This is an older property. The hotel is extremely well located, near Nikko's train stations (and its bus hub), which makes it easy to explore the area. It offers a good free breakfast, which is a big plus. My room was clean and spacious, but the bathroom did smell like wet towels, but considering the room was so large for Japanese standards and reasonably priced, I could not complain. The hotel has a public bath for its guests, including an outside area. It was very nice coming in after a long day of walking and taking a hot bath. I would recommend this hotel.

A lovely hotel with old school rustic vibes inside. A very pleasant and convenient area to stay in to get away from the rush of the cities. Overall, great value!! 💖 Thank you for the amazing stay! Pros: - 🍳 Free breakfast that is yummy, if you’re not fussy about eating the same options everyday. There are many food choices, so to me it’s perfect. - ♨️ Onsen included that is open until midnight for hotel guests - 📍 Great location, with a bus stop that serves the touristy areas. There are bus stops directly opposite the hotel including one for Edo wonderland. 7 minutes walk away from convenience stores - 💁‍♂️ Amazing service from the hotel staff, they were friendly and helpful Minor cons: - 🫧 Rooms are slightly dated and very minor wear and tears. However, they are VERY CLEAN.

Nice location, very close to JR Nikko Station and Tobu Nikko Station. The room was quite spacious but the bed was small and narrow, not comfortable to sleep. Breakfast was OK but with limited choice of food. The best thing was Onsen particular Outdoor Onsen, very relaxing. The staff was nice and helpful. The room price was not cheap though.

Not a bad place to stay if visiting Nikko for a couple of nights to do the shrines and maybe Tobu world and arriving by train. Just a minutes walk from the main station (the small station is opposite). Buses to the shrines are just across the road and a few eating places in the area. The staff were very friendly and helpful and if checking in early you could leave your luggage with them. The room was clean and quite a decent size in Japanese standards and has everything you need for a couple of nights stay. Beds are slightly on the firm side but comfortable enough, we asked for extra pillows as only one provided. Air conditioning is good, small fridge, kettle, flat screen TV. If you opt not to have housekeeping they still leave fresh towels outside your door which is handy as they are very thin and don’t dry that easily. Our room was very quiet, we had room 403 and did not have any noise from the street outside or neighbours. Breakfast is simple, has Japanese hot foods or for us English there was cereal, bread for toasting, yogurt and fruit. There is a small bakery a few doors down if you wanted pastries and in the lounge area in the hotel you could get complimentary tea and coffee throughout the day. When we visited in October most the restaurants nearby seemed to close as soon as the tourists left around 5 so not many places open in the evening and those that were kicked out at 9pm so I would make sure you are out by 6.30/7. I would recommend the Italian in town called “Gigli Trattoria” and suggest you book early to secure a table. If you really get stuck there is a brewery/cafe next door to the hotel called Kitchi. The enthusiastic owner has only been open for about a year and makes delicious cold craft beer, he also offers a few snacks along with 2 hot dishes of a sort of beef stew and a keema curry, they are not huge portions but are very good and will fill a gap. There is also a small bar for drinks in the hotel.

The hotel location is great—right across from the train station. Very easy to travel. However, the room was old and smelled musty as soon as we walked in. The service was nothing special. The worst part was the breakfast. There were very few choices and small amounts of food. The rice ran out, and they never refilled it. This hotel is too expensive for what you get. I would not recommend it.

Nikko Hotel Classic has a convenient location to both train stations in Nikko (it’s directly across from the JR station). Upon entering, you are warmly greeted by the staff, who will explain the breakfast and hot spring hours. There is also an amenity bar where you can pick up additional things like razors and body care products as well as cups and tea for your room. A lounge features a free coffee, machine, and place to relax. The first-floor spa is a welcome way to unwind at the end of a long day. The hotel is older, so rooms do feel a little worn as far as fixtures and drapery, but everything was spotlessly clean. Despite being across from the train station, my room on the fourth floor was super quiet and had a fantastic view of the 1914 station building. One note for those with small kids or those not used to Japanese food is that the breakfast buffet is fairly limited and leans toward Japanese items like curry and consommé soup… There are a few cereals, but not many choices for western-style dishes. The daily lineup includes black coffee, several kinds of fruit juice, hard-boiled eggs, salad, yogurt and canned fruit, and several kinds of bread and jam, which was plenty to get me started for the day. The hotel also offers a second-floor bar and an adjacent restaurant, neither of which I tried on this trip. The multilingual staff will be more than happy to assist you, and the hotel also loans out free umbrellas. This was a definite deal for the level of service and the available amenities, I will definitely be staying here on my next trip to Nikko!

Location was excellent- right across from Nikko JR station. Rooms were spacious. Breakfast was good, except my only complaint would be...the same soup was served every day of the 3 days I stayed there. Onsen was a treat as we walked average of 25,000 steps a day. Overall I was pleasantly surprised with the hotel. Proximity to tourist strip was excellent.

Really nice hotel. Very close to the train stations. Excellent service! In addition, I booked accommodation including breakfast which was nice overall. There is even a lounge with hot or cold drinks. The staff helped with everything I asked and explained and guided me about the various activities. Good experience!
