unwelcoming like screaming.

During my solo trip/adventure to Nikko last winter of 2008, stayed at Nikko Park Lodge. The place is a little bit far from the station going to the mountain but I feel in love with the place the moment I saw it. I stayed in a female dorm style room and a girl from Australia was there when I arrived but I was not able to mingle with them sine I was so tired from my adventure that day. The next day, I woke up really early and took a long walk around the area since breakfast was not yet ready. The place was really homey, it was unfortunate though that I have to leave early to continue my adventure in Nikko. Will i stay there again? Definitely.
